I did an experiment at work once and found that nobody ever remembers what anybody else wears. Because we are so concerned about our own appearance that we rarely retain information about anyone else’s. I dig yer style. I never noticed you wear the same shirt all the time. And I watch every episode. and yes, I buy multiples. 🥳
I love your with all the hard work that you and your family are doing every day, I think it's a great idea. I would purchase 7 of the same outfits for myself as an early childhood education instructor because I would come home each day with baby thow up , finger paint, or some other unknown substances on my clothing and it was OK. Know one cared that my staff rotated the same clothing until the item became unbearable. Lol By the way, you never told us what size you wear. 😂
Several years ago, on an Australian TV breakfast program, comments are often made about the female presenters' outfits. The male presenter/host wore the same suit for an entire year! No One Noticed!!
I do buy multiples. Not quite to the same extreme. Actually, last episode I was considering asking what brand your pants are, because I am a curvy girl with mobility issues and noticed that yours don't seem to pull weird, has pockets, and look comfortable. Also, is all that yellow on the ground stinknet, or has it reached you yet? Also, do you guys have many allergy issues? This is a major problem for me with working outside, if so how do you deal with them.
I’d love to find a shirt I love that much that I buy multiples !!! Love to know the brand you found Ashley And yes! The neck thing is important. Is there a tag??
I go into the men's department in Wal-Mart and buy Hans t-shirts about every five years or so, but I do buy them in different colors, so we may not be able to be friends. I was the one who saw you at the nursery on mother's day last year and chickened out of saying hello, but if I do see you again I will come up to you and say, " nice outfit!"😂❤
I have 8 locked gates on my ranch in Western Texas. Yes it's a pain but it's for safety, to keep PEOPLE out !!!! I use stock tanks for my raised garden beds due to a injury an I need the taller tanks for my garden, but it works!!! Yes I dress like that too! I can stain, paint and work cattle in them and I don't have to worry! Farming and ranching is dirty hard work!!!
My son-in-law wears the same clothes every day. He orders multiple black t-shirts and multiple jeans from Amazon. The only time he wears anything else is on the rare occasion he goes to a wedding, then he changes the t-shirt to a button up shirt. He looks fine, our daughter doesn't mind, it's a happy life :)
Thank you. Thank you, Thank you, for the no show of nudity! Modesty is always the best policy! You are living proof that your viewers are watching for true content!
After I retired I have gone back to my old Harley dealer shirts that I accumulated over my travels to Sturgis and Daytona bike weeks and my career doing contract work all over 38 states. As they finally wear out I bid them farewell. I've not bought jeans since 2009 and now only wear lounge pants, but although they are the same pants, they are in several colors. Life's too short to sweat the fashion scene and I've found MY comfort trumps (sorry) anyone else's bias. I'm outfitting my older RV with solar and searching for a place to spend out my final chapter...want a neighbor with 3 cats? G BUD
A little tip from a very old gardener--carefully loosen the compacted roots in your tiny plants when you take them out of the planting cups, that way they root faster, instead of continuing to grow tightly around the root ball. You'll notice the difference! 😘
I love you Ashley ❤ it’s so good to hear another woman being practical and beautiful at the same time! We don’t need “fashion” to define us. Life is more important than the clothes we wear…. I’m here in Vegas I wear my same leggings with pockets and black t shirt, black, plastic clogs. My eyewear might change or my hat but I’ve worn these pants (I have five of them) big t shirt (6 of them) and one of three hats, for the last 10 years… I don’t care as long as I’m compfy and I don’t look too strange in public- I call it “incognito mode” 😂 I wore a uniform to school as a kid and it feels similar-no hustle, no questions just practical!
Not the same necessarily, but you brought up a great memory of my mother. When she shopped she bought multiples of the same blouse/top when she found one she liked. Then she would buy matching slacks, skirt, dress, shorts, etc. so she would have sets. When I asked why, she explained that they would then wear/fade evenly - can't wear the same top with multiple bottoms, the top would fade from washing too quick to match other bottoms. LOL.
I wash my pajama sets(mix & match) all at the same time, so when they fade, it's even! I am of the old school. Why don't women's clothes have real pockets anymore? What is with the FAKE pockets!?!
Just saw an ad for The Classic Teeshirt Co. They looked really soft, 100% cotton and no side slits. Worth a look and lots of colors too, lol Happy shirt shopping🌷💕🌷
I used to do that with my shirts: black tee-shirt with flashy Hawaiin and floral print unbuttoned shirts on top. Now? I'm retired and rarely get dressed happy to write in my nightgown daily.
Ashley you have taken the 'capsule' wardrobe to a whole new level, I'm calling it the 'pocket wardrobe' . I live in Bali, so my wardrobe consists two sets of workout clothes, and 2 pairs of elephant print baggy cotton pants (plus 5 swimsuits, made by the same local tailor and a diving wetsuit). They don't last long so I need to replace them. The best thing you wear is your radiant smile and charming wit, and your clothing conundrum was a great part of this video. I am totally intrigued by that washing machine contraption too. I do have some trekking pants for the cold climate of NZ that I love and I do not want ANY OTHER pants. Like yours they are falling apart, and I can't find the same ones again. I go to large sports stores wearing my old pants and ask forlornly if they have any like them, sadly they never do, the brand and the size have worn off and they were a gift from a mountain guide friend.years ago. Those pants with the hole in the pocket, they have more life in them, sew them... maybe you get another years use.
Yes! There was a period of time when I found a tshirt I liked, there were not only skits on the sides but the back was 4” longer besides. Who the heck is designing this stuff?
My FAVORITE pair of pants are my paint pants! Every color of paint I've used over the years is on those pants. There are SO MANY paint splashes (& where I wiped my fingers!) on those pants that they're basically wearable art at this point!! They're original - and just FABULOUS!!
Great idea on the shirts! Our company provides shirts for all the employees, so consider those shirts your business uniform! I like the vegega beds, they look really nice
I have 5 identical hoodie sweatshirts that I wear everyday about 8 months of the year. I have 5 black turtlenecks to go with the hoodies( I live where its cold). Totally agree, i want to be able to get dressed in one minute and get on with the day. I'm with you Ashley!
We have one of those "paved" roads. It's like a rollercoaster...up, down, with side to side undulations. I figure it was paved late on a Friday and may have involved some beer drinking. 🤣 Just don't drive too fast on it or you will fly off and hit a tree! Ashley you have beautiful blue eyes that look great in any blue shirt 🌞😎🌻🐕
Who cares what you wear? That is so superficial. I love that the blue brings out the color of your eyes. I watch you for your positive content, and your knowledge of gardening in the desert. My daughter just moved to Hesperia, Calif. and is learning what she can grow. I love your channel. I keep trying to get her to get those metal raised beds. She has ground squirrels and jackrabbits, so I hope she listens.
Ashley you are just beaming!! FYI your not the only person who buys multiples of shirts and or pants!!! I do the same thing. Sometimes different colors😂. Doesn’t it feel great when you organize and clean things up. I love doing that. Great job!
I wore a uniform for the first 12 years of my life. When I had to choose my own clothes when I went to college, I had no idea what to do so I created my own uniform and worn the same three pairs of overalls and six shirts for my entire college career and then when I found a job outside of that, I wore the same 6 shirts and the same two pairs of jeans.
Let me tell you, Ashley, that you aren't the only one who buys clothes in bulk. I was bringing my washing in from drying on the clothesline and decided to count out how many T-shirts I have in my collection. I stopped counting at over 20 black ones, two white ones, and several blue ones. Now, several of the T-shirts mentioned above have seen better days, but then they become work shirts followed by cleaning rags - by the cleaning time they are pretty well stuffed. People around where I live here in Australia wouldn't recognise me without a black T-shirt and the dog would probably bite me if I started wearing anything else.
You're not alone in simplifying making choices in clothing. Aquiring trusted comfortable items that check all the boxes ( why the slits?🙀) is difficult, so yes buying 5 at a time is my go to work around for my own neurodivergent specificity. 😻
Steve Jobs, Josg Becker. Found a shirt they liked. Never changed. The only thing I'd like to see changed is chose a color that would flatter the color of your amazing eyes ! 💙 👀 💙
When I worked in an office, I hated having to spend energy thinking about what to wear each morning (not a morning person), and I despised wearing a nametag. I had 6 black silky polos made up, printed with the company logo and my name and credentials. I never again worried about what to wear or where I misplaced the dreaded nametag. Black pants, black polo, and black zipper front sweatshirt. Comfortable and appropriate. With your added stress of being on camera, I can imagine it makes life easier, knowing how the outfit is going to look when filmed.
It's a HOOSIER thing, maybe! I lived in Indiana my first 50 years. I just bought 3 more dresses because the first one is so comfortable. Comfy neck, soft material, right length, right width (one size fits all isn't one size fits all). They were all perfect, except for color. They don't come in simple blue. But they're all a similar pattern and similar colors. I LOVE that you wear the same comfy shirt. They look like they're a similar material to my dresses. (Oh, I only wear dresses.) I like your shirt!
I could watch and listen to Ashley all day. She's so funny. And I definitely agree about the shirts - I go for the multiple buys in 1 or 2 colours as well. Btw I thought Jonathan had these really comfy shirts. Don't tell me these are "for men only" 😂
I swear I can smell your cookies! You are such a caring and sharing family. If I worked as hard as you do and lived your life, I would have a the same 7 shirts and pants. I'm sure you have one nicer outfit in times of need. Why do people fill the need to tell you to or not to eat???
You are not alone. I worked in an office for 27 years. Always brought same dress pants different colors, five identical pair low heel shoes different colors, blouses/shirts were similar with a collar. When you find comfort, keep it.
I'm right here 5 pink 5 white 5 light orange. Walmart tees. They are not the greatest material but easy to replace. Plus, I have been saving older ones to do an art project. And 5 Amanda denim capris. All Walmart. 😮😅😊 Life is easy this way! That could be on a tee it's self. 😅 I got 3 Vegega beds last year.
Well. I have the same 6 cardigans all in different colours for work. Does it bother me? Absolutely not. They fit and I’m happy. Love your channel and the awesome family dynamics!!
Lol, Ashley! You are not the only one! I buy like 5-7 of the same type of pants and shirts, uniform style. For every day wear, bonus if they are "yoga" clothes. IE I can exercise, do yard work, sleep, go run errands or go out to eat. Basically I like a neutral multifunctional base of comfy all purpose clothes, that I can put on jackets/ accessories that work for the task and if I need a nap, I don't wrinkle or feel like a prisoner in. Needless to say, I usually wear black, navy blue, grey, teal, t-shirt/tunic style tops, and black or grey pants. I really like black leggings, or the looser yoga pants, both with the higher waist. I like that I can basically just grab a top and a pant, and be dressed without thinking about it. The only drawback to doing that is pretty much they all wear out around the same time, so at some point it's like "dang, I have to go shopping or I'm gonna be nude." The worst is not being able to find good replacements that are as comfy. Although being a woman with a chest and broader shoulders, I usually end up buying t-shirts from the men's section and take in the side seams just a little to create some curve. The fabric is better, necks are nice and I can usually find a 3 pack for the price of one womens tee that you can see thru and will be pretty much be a rag by the 10th wash. Sorry for the clothes ramble. 😂 I hope ya find a shirt you like!
Not only do I buy the same shirt and pants, shoes as well. About 3 pair at a time. Cause they will sell out before I get back to a store to find them all gone and have to settle for another style. Don't like that. I have about 45 T-shirts not sure how many pants and shorts. I hate shopping. If I get several at a time when I see what I want, don't have to go back. I live in Chattanooga. My son built our garden beds out of 2x4"s and roofing metal. They are 3" tall. I"m 4" 9" tall. Don't have to bend over and as much. Have 50 green beans planted in each side. Use PVC pipe bent over for plastic covering when needed. Works perfect. Those cookies looks so good. Love your videos, like your washer/wringer machine. You all are so smart.
Yup, I have 3 or 4 " sets" of shirts.....only decision is what colour do I like today? Same with the jeans.....no planning ,just reach in and grab a pair 😂
Haha Ashley. I wish I was smart enough to buy 5 - 7 of the same every time I find something I like. I have the hardest time finding pants that fit and shirts that don’t drive my sensory issues into high gear. Last summer, I decided to experiment with hand sewing a medieval style linen tunic. I thought I was making it for my costume collection but it’s so comfy in the summer heat that I wore it all the time😂. Definitely planning to make some more this year.
I do the same thing with long sleeve t-shirts from Croft and Barrow (Kohl's). At age 55 I now do white and pastels. That is what I wear most days, but my lounge wear and pajama collection are straight skittles, from concert t-shirts to elegant gowns to a big fluffy soft onesie with cat ears on the hood. I wear them all. You have 4 kids and a husband; you do not yet have the available bandwidth in your brain for anything but a uniform. We get you! Your smile is so wonderful you could pull off wearing burlap.
When I was redoing my first floor after I retired, I wore shirts I bought at a garage sale that got paint all over them. I stripped in the garage, through the shirts in the garbage and shorts down the stairs to be washed. My sister was in a lot of walks and I purchased them for 15 cents each. I am a slob when painting!!
I LOVE THIS! From the very first moment, Ashley…❤! And, you are not alone! Decision fatigue is a real thing. My husband is exactly the same with his wardrobe. Since I shop for him, he gets a few different colors in t-shirts and shorts. My work wardrobe consists of 2 pairs of black pants and various black and white or black and gray shirts. Simple. It frees up bandwidth for more important things like cooking, baking, projects! ❤
Thanks for recording two neighbours who received the Vegega garden beds! It makes gardening easier! And I hope you find that next “T-Shirt” that you like (I am not a fan of split sides either!
The quality of the video of the Vegega gifting garden beds demonstrated a tremendous advertising talent! All of your videos have always had great content, visuals, humor, music, suspense, and cheer. I really appreciate your hard work! I do worry about the sun on you. You can buy sleeves, wraps shirts, etc. that are made of a material that gets cold if snapped while wet and has a very high SPF. I can't imagine being in the sun without mine. I stay covered yet cool and no sun damage. Mission, was the original brand name but, TEMU has a nice selection at half the cost. I hope you take a look into it. Great job! Thank you and stay well! ❤
Nice to see the "dudes" in the morning! I'm sure you have plenty of shirts. I love how the blue shirts bring out your eyes! Sorry, I only have t-shirts that I have several of but they are different colors! Laundry done outdoors has to be nice. So 10 shirts with 6 blue and 4 black t-shirts! Yum, browned butter chocolate chip cookies! Your friends must LOVE you! Oats too! That looks delectable! Pizza! Your friends Tracy and Paul! That's great that Vegega did this for your friends! The flagstones look nice! A little hügelkultur in the bottom. Great dirt and soil! Getting enough plants for the beds. Nice rosemary plant! Strawberries and marigolds. Mint maybe, the big one? Parsley, tomato, and cilantro? The hibiscus is really pretty. Your garden looks very nice guys! Love the idea of the truck camper. I might have to live in my truck soon. That camper is nice! Nice job Tom! Cool, delivering another set of Vegega raised beds and I like the green! I like the new bed! I love the clean-up in the solar shed! Thanks Jett for putting the dirt and goat manure for the garden raised beds. I hope your friend Selina (Selena?) liked her raised beds! That's so nice of you guys to gift them to your friends. I'm sure she'll love the pork chops and sausage from your pigs. Thanks for this great video Longnecker family!
Loved this vid! Keeping it simple Ashley, love it. Man I am going to have to make those cookies! I don’t know how you kept from eating them on the way! Nice seeing yall help friends. That lil camper os is cool! He did a great job
Totally with you on the cloths, looking at my washing line is embarrassing. All the same blue jeans, long sleeve black t-shirt blue cable knit jumper. So easy, don't have to think. Helps with video continuity too 😊
In a way, it's like wearing a uniform. As for clothing selections, it all depends on several factors: styles, available sizes, cost, durable and environmentally effective materials (heat or cold), and even colors. I was in the military for 20 years and worked at USPS for another 10 processing mail. I used products from Duluth Trading Company and Arctic Cool - they have large sizes, are made with heat and cooling durable materials, and have reasonable colors. You may find them a little expensive. There are others I'm sure. Good luck in your hunt.
I have the same style shirt in different colors and I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I have about 15 of them for winter with long sleeves. About 10 of them with short sleeves for summer. I work at a membership warehouse and every year they come out with some new colors and I just keep adding on. They never wear out and are under $10 so they have accumulated. I don’t care, I love them. They feel soft and worn in even when they’re brand new.
I came here to say, finally, someone who knows how to hang laundry on the line properly! 😂 but that’s how I dress too, I have 5 pairs of identical pants and this winter I got really brave and bought identical shirts but in DIFFERENT colours! Amazing🎉
I'm a nurse. Scrubs every work day. I have lots of colors, but almost all are the exact same style. When I wash I hang them on the left side of the closet. Don't repeat colors in the row. When I dress, I pull the first set from the right. No thinking, just grab one.
Shopping's a annoying , but here's how I keep it simple: - Black socks, because who has time for matching? - Eight pack of the same undies in different colors - they come in a pack i dont care for the colors - Any free black shirts I can snag - A couple of pairs of jeans, cut into jorts when they get old - Two jackets, one for warmth, one for cool. - three hoodies - A new pair of hiking boots, plus some old faithfuls for the rough days on the job.
Same here. I have two types of pants, work and public. Same with shirts, but mix up the colors. I can't recommend a female shirt. Only suggest light color for outside sunny work, dark for cooler days. My biggest criteria is 100% cotton. William
Every few years, I pick 3 or 4 colors of shirts & 2 or 3 colors of pants and buy multiples of each. They are all in same color range, so you can mix & match without much thought.
I love your wardrobe. Don't change a thing 😊👌 Hopefully you get that tractor and automatic gate opener soon. Those garden beds are more affordable than I thought they would be. If we didn't have so many cattle supplement tubs we would definitely be interested.
I have about 10 black t shirts all from the same company. I wear different pants but always the black tshirt. I too am waiting for my automatic gate opener! That was too funny. I know you’re going to get it! I just adore you guys~ always so optimistic and great sense of humor. Hard working people 💚☀️💚
I do the same thing. Because I am a big girl, it is hard to find clothes that fits. Lately, I have been buying sports wear with that dry weave for absorption. Tops in v neck 3x and same for pants. Dry weave, all the way.
When I find a shirt I like, I buy two in every color. I do have dedicated clothes for painting, DIY projects, etc. Those clothes have varying amounts of paint on them as well. I do the same with shoes.
❤ total workout the washing machine .... same deal Ashley re shirts, i do exactly the same wearing they are practical and on the homestead they are ideal.
I have about 10 t-shirts (all from Walmart - men’s department - v-neck $10 each). I wear them all summer around the house, gardening, cooking, cleaning, napping, and sometimes to bed!😍🇨🇦
Nice to see the lovely Ashely again. Also, I do have several grey long T-Shirts and perfectly understand the feeling of "oh please, I don't wanna think about outfit!!"
I wear the same comfortable outfit or dress, but different colors. Love the lunch & cookies. Saw the eggs, how nice of you. Nice visit with your friends. Beautiful scenery.😘💖🥰
Yes Ashley, I like to get the same outfit in multiples when I find something I like. As a matter of fact, I have two outfits that I've had for about 23 years. They've been mended many times, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of them. The biggest change I've made in the area of clothing is footwear. Two years ago I went to barefoot shoes and now I won't get anything but that. Loved what you all did with gifting garden beds to your friends! And the giant cookie was beautiful! Your friends are truly blessed to have you all in their lives❤
You know what? You have more important stuff to do besides wasting time trying to figure out what to wear. I thought I was the only one! I LOVE your transparency ❤!
100% have multiples of the staple favorites in my wardrobe!!! Pants-6 identical, tunic-5 identical, tank- 5 different colors but same top. If it’s perfect don’t fix it!
My son who is now almost 20 when I would buy him school clothes he would just want a 10 pack of t-shirts. He would chose a different color every year. Black gray or white. ❤😊
