What a wonderful collection of treasures we found in the mud over the Platinum Jubilee weekend! Join me in central London as I meet up with friends to go mudlarking in the River Thames during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations (1st to 4th June 2022). In between parades and the Trooping of the Colour I head down to the foreshore to see what the tide has left out.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with several friends, all of whom you will meet on this video. They are here along with their instagram account names so you can go and say hello to them and see what they have found:-
Fran Sibthorpe - @franjoy7
Sean Clarke - @seanclarkemudlark
Caroline Nunneley - @carolinenunneleymudlark
Kasia - @kasiamudlark
I've tried to capture some of the wonderful atmosphere in London over that weekend. I hope you enjoy it
If you wish to try mudlarking then you need to have a permit from the Port of London Authority. You can all the details you need here:-
www.pla.co.uk/...
Thank you for watching.
See you soon for another adventure.

I think you outdid yourself with this one, Nicola! A beautiful video with impeccable editing and perfect music. Your friends on the foreshore are so lovely - Fran with her spectacular finds and beautiful shy smile, Kasia with her sweet face and enthusiastic pride in her finds, Caroline with her twinkling eyes and the meticulous care she takes with her finds, and Sean with his self-effacing manner and that fantastic previous find of the intact pilgrim badge! Treasures themselves, every one, helping to make your Jubilee day mudlark extra special. Even the birds gave you quite a bit of a show! I loved the footage of the goose and gull eating their crabs and the whole bird contingent seeming to stop for a moment to honor the Queen along with the sounding of the boat horns. Loved the shots of the crowd for the Trooping of the Colors and the fun parade and all the archived footage interspersed. It was so well and professionally done! And, though you were busy orchestrating all of this, you managed to find the fantastic pipe and that token with the clasped hands or handshake. You are a big part of why I look forward to Sundays! ☀️🌼☀️🌼☀️

Fantastic video. Love the jubilee stuff, especially seeing The Red Arrows ❤️🤍💙. My late dad recalled meeting the queen and Prince Phillip in the 1950s when they visited Sri Lanka a few months after her coronation. My dad was in the Air Force and were detailed to provide security. He said they were an incredibly beautiful couple in their younger years. He also said they weren’t as much trouble as some other world leaders.

Hi, Nicola. Susan from Shelburne here. This was a double gift, as I got to enjoy the mudlarking, as well as watching some parade highlights. It was forty years ago, on my first visit to London (and a few years before I married an Englishman!), that I got a private tour of the Royal Mews, and got to sit in the coronation carriage. Fortunately I still have a photo of that occasion!

Imagine my surprise when I saw my favourite mudlark, Nicola White, on Amazing Stock, which is a RU-vid channel about recent archeological finds! Even better Nicola had shred her find of a wooden dog thought to be from the Congo, with us, her loyal fans, several months ago! I’m writing this congratulations here because I don’t have an Instagram account and don’t really know any other way to reach you. Thank you Nicola. You have provided this Prescott, Arizona teacher hours of entertainment. I was particularly impressed with your challenge to school aged children to produce videos during the lockdown. It was a wonderful way to keep students engaged at an extremely stressful period. I will see you on your next post. Stay safe.

Excellent show, lovely Platinum Lark. Historic. I’ve had the good fortune to have had 3 visits to London over the years. Visited my dad’s WW2 101 Sqn Ludford area. Spent a bit of time with my fellow retired Canadian service members taking in the changing of the Guard. Thanks for the clips of the celebrations. Always love to see what bits you discovered.

Thank you so much Nicola for sharing the parade! We didn’t get to see that part here stateside. We got to see highlights of the Queen watching the 70 planes, or was that when she was unable to attend? The whole thing was so historic! What a celebration! Oddly when the 70 planes went over…Si Finds was on the foreshore watching all the jets fly over. Really cool when you think about it. You on the streets and Simon on the beach at the same time, watching the same thing! Small world. The Queen looks very frail now a days. She is getting up there in age, but still beautiful non the less. Thanks again, this was very special. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh, I loved seeing all the Jubilee festivities and those flyovers! I saw Simon posted a few, but not from closer to the stuff. In 1967, or maybe '68, my folks took us to London and we were there for Elizabeth's birthday parade rehearsal. I had been trying to remember the nice police officer we had talked to and then my sister called and asked about it and "John" just popped out. What's that? 55 years? Mind you, I remembered it for years, but it hadn't come up for a few decades... Really, there had only been 8 to 10 years of age difference and at my age then, I was starting to look like a young lady. Mind you, I could still get into movies at a child's price at 17, it was just the way I dressed...

I was in London a week before this spectacle. Now it's clear to me how to get such great animal shots. A fox actually sits in broad daylight in a green area of the Whithouse Apartments and lies in wait for a crow... which only led him by the nose. I've already seen a lot, but in the middle of the city a fox is rather a rarity here! 😊

I moved to Canada from the UK many years ago. Watching all of the Platinum festivities has made me extremely ‘homesick’. Would love to be there! Excellent video once again, Nicola!

The finds and friends were awesome. Love the trader's tokens. This was the best Jubilee video that didn't have marmalade sandwiches. God Save the Queen.

Thank you for sharing your time at the Jubilee Nicola! Besides seeing the Queen, I loved the hologram of her from her coronation ride. What a great idea that was.

It was great to see people enjoying the parade. The finds on the shore were really nice, by different people, and you could see that they'd enjoyed discovering their items. Thank you for this video production, very pleasant indeed.

Oh, how EXCITING watching the parade... I watched you and SI TODAY... You both showed some of the flyover... My eyes teared up remembering the BRAVE BRITS that struggled and died in the war... What a history our countries hold... ( GOD SAVE THE QUEEN ! ) 😘😘😘 I'm born BRITISH and will ALWAYS BE BRITISH !!! ❤
