DaBaby killed a guy at that WalMart. Not even kidding. So they came to Charlotte to film this (I live like 20 minutes from the speedway). I'm like 90% sure the intro is at the Walmart in Huntersville. I recognize the retaining walls. Which means, Matt and Ryan bought their NASCAR outfits at the Walmart where DaBaby shot and killed a man.

Ryan's smoke break does not seem excessive like your friend's dad who sounds like an asshole. When I used to be a smoker, I realized how frustrating it must be to wait on someone who is smoking, and would suck the cigarette down just enough to get me through however long the drive was going to be.
