I cannot believe that it ran and started as easy as it did. You've inspired me to get my mazda REPU going as a rat-rod instead of a super nice restoration. I already have a 13bt and now it just needs some floors, brakes and tires to pass here I think!
Please do You will enjoy it and people will love seeing it. I would rather see a car with some character driven then a car in a shed for 5 years. I seen my first REPU in real life today love them.
Really enjoyed this video. A mate of mine had one of these in the early 1990's - it was mint. He wanted new piston rings installed, no idea. One weekend we dropped the sump and pulled the head with engine still in the car, pushed the pistons up through the block from underneath. Was all back together and running by Sunday. Happy Days - I can still hear Rat Cat playing on JJJ.
I smiled the whole way through this video!! Takes me back to the days of paddock bashers at our family farm!! Once made a dato convertable!! She was my favourite machine!! ❤😀👍👌
That thing is mint . My favorite part was him smoking a cigarette next to the gas tank with a rag top . This gives throwing caution to the wind meaning . The good old days are right now !
I actually want to see more of this Rotsun from wherever in the part of the world you are, if it can come back from being a thrashed rally car then who knows what possibilities lay in store for it!
It’s beyoodiful! Great feelin to get a build runnin and then run the gauntlet and drive it on the street. Outstanding work gentlemen. You should be proud of y’selves!
This thing’s incredible sits in a field for years with no hood yet it cranks up like it was yesterday what a reliable little fella give it some more lovin and take it into town get people’s reactions to it 😂
I dont even know where to begin with this one. Love watching you boys just have fun lol. I guess trailer skids are so last season, limo roof skids are hot!
Everything about this video is wrong!! Now every hillbilly “like me” is going to try and get any old, forgotten and left behind vehicle going again from young teenager to old man!! I love it…!!❤❤❤💪🏼🔥🔥🔥
You do the coolest thing bringing these cars back to life!!! Reminds me of what i do here in America but you’re way way faster lol and way crazier!! Also Takes me a year and you 2weeks!!! I hope your buds back is ok that was some serious air time!!
Thanks mate. Oh it doesn’t matter how long it take just good your doing it at all. America seems to have all the cool old cars sitting around. He is young his back will be mint.
Haha nice... Favourite feature for me, is the keep left sign impregnated in the rear guard, almost certainly from one of her last thrashings.. I'd love to see that as a permanent fixture 👌
it just makes me happy. i drove everything home in my day. never thought about what could go wrong. this just bring back memories of tiping fuel in shit till it runs
Lol we lapped our P plater cars just as slammed 18yrs ago. Still got one ke20 i had as young fella, was going to chop it up n scrap it. Now think ill get her running. Reverse the leaf springs chop the front, was standard as soon as you brought a lappy. 😅
This just highlights exactly why I’m proud to be an Adelaide local 😂🤘🏻 I’m just wondering how well ya get on with the other industrial park tenants within earshot and more importantly visual range 🤣😂🤣. Keep the awesomeness comin dude. Still listening out for that 20B PP to brap its way down Military Rd one weekend 😉 BTW at 3:55 - that’s a high grade riggers knot at the car end of that sling 😂
Hahah and local to you. Come past one day if you like man, my neighbours all enjoy the madness. I will drive past in the next few weeks give it some extra revs for you.
Reminds me of my dad’s old paddock badger one that looked just like this one except he jerry rigged the engine and front suspension from a Subaru 1600 into it it was pretty sketchy though the front and rear wheels were totally different and the front suspension was held together with box section and angle iron
Used to have one of those Datsun 1200 I bought it as a cheap runabout it was in better condition than that I would say it was in excellent condition mine wasn't running the original motor it was running a Datsun 120Y motor I found out later on the difference is where the distributor is on the motor fun little car to drive specially on long trips
Top work Jay & Mitch spewing I missed the premiere last night what a banger of a Datto!!! Would have been better after a few beers and a bunger instead of coffee and toast keep that shit up boys 🤣👍🍻
