4:52 - Ok this isn't discussed in the movie, but, Scott has met her mom. They met on the bus together. She knows their dating and mom seems to consent either passively or explicitly. Plus it's detailed THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING. They almost held hands and she got embarrassed. I'm not saying its right per say, but nobody's in the dark about it either as far as her parents are concerned. Now if nobody knew, THEN it'd be effing creepy.
