We Found UNUSED CHARACTERS in Mario Sluggers!

This is a godly discovery. Actually insane. For the Koopa alternative, in the baseball mode of Mario Sports Superstars, you can play as both blue and yellow Koopas, so it was probably one of these. This game also had the colored Magikoopas from Superstar and Sluggers, which is cool. Either way this is actually incredible

Orange and Purple Yoshis in reference to Sunshine is a good thought. The first thing that came into my mind was White and Black which have been unused Yoshi colors in other games, taken out to safely steer clear of racial arguments. Wouldn't be too farfetched as we know Black Shy Guy was changed to Gray Shy Guy in this game

A random guess but maybe the cut toad skin was the red toad with the blue shirt? Like how his typical appearance that they use the most. Another guess but maybe it was cut because it would have been difficult to distinguish blue shirt red toad with full on red toad?

Surprisingly haven’t seen anyone suggest this as I’d be willing to put money on it, but the unused Toad alt might’ve been Red Toad with a blue vest. As a kid it always bugged me you couldn’t play as normal “Mario Kart” Toad, and this would fix that. Even has a reason for being removed: The head icon would be identical to Red Toad’s, making them absolutely indistinguishable. If not Red with a blue vest, I’d go with Orange, but as a huge Toad fan this is crazy to me as it’s *always* been those five colors (with the exception of early RPG games)

Maybe the stats in which Goomba has 100 is the bunting stat? I think Goomba is referred to as a good bunter. Really don't know if Bowser is a decent bunter as well though... so.. who knows.

Blue koopa makes the most sense for sure. He was in super Mario world and there’s been the blue shell power up in the new super Mario bros DS and has made an appearance as a power up in bowser’s inside story.

I'm very late to this but I have a good feeling that the unused Kritter color alt could be a gray one because there is a Gray Kritter in Donkey Kong Country, in fact it's the only color variation that didn't appear in Super Sluggers so that might be the one

This is pretty awesome! I've made a few simple GameCube/Wii/Wii U/Switch hacks (mainly levels, textures, sound, and music), so might have to dump my copy of Mario Super Sluggers Baseball and check out some of this data. Mario Kart Wii has been hacked to death, so I'd love to see Mario Super Sluggers get more attention from the modding community!

Honestly I thought Baby Wario would have been a good fit for this game because it would’ve completed the captain baby compilation and made the character roster to a perfect 72 adding up to eight even teams and also gave another edition from Yoshis Island DS alongside Baby Donkey Kong

That fact we can’t play as purple Yoshi or purple Shy Guy in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe still really bothers me, so that Toad doesn’t even have any alternate colors.

My theories on which colors the alts might've been: Orange Yoshi (debuted in Yoshi's Island DS alongside Baby Peach & Baby DK) Purple Yoshi (appeared in Yoshi's Island DS recently) Orange Toad (All Toads in the Game are one of the colors of the Rainbow) Pink Kritter (One of the many Colors of Kremlings, specifically of Koindozer & Krimp from Donkey Kong Country 3) Blue Koopa (recently appeared in New Super Mario Bros.) Orange Piantas (A common Color of Pianta in Super Mario Sunshine)

Itd be cool to see what unused Music Tracks, Stadiums, or items that were scrapped

Well now you guys need to play a game with altered stats like 100 speed bowser or Toadsworth with 100 pitching (assuming that changes his pitching speed). Can't wait until after graduation to try these out for myself!

Man I would KILL for an Orange and Purple Yoshi! Imagine how cool it would be to link Yoshi into the Wario Bros using Miis? And Orange? Finally a Daisy Mii link-out that isn't Baby Daisy. Shame we didn't get them, though I get that 8 Yoshi variants might have been pushing it.

I was expecting the penguin and 1-2 alternate Birdos! Orange and purple Yoshi would be really helpful chem-wise since not many characters have chem with purple/orange Mii and those characters don't have really good chem either (eg. Daisy and Waluigi)

So, judging from the stat table, this game doesn’t use a point system for chemistry (unlike Superstar Baseball) and just has the 3 set conditions (Good/Neutral/Bad) for chemistry?
