Sorry if the music is a bit too loud. I tried to bring the music volume down in editing but for some reason came out louder once I uploaded it to RU-vid. We will be working hard to improve this in upcoming videos. We really appreciate any input and feedback.

Jay & Eleinne, I would add an AIR HORN to your Bear Spray protection, I've seen an Air Horn work to scare off bears when shouting did NOT work, plus can scare off moose & other wild animals & will save you on ammunition on warning shots. You're doing a great job with your property, thanks for sharing! 😊

IMO a electric fence around your tent would be a very good investment to keep the critters away. Also it would give you piece of mind at night and when your away! Bears can really cause a lot of damage and could really tear up you very nice tent! Be safe!!!
@JayAndEleinne
@JayAndEleinne Месяц назад
Yeah, electric fencing is very effective with bears and moose. There will be no food or anything scented in the tent, we've spent many years and have a lot of experience camping with black and brown bears so we are not really worried about them. Our trash and food will all be locked in a metal box and/or the shed we will build next, and over 100 feet away.

Hey guys, loving your content and i would like to help you guys by saying that for the old truck start with the simplest easiest fix first, get a mass airflow sensor spray and clean it( should be halfway thru the black rubber sleeve that goes from the filter box to the throttle body), just take it out, unplug it and clean the sensor itself and its plug, also change the air filter thats inside the big box too, further steps would be to take out the throttle body and clean it with throttle body spray, you may want to but a gasket for it when you put it back, and lastly may want to do a spark plug and cables replacement. Hope it helps and keep on going 😁

@JayAndEleinne
@JayAndEleinne Месяц назад
We won't be doing the wood stove in the tent. Since it's only being used in nice climate we will just have our little tent heater as a backup in there. But anything about 40 degrees and we are good. If the cabin isn't done by the cold fall then we might need one though.
@Rob-ji7fx
@Rob-ji7fx 25 дней назад
I have that same tent, it's the second one, the first one the seam around the base rotted out, check your seam, you can water proof it w mineral oil and wax, but if it's like the first one I used if you don't seriously waterproof the canvas seam that is sewn to the floor, it will rot out within a few weeks. It's a bad design because the seam gets saturated and never dries. The rubberized floor material is excellent, if it extended a bit up the walls the tent would never fail. I also started having an issue w mold on the white roof material, I quickly eliminated that w vinegar. I used a camp chef tent wood stove in temperatures down to 10 F, the tent easily stayed between 70 and 80 degrees. However, you will get condensation on your bedding, I solved the problem w wool blankets. If you're going to burn wood, get the 8ft awning, wet or damp wood sucks in a tent stove. The awning is a life saver once it gets cold because a damp wood pile will dry in it.

For the RPM jumping up and down a couple hundred RPM when going constant speed, I would say it’s the transmission torque converter going in and out of lockup. With you have an electrical issue telling it to do that or the converter itself if bad

@JayAndEleinne Месяц назад
Thank you for that. I forgot to mention also in the video that the overdrive light is flashing also. Related?

Hey J&E! I'm glad to see that you got your video finished up! Thanks for the mention, I truly appreciate it! About your truck -- what you are seeing is the torque converter clutch (TCC) engaging and disengaging. It is an electronic actuator in the transmission's torque converter, which reduces your rpm when it is engaged to save fuel. Generally it engages around 50mph, and you will see the rpm drop slightly while cruising. If you accelerate, the TCC disengages and the RPM's go back up slightly. If the road is gently rolling up and down hills, or depending on your driving habits, you'll notice the TCC engaging and disengaging. Generally this is normal. If it is happening excessively it becomes a nuisance, but it won't cause any damage. On older vehicles the TCC could be unplugged if it was acting up, though yours is likely too new for that. If you put the truck in "Tow" mode using the button on the shift lever, it will keep the truck out of overdrive, and also prevent the TCC from engaging. You will notice the truck running at higher RPM's and it will drop your fuel mileage if you keep it in tow mode. If you have any questions on it let me know, I tried to keep the explanation simple. Great progress, I'm looking forward to seeing the review of the tent. -Dusty
@JayAndEleinne
@JayAndEleinne Месяц назад
Wow, thank you so much for that detailed answer. I love learning and understanding new things. If it's not causing excessive damage I'm fine with letting it be. It does happen specifically at the speeds and in the hilly areas as you mentioned. I got this thing so cheap I can handle a few little issues.
