They are the gate keepers. We will get past them, and when we do we will win the World Series. Thank you, Katie Day. Your words and music mean so much to us!
I just want to say that there is not another song out there that captures this season as well as this one. AWWWWSOME!! You ma'am are to be commended! The lyrics move me especially " we know what you came here for... but this city wants it more" Beautiful.
The Cubs are in the World Series!! Keep watching this 10+ times a day.. Lets do this whole thing! After we clinched last night, me and dad jumped up hugged and then began to get emotional, and even a few tears!
I was listening to this song all during the 10th inning. I was beyond belief when Kris threw the ball to Rizzo and got the final out. This is a team to be reckoned for years to come. #FlytheW
Chills and smiles with a little goose bump action for good measure. Perfect thing to watch before tonight's game 7 WORLD SERIES game. Lets do this boys... Thank you Katie Day!
I am 34 years old, from MS. Been a Cubbie my whole life. Watching this video and others today and crying like a little baby. GO CUBBIES! Harry we did it!!!
Only a (Cubbie Blue) Blooded lifelong CUBBIES FAN can understand how awesome this video really was! It is something we understand in our hearts, in our souls, but is so deep and so emotional and so personal and so complex that it is not something we can even describe to someone who does not bleed Cubbie Blue! You either know OR you will NEVER know! NO ONE can explain it, the words do not exist! You have to literally have experienced what we have gone through. An entire lifetime dedicated to the love of one team, never giving up, never jumping off any wagon, bleeding with them game in and game out and remaining true to a team that has NEVER won the World Series, in the lifetime of anyone who could possibly remember the last time! This shit was more emotional than becoming a parent for the first time! That is saying a fucking lot! I was never more proud of anyone in my life than the day my wife beat the predictions of several doctors who said she would never bare a child and did just that! That was in 2007, I welled up, I smiled for hours, I stared in amazement, I felt the greatest feelings inside myself but then this happened in 2016 and after 38 Years, 7 months, 14 days, 10 hours and 35 minutes of my life, I got to see what no living Human Being had ever seen before, I saw the Cubbies win the world series, I saw them win even though the umps tried desperately to screw them over yet again, I watched as the umps called a ball on a 2 out strike 3 pitch right down the middle of the plate which would have ended the inning and precluded 2 undeserved runs for Cleveland which if they had not gotten those 2 runs they likely would not have gotten the others cause they never would have developed any momentum without them! I watched as God himself said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! And the rains came and the reset button was able to be pushed! I watched as a team who had lost a massive lead to become tied in the 8th inning of game 7, which in any other mint in this teams history would have crumbled us instantly and would have destroyed the hearts of 99 out of 100 teams, go down into their strength and conditioning room and the man who had provided the least power, the least scoring, the least everything other than defense sit there and call a meeting among the players and REMIND THEM ALL JUST WHO THE FUCK THEY WERE... WE ARE THE CUBS! WE NEVER QUIT! OUR FANS NEVER QUIT ON US AND WE AIN'T GONNA QUIT ON THEM! And they came out and they gave this city the greatest gift they could ever give a city, They gave us the greatest joy Chicago as a whole could ever ask for... They gave us the Commissioners Trophy to the North Chi! DA CUBBIES WON IT ALL! 108 excruciating years and yes I know my emotions do not match the 80 year olds who's gone through twice as many years as I have, waiting, praying, hoping and drowning in their sorrows year after painful year and I am even more happy for them than I am for me for that reason, I cried uncontrollably for 45 minutes when we won it all and the people I was most happy for were my fellow Chicagoan's who were also my elders! The older the better! to this day I watch videos like this and what gets me crying the fastest again is not the final out although that does get me, what gets me hardest is seeing my fellow Chicagoan celebrating, seeing them crying, them falling to the floor on their knees, seeing them raise their hands in victory, I am so damned happy for them! As much and more than even for myself. This wasn't about my lifelong fandom, this wasn't even about the team themselves, this was about the City of Chicago, finally releasing that perpetual gasp of air that we took in every time we had a chance and gave it up, every time fate came and ruined it for us again, I do not believe in curses, I absolutely call hogwash on the entire notion of the goat and the curse, it's all bullshit! BUT, The legend of it was holding us back and I am thoroughly thankful to Maddon for bringing us a team that just didn't care about all that nonsense, didn't have time to think about that stupid lie which plagued our minds for all those years. That shit was like a cancer on our souls, It had no place! Yeah Joe almost blew it relying too heavily on Chappy, Yeah he pulled Hendricks too soon but we won anyway! And we did because we didn't have any stupid goat on our minds! We did it because the 2016 squad did not know the meaning of Quit! But as I said before, none of this will explain it to anyone who does not already understand lol Was this the happiest day of my life? NO! Was it the most emotional day of my life? No, was it the most emotionally happy day of my life YES! Like I said you can only understand if you lived it, If you bled Cubbie blue from day 1 and I don't mean teenagers lol I mean you are 30 plus maybe even 35 plus and been bleeding Cubbie Blue your whole damn life! EPIC VIDEO!!! Thank you for making it!
Just a heads up, I have been listening to this on my way to school and it not only fills the void of not being able to watch the Cubs right now but it also pumps me up for class. It sounds so damn good. Thank you for this. #GoCubsGo
When this video goes to v2.0 updated with 2016 post-season clips, don't forget the 9th innings of game 162 and NLDS Game 4! Fantastic job! My day is not complete anymore without listening to this at least a couple times. #LetsGo !! #FlyTheW
Absolutely amazing. The Hype will get even more real when we complete the sweep them damn Giants tonight. Great job Katie. IF the Cubs make it to the World Series, make another!
The synth leads in this reminds me of the intro and breakdown of Sleepless from Ben Sage for some reason. Lyrically, you couldn't have done a better job. Really hits me in the feels. 35 years of watching myself, passed down from a grandfather that went 75 years without a pennant. One more W flag and they go to the show! Go Cubs!

Die hard Cubs fan and I gotta say this song kicks ass! You're a fantastic artist and thank you for creating this for the fans who have stood by all these years waiting, just waiting for this opportunity that we have this year. I'm wishing the Cubs all the luck in the world. May we be celebrating something not seen in 108 years! Let's Go Cubbies!!! SUBBED
Yes, Cubs fans, you broke a 71 year old dry spell by making it to the World Series. There's still one more dry spell to erase. A dry spell spanning 108 years. Winning the World series. As a die hard White Sox fan, I wish you the best in winning it all!
THIS IS AMAZING! 😜😜 This made me cry. It's so incredible! It's nice to know everyone dosent hate the Cubs. We work hard every day to get there. SO LETS GO CUBS! 😍❤️👍🏼
I've been making my own little montage of films for my son. I think that out of all the videos I've seen there are 3 really good ones....out of the 3 this is the best. Congrats
Katie this by far is the best Hype video I've ever seen. It's original which is even more spectacular! Love it! Keep them coming, the cubbies are gonna do it! Go Cubs Go! P.S. This made my day, and I shed a tear of joy! #FlyTheW
Katie. Day. DAMNgirl! Awesome. BOOMeffingtastic Micdrop. Wonderfully uncommon, starkly deep lyric-hooks sunk confidently, preached from a Chicago gospel of "If you don't get this i don't give a damn"/Those who have ears, let them hear". Generations echo your epic line: "God as witness can we win this just one time before my father dies?" Thank you SO much!
To Katie: Destiny creates space for talents like you whom will forever keep the memory of the moments alive...I hope your career aspirations match the success of the Cubbies :)
i'm sad that cubs lost this year, but at least people can't we didn't try, can't say curse is real when it was not even real in the 1st place, and we still got last year to remember because that was an amazing year. GO CUBS for 2018. We will do it next year. It was a fun year while it lasted.
LOVE your song.....soo Awesome!!! The video is soo cool too but the song and the way you wrote the music just matches the mood and feeling of the HOPE and Positivity and POWER Of the mighty Chicago Cubs. Lets win this for all who have ever hungered for it and for all the generations and families and individuals that it has meant something to!! U absolutely ROCK Katie Day!!! XO, A TRUE Cubs Fan, Jeff From Chicago
