After taking some time to look over their findings from that hidden safe, the team is left at a crossroads with something that seems like a lead--but how do they utilize it properly? After some much-needed help from Subject 4, they make their way to an old piece of tech they haven't used for quite some time and see if it lends any answers to the Spire. And while it does reveal SOMETHING to them, it's not what they expected. Further, it's a discovery that's even worse...

Matt's behavior is getting stranger with every new video. I understand he must be under a lot of stress trying so hard to solve this whole mess so that could affect his mood, but what's happening with him is way more serious than just some random mood swings. He's also having very suspicious moments lately, like the most recent one where he opened that safe with a code he didn't want to say out loud and instead pretended like he forgot and got all defensive when the team questioned him about that. Also, him being so suspicious about everyone and almost not trusting his friends anymore is so not Matt. I don't like this theory but at this point him being affected by the ACTIVE serum is the only explenation out there.

Exactly!!! Like I always understand what you mean but like Matt was very secretive about the code for the safe. Either he knows something that not just us but the rest of the team. Or they all know about it and we don’t because Sam and them have each looks when he wouldn’t say. But I also question some of the things Matt says and does because it’s rude and seems unnecessary. I also am kinda suspicious about Bailey constantly trying to get him to take the necklace off. Now what Woods did is suspicious but he did know the lady and wouldn’t you want to protect someone you know?

The minute I saw large clusters I immediately thought... are those residential areas? could it be people who had been tested on or had been infected with some form of the serum that wasn't horribly bad or anything... and then they went to a literal park and I figured I was right. wow... Also Matt seemed really off in this video. like he was just really tired or was just hiding something. I can't really put my finger on it, but he seems a bit distant and quiet... it's weird.

He is being controlled...."in some sort of way ". *Active* might mean the serum is active and that person is controlled by Syhpus. *Passive* might mean that they COULD be controlled by syphus to form idk maybe a cult or army. I felt that way too, in the last video he perfectly moved the camera when he was entering code for the safe. It's weird because he has always showed the codes and he didn't even tell the team or viewers what it was. He also seemed a little off in the beginning but not so much near the end.

When Matt made the point to say that if Sam trusted Woods, then he would really stood out to me. I think at this point, Sam is the only one Matt trusts because Woods stole a document and Bailey was trying to get Matt to take the Absalate off. I think we could see bigger changes with Matt if Sam does something that would make Matt not trust her as much. Second point I thought about was the fact that Matt taking the Absalate could have been was set the bomb off. The survivor pointed out that Syntec never leaves loose ends. I think that taking the Absalate out, triggered a failsafe that would set it off anyways. With Matt driving the U-haul to the police station would then effect more people then if it was stationary. I have a feeling that Syntec's plan worked.

Maybe the “passive” and “active” settings in the RSD are people who have “activated serum” and “dormant serum”, dormant being serum that was neutralized by the antidote.

I miss the other people the used to be around the Bases. When this all started there were other channels and alot of other people like just in the back ground. It was nice to have the other channels to watch in between the 863 epidodes.

Covid may still be effecting their area as far as occupancy and such. They also seem to be filming the series at times that the office isn't really busy. It's probably easier to film when most of the other crews have left for the day in order to prevent "contamination" in the video/audio

The others may not be in the background of these videos but some of those people still have active channels that you can watch in between. Just because they aren’t in Matt’s videos doesn’t mean they aren’t in the studio at all :)

Now that would be a SATA connector in the device, for both power and data. And judging by the size of the square hole in the device, a 3.5 inch HDD would fit in there. This also means that the device was not made prior to 2005 and would require an external power source to spin the HDD.

I understand that the team and Matt have been through a lot of things especially when it comes to trusting people about the project but the fact that Matt is almost not trusting anyone at this point is really making me concerned. In order for them to figure out what is happening they need to trust one another with everything, and I mean everything. But I do understand his hesitance with woods.

It's so odd especially since he was calling out Sam and the others for not immediately believing him about Deb until they got more info. Then he tried to quickly give an answer and redirect when someone mentioned codes and then Sam asked what codes they were talking about. They've even started to notice that he is being more aggressive and something might be wrong.

Hey guys, I don't know if I'm overanalysing, but I was looking closely as the way the editor made it: when Matt pushed buttons on the microwave he pushed 110 and then 11 those numbers made me think of binary codes. 110 is AKC "Aknowledgment" but if we add 11 (11011) then that means ESC "escape"...am I getting paranoid? x)

Someone on reddit mentioned that 11011 is 27 in binary. There was a B on the keypad...B27. So maybe the code was B11011. (I didn't come up with this, as I said, I saw it on reddit 😊)

OK, so we know that Wes and protect S.P.I.E.R’s goal was all about the antidote and the obsolete belongs to him. What if the obsolete was the key part of the project or something? We know now that the bomb went off, and that the bomb was supposed to infect everyone with the serum. But on the scanner, Matt shows up as active, and everyone else shows up as passive. What if this is because Wes somehow did something to the obsolete so when it was used on the bomb, it neutralized it so when it was dispersed, the serum would be passive instead of active. But because Matt was already infected, it didn’t work on him.

The connector you need for the device is a SATA cable. It's the same type of connector you would find on an SSD for a computer. The slot in the device could be for a harddrive that's in a another safe hidden in the wall or it's made to be linked to a computer ( these are my thoughts)

Active serum is where it’s “stabilized” by radiation while passive serum is where it’s just in the person

So what exactly "activates" the serum? The small prototype worked just like the big one and neither Matt or the people who got infected had the antidote yet Matt is "active" and everyone else is passive. Could it be because the big serum bomb got shut down prematurely? Like it didn't have time to disperse enough serum into the air in order to fully infect people. Or did the small bomb have something more special to it? OR maybe the serum getting stabilized by a massive dose of radiation doesn't actually neutralize it but instead activates its full potential, whatever that might be.

My theories. 1. The S.P.I.R.E. is a undercover project made by Wes to shut down project Pegasus. Pegasus was the serum bomb. The change request stated that the "S.P.I.R.E." should be discrete. Thus tells me it hooked up to something. Maybe the serum bomb to cancel the effects of the serum/serum bomb. It also said that "the caramel creamer has spoiled in the kitchen." That means that the logs know the apple II was part of S.P.I.R.E. and not Pegasus. As stated by the "were out of cream In the breakroom." Deb said find the spire not destroy the spire. 2. On the other hand, Ben said he wasn't controlled by someone or the serum. I personally think Ben Is dead. The grave was his not Wes' and the serum is controlling his body, not his spirit.

Also even if she said destroy how do we know she didn't mean it in a positive wayfor example it could be used to despurse serum as well as the antidote she might think Ben knows about the s.p.i.r.e and that he will use it to despurse serum now that he has the formula. This would then mean she might want them to shut it down before he reaches it and uses it for it's unintended purpose. I'm not defending her as there's no evidence to what's true as of now

the active serum is affecting his mental state, with all the stress of the ghost situation previously, its possible that the serum only was neutralized for a limited time like, it needed constant radiation to keep stabilizing it. (please get them to see this i think it would help them tremendously)

If someone would like to post this on redit you can. DEB IS RIGHT! you need to shut down the spire someone is probably going to use it for serum. like the serum bomb was initial used for antidote but reconfigured to disperse serum. they can probably do the same thing with the spire.

Theory I firmly believe Matthias is being controlled in some form via the, still mysterious and unknown, serum. There is major evidence to back this up. Firstly, being him having conversations with himself, this not only has happened within these videos but on other channels. Another thing with Matt, specifically in the previous episode is his use of the word “risk.” Matt when he was about to crawl through the hole called it a “risk” however Matthias is notorious for his use of “curiosity outweighs my fear.” The change in descriptors along with dramatic personality shift is truly chilling. Secondly, his intentions for project SPIRE. Completely neglecting the fact he magically knew the password to a safe WES encoded, his corruptive behavior trying to find the answers to the SPIRE is reflective with the erratic behavior of Ben. His erratic behavior, specifically mentioning “time is ticking” to the Syntec survivor even though they had NO time limit and NO restrictions because she was “safe,” is becoming more and more synonymous with the behavior of Ben when he was abusing the serum. With this erratic obsession seems to be more of a personal experience he has been thought before (reflecting the beliefs of Syphus). Finally, his notorious disengagement with Deb. Matt took to an extreme level with reacting to Debs lies. The lies were in fact true and dispersed the team from each other however, he is constantly flaking the conversation of WHY. They have only found evidence recently of any confirmation of her truthful lies so why did he react so forcefully then. Mattias has repeatedly said that he needed confirmation to make decisions, but if the person who is accessing Mattias’ body is it would explain the erratic behavior. There are many other contributing pieces of evidence to support this such as the mannequin wearing Matthias’s clothes may symbolize his control. The photos of the control tower in the mountaineer could be the position of control. I personally believe however the serum is doing it’s madness, it is being controlled by Syphus and Syphus is discovering more hidden connections through Matt than he would searching on his own. Matthias is now an important assent to Syphus’ dominance. The RSD even said active, meaning Syphus is actively controlling Matthias

Tip: Whenever you find clues that are documents, use gloves first so that you could have a chance to lift fingerprints from it to find out if someone else is involved or who the identity of unknown persons such as Deb are.

Even if that was possible they would still need a database to cross reference the fingerprint. Those databases is only to use by law enforcement or high level federal government agencies.

I could be wrong, but haven’t there been files with patient/employee prints on them? Like their files when they became patients and employees that the company saves. If not it could be something they look out for in the future!

It would actually be so cool if Matt had a villain arc in the series. Considering he already wears a lot of black and he kinda already has a villain-y look to him. Not to mention the fact he has the serum within him. Maybe if they did something with the absalate getting broken or stolen which then leads to Matts spiral into madness and evil. That would take the series in a whole new direction.

he sounded like he implied that he tried a few sets of numbers and got one that worked. and it could have been specific ones from familiar things, that he tried. whether he remembered them we don't know, but it could be possible that he tried enough of them that he forgot which one it was, although i don't know if he cut any time out, but he didn't seem to take long to get it tho.. but he would have to be extremely lucky to get it right randomly. i thought maybe they would bring it up again in that next one but guess not.

I think they’re trying, because if they want to post on Fridays the videos will always have a next time and the videos would be Atleast delayed by 1-2 weeks just so they have 2 videos ready and even then they sometimes can’t do the bonus because of problems or just the episode took a few days of shooting.

Matt felt so weird in this video in a way I can’t put my finger on. I don’t think those people were necessarily from the bomb, why wouldn’t the rest of the crew show up on the scan when they were there too? Plus, why are these random people showing up on this scan where as Matt and Ben show up on the other?? There’s something different about these people, could they be undercover syntec employees? Or they live(d) around the Spire and when Matt cut off Deb, she activated it and infected them with something that reads differently than the scanner

The spire is the device that Ben had to disperse serum because Deb said that they had to actually turn off the device that he had in the trailer so I think that it can disperse ether serum but is was ment for the antidote and the one found in location 3 was one of the prototypes

What if that guy wasn't someone affected by the serum bomb, what if he was a former Syntec patient and that's the reason he comes up as 'Passive' on the RSD, because it's been so long and the serum is no longer active in him and affecting him in anyway.

yeah cuz they was there with the bomb too, but did they have any dots on the screen for them when it was set to passive? if it went off then they should be lit up as dots in the park too right?, but the one on the phone didn't mention other dots, just that one.. but if he was a patient, then wouldn't that mean all those other passive dots were patients too? seems weird that many still live around or hang around that area after finally getting out of the horrible place..

Either than or it might be a code for an element. My brother thinks the fact that since the cup was put in three times, you would hit the 3 button. and since 1 was hit 3 times and then twice would give you the result Fe for Iron (if you follow that route).
