9:40 Claire waited 8 years for this dog, but at this moment she controlled all her excitement in pure consideration not to overwhelm the puppy, she's really too kind and emotionally considerate beyond words!!

Claire is so wise beyond her age. I'm so proud!

My tears began when Claire began teaching her siblings how to let the dog have her space to sniff and get acclimated to the house and let her come to them so she wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Her heart and soul reflects the love and compassion of our Lord. Bless little River and the happiness she brings to your home. Bless the Crosbys, each and every one 🙏🏻🌈☀️💝

Dave & Ashley, what a wonderful gift you have given your family, in particular Claire. Because of you, Claire has learned about patience, discipline, trust and love. You committed to getting her a puppy when she was 10 because you thought it was best for your family to wait...and then you delivered on your promise. How proud you must be of how Claire encouraged all the kids to put the puppy's needs (when she first came home) above their own despite their excitement. Claire has always been a beautiful soul and she continues to shine brightly as she gets older. So much of this video moved me to tears, but nothing compared to Millie's "she's dead". I suspect that clip will be shown at her wedding one day lol. Claire, Carson, June & Millie, I hope you have THE BEST TIME with River. She is one lucky dog.

I was 10 when my family finally decided to grant me my wish that I held close to my heart for years - And that was my wish of getting a Golden Retriever puppy. I even saved some of my money from birthdays/Christmases to help buy things for her. That dog was the most incredible Christmas present I ever received. ❤️ she was in our lives for 14 years. I went through the rest of Primary school with her, the whole of high school, university and my first year of working. She sat with me while I studied and worked and just knew when I was sad or stressed ❤ She passed away in 2019 but will always be my "sister" ❤.

Claire shows so much maturity beyond her age. The footage of her 10th Birthday and her looking right towards the camera from that I can tell she's going to have a bright future ahead of her. Carsons reaction to the puppy news is like when you're in heaven surrounded by so many puppies. Oh my god ❤. Wait till she starts chewing shoes and everything. I loved the footage at the end, like you would see in a TV AD. I want a puppy now.

I love how all the kids stood very quite and calm and didn't rush over in the dogs face or scream loud in it's face they let him come to them and that is exactly how it should be done you let them explore and come to you instead of overcrowding them or being loud in their faces like how a lot of kids do . We adopted an 8 month old Labradoodle a few wks ago from a rescue and I was so happy to have Annie! Later realized she was born the day after our sweet sweet Sara Grace passed away!! June 19,22 and June 20,22 Annie came to life!! We just got to have her 8 months later!

I honestly got very emotional watching this. You did such an amazing job capturing the early years of Claire wanting a dog to the present time with all of the siblings...All that anticipation and excitement was so obvious on their faces! Then, to see River's reaction meeting everyone for the first time was just so adorable! She was just as excited to meet all of you as much as you were to meet her. What a very lucky dog!

"She's dead!!" Oh, sweet Millie!! I laughed so hard I woke up my sweet pups who were sleeping beside me!! And, June asking about stress!! So remarkable and funny!! This precious dog has landed in the right family, for sure!! Claire is so responsible, Carson so giving, and all of the family are full of love!! Congratulations! As far as dog messes go, I use something called My PET Peed! It's pricey, but gets everything out! I have four, including a newly adopted five year old who is not catching on too quickly! So, daily "piddle patrols" and spraying and mopping!!!😮 All worth it!! Love to all!!

You're family are the perfect example of excellent with knowledge and handling of especially a newcomer dog into the household, its exactly what you should do to help a puppy settle into their new home. I love how Claire is so switched on with how to let puppy get to know you at her (dog's) own pace. River certainly has the very best home she could be in, thats for sure. The marshmallow experiment (remember?) conclusively showed that the ability to wait was one of the single most important character traits for success. Congrats on the new puppy! 2 bits of advice 1) crate train, make the crate the best place ever where the puppy is fed and gets treats (it will help her sleep at night with one of the heartbeat toys) 2) get your puppy into training asap

I remember like a little over a year ago we were told we are getting a dog and for s split second I though "they ar just joking" but then thought "they wouldn't do that, OH MY GOSHHHHH" and then started crying lol I could feel the excitement when y'all were telling them it made me smile!
