If you have a truck, even a small one. You could pile all that metal into your vehicle & when done for the day. Drop it off to the metal recyclers & get your gas money back for the day for your efforts. LOVE< LOVE LOVE that you did this , this day. Ty for taking us along

What I learned while watching magnet fishing videos is: They pile up the metal at land and tell the officials where the pile is. Or they take the metal to a scrapyard and get even paid. Or they tell a scrap metal collector where the pile is. Please kindly allow me to suggest that you do similar because it makes cleaning the river bed a bit easier. You could easily pile up even the shop carts and bicycle frames then. Much less to put in bags respectively to carry home. By the way: I would have definitely brought the big lamp thingi home. 😁 ;-) Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Gosh, the family story I could tell you about gas masks in WWII. My Father was part of the Chemical Warfare training, and I have a story he wrote about his training method for US soldiers. Mustard Gas was a very real fear for England's citizens, and soldiers of all Country's soldiers involved. Glad you two are back! Have an amazing week!!!

This was a great guys. The hubs and I do garbage pick up all summer long on our beach visits. We were stopped one day coming back in off the islands. The fishery inspectors wanted to check our boat for any fish. I said no we just gather garbage. He said, oh beachcombers....I said not even, just picking up trash so the wildlife doesn't have to live with people's crap. Every bit removed makes a difference. Thank you guys for making an effort.

That gas mask was the bell of the ball! I would assume you removed the broken lens or it fell out during the clean up. I thought that was the best part. I loved that you did some early spring cleaning. The world appreciates it.

Good afternoon, Andy and Josie! 6:35 looks like a shock absorber from a heavy duty or commercial truck. 12:52 - my oldest son recently got his first job as a cart clerk at a grocery store. I told him I found a cart out of place and showed him this... he growled. lol. 15:50 - I saw the hull number and started searching. Wish you had gotten a better shot of the bow, but it looks like it might be a Fairmile B-class motor launch. There was one such boat with that hull number. Records I found don't indicate what configuration it was built in, but supposedly most of the class were equipped as sub chasers. If that's what this is, the pilot house has either been substantially altered or replaced. The general hull form looks correct, nonetheless.

Ohhhhhhhhh make this a series, I would LOVE to see the trash that..."people" decide to hurt our earth with!!

You two lovely people should be very proud of yourselves for pulling all that crap out of the river. It really enrages me, when mindless fools treat our beautiful world as if it were their rubbish dump. My Mum was born and raised in Lancashire in the 1930s, and she told me that in England in the 1920s, 40s, and right up to the 1950s, the government put up signs at all the local beauty spots, where people loved to picnic and look at the views of pleasant places. The signs said - 'LET IT NOT BE SAID UNTO YOUR SHAME, THAT ALL WAS BEAUTY HERE - UNTIL YOU CAME.' A powerful poem, isn't it? When my Mum went back to visit her relatives in the 1980s, (after having emigrated to Australia in the 1950s) - she was truly shocked and horrified at the sight of people just dumping their rubbish in the streets and parks, and at the seaside. She told me that littering used to be considered a shameful thing to do. Sadly, now - people seem to delight in destroying nature. I doubt if today's litterbugging chavs would even understand that poem - far too civilised for them! But you and your Dad give me hope for Britain, as you are both so decent and generous.- As Shakespeare wrote in the Merchant of Venice- "So shines a good deed in a weary world."

You did a good job there cleaning up the river and if everyone did a little bit just think how much better the place would look. Good on you both for doing this cleanup. My dad was a builder and came home with one of those masks when I was small but he would'nt let me keep it. He had found it in a loft.

thats so cool! thats a civilian duty gasmask! you seem them a lot in pics of air raid wardens and fire service! really awesome relic from ww2!!! man i wish i had a real mickey mouse mask!!! its so creep/epic! you guys ought to metal detect there, no telling what you might find. that derelict boat is cool. i could probably spend a couple hours exploring just that lol. 6:38 looks like a car shock absorber. 7:48 hope there not a body in the barrel lol. they found some in the lake mead reservoir. i guess they suspect mob activity since they were active near there in the 60s/70s. 14:29 car suspension coil spring. probably went with the shock absorber. wonder if there was a car accident in the vicinity? that pepcon explosion never gets old! love the aesthetic assemblage! thats kinda of like what nicola white/tideline art does! bravo on the cleanup!
