So we’ve got some new Assassin’s Creed red information that’s just been released, and also some stuff from the past few weeks that I have not talked about yet on this channel, and whether these new "leaks" that got released just yesterday are accurate or not. I still want to share them with you for discussion.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. Mirage was originally meant to be a DLC of Valhalla, thats why most of the animations were the same. Whereas origin/odyssey/Valhalla all ad differents animations and pacing. So it's most likely going to be the same for the next flagship title

I don't think they will. I could have sworn that I heard they're using a new engine and that it'll have stuff like going prone and putting out torches and stuff. Plus the architecture of Japanese buildings is a lot different to Egypt and Greece. I doubt they'll be sharing the same animations. But if they do so help me...

If a game is good, it's good. If it's bad, it's bad. Keeping low expectations won't change that in the slightest, nor will it affect my enjoynment (or lack thereof) of the game.

This dual character thing sucks so badly, especially when they have different playstyles. It's downright frustrating when you want to follow up on one character or continue using a specific playstyle but is forced to progress with the one you like the least just so you can get back to the content you actually want to see.

@@Dub257 it forces you to, that's the problem. There are games that do this well. You can complete a whole arc or most of the game with one character, and you are only forced to switch at the moment of convergence at the end of the story. AC, however, just doesn't do this well. Even in Origins, Aya can have a radically different build than you, and you are still forced into active combat with her

Saboteur was pretty much greatest example that you can make a game about assassin in ww2 that includes both mele combat, gunfight, parkour, changing outfits to infiltrate bases of enemies. Ubisoft could pull this off, but well... Im not sure what would come first. Collapse of ubisoft or WW themed ac game.

I heard that the original plan was that desmond would get all the pieces of the apple, and the ability of all ezio altair connor and 1 or 2 more, and be the ultimate assassin that could travel back in time with apple and shit

I hope they did mo-cap this time man, especially for the facial animations. And another big expectation of mine is that the game has to have proper weight/physics presentation this time, like those of Black Flag/Unity/Syndicate. Especially the initiate duology.

Yasuke was never a samurai so yeah, they always get it wrong. He was a servant for a feudal lord (samurai).

Yeah they just looked at him like some kind of animal (no offense but this is what I read about him because he was the first black person they had saw). Other than that there is nothing about him especially something great. He was never a samurai beacuse japannese wouln't allow to have foreigners as samurai. This whole idea of a black guy who ended up in Japan an he became a samurai and did a lot of fights etc., is fu** ing joke.

Most of this Worries me. It can be done right but knowing ubisoft this is very unsettling especially if its real. Mythological Elements: I like mythological elements in these games and to be fair we sort of always had them starting from ac3 from what i remember. I just dont like how they were converted into Boss Battles and blown out of porportion in the RPGS. I hope they tone it down so it doesnt feel like its completely Unrealistic. 60/40 and the DLC: This one worries me the most. I just dont like the fact that Yasuke has more time to develop his story than Naoe and than Naoe getting her own DLC. This can go one of two ways in my mind. Yasuke gets more screentime because he dies and than we get a Naoe DLC which makes sense and is the best option, or we can get a ubisoft classic which is underdevelop Naoe's story than give her a DLC to finish her story. The last one seems more likely to me but we will have to see, i may be overexaggerating this one but Ubisoft has forged this worry into me. Im not going to talk about the Revenge Story because we have seen it before and is a good Drive for a character. I hope ubisoft doesnt mess this up because if these leaks are true there is no middle ground for these leaks, its either good or bad. (Edit) I want to also mention how i hope Yasuke will be taught stealth by Naoe because if we are spending more time with Yasuke i dont want to be forced to go around and fight everyone i want to be stealthy. He may not be up to the level of Naoe in stealth but i dont want it to be a disadvantage to choose stealth like it is in Odyssey and Valhalla.

There is little to no historical evidence Yasuke ever was a samurai. All the evidence points at him being little more than an arms bearer for his master, Oda Nobunaga. If Ubisoft wants to keep their claims of being historically accurate, Yasuke won't be the main character. Not as a samurai anyway.

Im so glad they're going with revenge story. Im a sucker for good revenge stories and it was my main goal when going through Origins. A great dad energy Bayek having someone force him to kill own child was unforgivable and killing the order of the ancients felt so satisfying. I hope it delivers well

Splitting the protagonist role is never a good idea. However, if it is as they did in Syndicate is a bit more salvegable. As long as they don't do the same ridiculous and stupid thing they did in Origins with Aya. The supernatural aspects still bother me since they'll just do actual magical and mythical things instead of the somewhat realistic Isu technology stuff.

Even in Syndicate there's a clear deterioration in the game's writing because of it. That's one thing I hate about the modern RPGs; pick a single character, please. Male, Female, Transgender, A potted plant... I don't care as long as they're given the proper time to develop and be written well.

Right now I’m doing replay through old ACs to get platinums and Odyssey surprising me with secret cut scenes if I finish tasks before missions give me them. Like the first mythical animal, has a secret cut scene. As much as the game ain’t very assassin creed it has vastly more thought put into it than Valhalla in terms of world building

Like i don't mind the dual character thing at all since we had that with Syndicate and technically Odyssey. But my thing is Yasuke would need to be heavily worked on cause he did not see a single form of combat when under Oda Nobunaga, he was just basically a pet to oda as oda though Yasuke as a exotic pet to him and Yasuke just only handled the swords and was just a retainer. Like don't mind the dual thing they'll just need to heavily make it work.

The DLC for Naoe kinda makes up for the 40% screen time she has in the main story, and I appreciate it. Maybe Yasuke would be off to another land and a new threat appears while he's gone and it's up to her to deal with it. But that will depend since it's an RPG and it may have multiple endings which in turn, have multiple consequences from the main game. But that's my speculation.

I think they should dive into the genetic manipulation and splicing animals and humans that we know exists in the real world, and the Templars in-game are certainly capable of doing. Do it in a realistic and grounded way.

I hate having to switch characters. I also hope I can ignore the magical fantasy parts. I prefer a more realistic experience in AC. I ignored the magic in Origins and Odyssey. Then I tried a bit in Valhalla, and most definitely hated it.

Lately I've been itching to play games taking place during the Sengoku period and featuring demons and yokai after watching anime like Inuyasha and Sengoku Youko. I wouldn’t mind if AC Japan implements these elements. Only problem is, it’s Ubisoft so they will probably find a way to screw these up.

Even I have to complement your editing skills. Very sleek, very well done. I'll be making my own video though it won't be good as yours or the exile, but I'll give it a go. I also finally see what you meant in our previous conversations, and honestly, I'd rather be better at making my own content than making substandard stuff. You'll see improvement. Also nothing WRONG with mythological characters or mythology. It is just the way ancient societies saw it as in that day. And mythology will sell, Japanese games are full of it. Congrats on getting to 40k!

Not everyone has a PS5 or plans to buy a PS. So I expect the people who wanted to play GoT and the new Ronin game will likely get AC Red to satisfy that craving. I wanted to play GoT, but there's no way I'm wasting money to buy a PS5 just to play GoT.

It's not about yasuke being black it's about chosing the only black man in the samurai era who represents only 0,000001% of that time instead of chosing a japanese male protagonist. One who really had some impact on the history of Japan of that time if ubisoft wanna play so bad the ,,this real history" card. All of this beacuse multiculturalism. Even if Naoe as the single protagnist would have been much better.

Instantly turned off by the mythology stuff. It was ok in origins where in the main game it was just lore that the Egyptians believed in like with the stone circles and in mirage where the Jinn is just a manifestation of Loki’s trauma within Basim. But in odyssey and Valhalla the mythology stuff was easily the worst parts for me, I don’t play assassins creed to fight mythical beings and it should never be like that. There are other games for that. Instant turn off

The mobile game is called Assassin's Creed Jade and it's already out from what I know. This is Assassin's Creed Red, and it's a console/PC release mainline game.

I kinda like supernatural elements for japan especially because their folklore and urban culture is somewhat mesmerizing for me because i have a thing for japan culture Ubisoft gonna better hit this up high and not boasting about it like S&B or they gonna flop hard Other than that i’d love to have more history accuracy in the game than play as someone idk in valhalla or odyssey

If they did the mythological elements in a dream state sort of way like in Valhalla I’d probably be ok with it. However no isu experiment BS please. Ngl the only game I’ve ever seen which has a satisfying dual protagonist system is a way out, so I’d rather they didn’t but they are so I hope I’ll at least get to switch between naoi and yasuki in the open world.!

Ive been playing this franchise for 15 years and the one thing i learned is, hold no hope, I assume every game they make is going to suck. I have no faith in this franchise any longer and will simply wait for the game to be released put on an 80% sale price then buy it. Just like i did with Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage. AC died with Desmond.

I just want Red to have: A more streamlined and focused narrative, which is tough in an open world game but we've seen it done well before. More diversity in regards to how you can build your character, and not just 'get all skills and the best weapon in the game'. Actual interesting locations that might not be/look 100% historically accurate but are beautiful and fun to explore. I get that being historically accurate is kind of AC's thing, but I much prefer when a location is set up like a black box or fun playground than simply being 1:1 real world accurate. Actual interesting characters and not just a million one note copy paste forgettable people you talk to a dozen times and then never again. My biggest issue with the stories of the latest games is that SO many of the characters are forgettable. Finally, get back on track with a single, straightforward Assassins vs Templay/Order plot and Isu storyline. I've felt like the past 3 games have almost been filler or a waste of time, compared to AC1, 2, 3, etc. For me, things went off the rails once Desmond died, we stopped following his ancestry, and the Isu plot moved along in fucking comics and not the main game. We're not following a singluar story, but just jumping from random Assassin to random Assassin, no Isu artefacts and no real progression in the present day battle vs the Templars.
