I’m not okay with well done steaks but if that’s how you want it that’s how they should prepare it. The fact that you basically had to send it back twice and it still wasn’t what you wanted for the price they are expecting you to pay it’s not okay.
Great review! It was the chef’s responsibility for cooking the steak as ordered. Unfortunately Yachtsman Steakhouse was one of our top favorites and the last two times has not been the best. I agree with you Le Cellier is so good!!
Professional chefs can cook a well done steak and it taste amazing. But I appreciate your patience and positivity. So many people are looking for reasons to complain about anything. Part of the reason I subscribed to your channel is your upbeat attitude, positivity and ability to give grace to the people you come in contact with. Keep up the great work...and it IS nice to be nice!! 👍🏻
Dev, I don't think they cooked your steak correctly. It was so charred on the outside, as if they cooked it too hot to begin with. It didn't give it a chance to cook in the middle. The cook probably was afraid to cook it longer because it would make the outside even darker. That's too bad.
Devin, it IS their fault for not cooking the steak to your liking twice! There’s no excuse for it. I feel they should have comped it for you. Weird to see a creme brûlée without a ramekin. Next time we see you, we’re going to take you to a place that serves the best steak ever, in my humble opinion. Hi to Dan and the beautiful Bianca! Enjoy your weekend.
Denise Kurt, I agree with you. For the cost involved they should make sure it doesn’t go back more than once. They should have comped it! Yes, we have a place you need to go with us to...it’s da bomb!!
Love the food at Yachtsman. Tried it when we stayed there in May. So delicious. Our favorite resort for sure. Hard to pick a favorite resort since we love so many of them. Thanks for sharing.
I just joined your channel and my husband and I are heading to Orlando in early September. Will be at old key west and doing Mickeys Halloween party and have a reservation to Le Cellier in Canada. Looking forward to seeing more of your Disney stuff. Thanks
I'm judging you. Lol. That steak was perfect! But they should have cooked it the way you liked. That is on them. And to hose it a second time, given the price you pay is in my book, bad. But I have always enjoyed this place. Yachtsmen and Le Cellier are my go to for a steak dinner. Shame on them for not given you that steak for free, or at least your desert. Remember it's the guy who prepared the steak and not the restaurants fault.
I personally think it's pretty poor that the steak wasn't cooked to how you like it, especially after you sent it back to be redone. They are a steak house, they should cook steak to how people like them cooked not how the chef feels they should be cooked. Don't apologise for the steak not being how you wanted it. You are the one who is paying for it and eating it, we all have different tastes, so you should get it the way you like to eat it.
Very cool Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yacht Club is my home resort when I’m there. Thanks for the review of this place 👍I usually hang out at Crews Club next door
Yachtsman hasn’t lived up to the hype in quite some time, we just gave them another try about two months ago... You’re right Le Cellier does make a great steak at Epcot, but check out Shula‘s at the Walt Disney World dolphin, hands-down the best steak on property.. ask for Alexis, tell him Sean and Jen sent you, he will take good care of you... Best waiter in there, and I always take very good care of him.. Get the New York strip! You will not need a sauce with it... not sure if they take AP discount, but they do take tables in Wonderland for the 20%, also valet parking is complementary if you’re eating at Shula‘s,.. Price point will be about the same as yachtsman.. Fantastic French onion soup there as well, and a great lobster bisque as well.. If you do end up checking this out please let me know, would love to know your thoughts on that after
Thanks for showing us the vibe and some food at the Yachstman. You weren't wowed by your steak. :-( We don't do much dining at that price level. Eating is repetitious, transient activity. But for that price, mmmm, we especially hope that the food is tops. For a little personal celebration, we paid about the same for the Lion King-themed steak dinner at Jiko recently. (We had the themed seafood dinner, too.) And we were wowed by the steak -- so much so, that Zena, who usually likes only a well-done steak, thought that the quite-red cut of steak was one of the best steaks that she's ever had. For that price, classy environment and service or not, the food needs to be very impressive. We can get excellent food with great presentation and service and low prices at various places. That's our take, but we're not a be-all, end-all of high food reviewing. Some of our favorite steaks ever have been from, say, Winn-Dixie, via our backyard grill. Yum!
(Kathy) I like my steak well done, could get by with maybe a trace of very light pink if needed. But that steak looked med/rare to us. Gag, nope , can't get that down when its like that. That would have got cut up, fried up and made into beef n noodles the next day or like you said, with eggs in the morning. Good video and info.
I agree with you that le cellist is the best steakhouse on property. Love their filet. I can relate with the disappointment and not being able to eat a bloody steak. My husband likes his steak well and I like mine MW.
Hey Dev! I meant to do this for a long long time, so I remembered to Subscribe to you today and so I did so just now! I liked what I saw in this vlog, oh btw, the reason I'm here is cause I see you a lot in the chat during live streams from Midlife Vibes!
I couldn't have eaten that steak either. I have an issue finding a restaurant that can even make a burger well done. I don't understand why it's so hard! And yes, it is the restaurants fault if they can't make steak to order.
I am just like you, Dev! I have to have my steak well done too! Great review of the restaurant. I want to eat there one day. Thanks for all your amazing videos! °o° **Monica
If you're paying $50 for a steak it shouldn't matter how you want it, they should cook it to your request. I can't believe you had to send it back twice! It's almost as if someone behind the scenes is telling you how you should eat it regardless of how you WANT to eat it 🤔
Thank you for the review. I would have been upset about the steak at that price. I dont eat red meat often but when I did I always got it well done. No pink for me either! Lol
If you like your steak well done, that’s your choice. It’s not my preference. However, after sending it back it should have been cooked correctly. You are much more understanding than most people would have been. For a 50$ steak, it should be cooked to your preference regardless of whether it’s rare or well done. I just tried Le cellier this pst weekend and it was very good. I actually stayed at the Yacht Club and I’m glad I chose Le Cellier over Yachtsmen. Thanks for the review.
I was really curious about what you had to say about Yachtsman, and I have to say, we agree with you completely!! We ate there once, and we will leave it at that.. LeCellier is the best steak we have had on property. We even ate at Shula’s steakhouse and I would take LeCellier any day over that. I also feel like there are two types of people.. those who prefer Yachtsman and those who prefer LeCellier, but we are definitely team LeCellier
next time try the bone marrow (food of the gods) and that french onion soup my question is was it salty cause allot of times it can get really salty lol me i love my steaks bloody (still fighting for its life lol) but yes you should have it cooked the way you want it and it should not come back to you like that especially for a high end location the dessert looks like a deconstructed creme brulee but all in all looks like a nice location
I don't think you should apologize for a steak house not being about to cook a steak to your liking. That is their job. I would have been completely disappointed because I also want a med well steak. The apps and desserts looked good. Thanks for sharing.
For that price you should have not had to send your steak back twice and it STILL comes out pink! I've never eaten there but that should be a no-brainer at any upscale steakhouse. I guessing the heat was on too high and they were trying to get it back to you quick (why the outside looks so black). Also the oily spot in the menu. Menu should be tossed. Call me picky but a family of four will set you back a few pennies. It's not the servers fault but the second time the chef should have come talked to you. My only Le'Celier visit I wasn't impressed .. Way too crowded and it seem they were herding you in and out like cattle.. way rushed... I will make Y&B Steakhouse one day! All in all good review Dev...
I’m team well done as well! I don’t eat meat that much but when I do it has to be cooked. Don’t feel bad they should have cooked it to your preference! I’m sure that dampened your experience.
I would be upset too cause I like my steaks well done too. Now I'm having 2nd thoughts about ordering their steak! It is called a STEAK HOUSE isn't it???
Hmm, that steak was no where close to well done. I could understand them making a mistake and it being slightly pink, but a steakhouse shouldn't have been that off. I normally ask for mine medium well. Then, the second time didn't look any better. You handled that very well on camera. Good for you!
Too bad they couldn't get your steak cooked right for you. I'd have loved it the way you got it, but that's not what you wanted or ordered, twice! The rest of the meal looked great.
So basically what I got out of this review was the place is NOT a great steak place to eat at! The steak looked fatty and what Dan said about his steak was fatty too! Plus saying the service was ok not great is kind of a down fall.
I'm so, so SAD. We LOVE Yachtsman soooo much more than Le Cellier. (though to be honest, I'm not always in the mood for steak, so far I've only ordered the chicken and the lobster/pasta entrees so far.... and, the s'mores dessert was amazing) My husband is a HUGE steak enthusiast, and he has had enough of Le Cellier also - big preference for Yachtsman on our Epcot visits. Looking forward to any reviews you may do of Ale & Compass.... the breakfast menu there has caught my eye! ;-)
I enjoy your videos. I'm a new sub. I'm Disappointed that your steak wasn't cooked correctly. No excuse for that. Well Done steak is easy to cook. Keep the great videos coming.
Sorry you're experience wasn't great. I've eaten there recently and my experience was deliciously amazing! For the price every experience should be as amazing..... 🏰☕🍹🍽🍮
You & Dan looked so GQ classy tonight. It appears the cruising life has influenced your culinary tastebuds! Just looking at that steak made me cringe. (But I stopped eating meat for that very reason. I don’t want to chew the pink flesh of a cow.) I’d be satisfied with the shrimp cocktail plus the French Onion soup. (You’ve eaten at the Yachtsman twice now - your FIRST & LAST time.😉🤣)
Dev, knowing how you like your steak cooked, probably Yachtsman Steakhouse wasn't a good choice. Quality Steak, dry Aged or not is never cooked well done. It ruins the quality of the Steak. That's not your fault, it's just the way it is. I personally always get my Steak Medium (Pink Inside), never Medium Rare or Rare. I'm sure the Steak Quality at other restaurants on property doesn't come close to measuring up to Yachtsman's Standards. Just my personal opinion and Glad you enjoyed it for the most part. DVC MEMBER Out!
You are 100% correct. Dry aged prime steaks are not really meant to be cooked well, I doubt the chef was used to that. And its not to say anything negative about Dev at all. Get it wrong once is one thing, but when Dev sent it back, they should have threw it back on grill. Didnt look like they did.
That’s not ok Disney has no excuse , they dropped the ball and seeing as you weren’t happy meal should have been comped! for a $50 steak That’s a rip off sorry not sorry !
Never even heard of that restaurant before. That all looked soooo delicious...especially the soup! That stinks that your steak wasn’t cooked to your liking though! At least they tried to make up for it with the coffee ☺️ 👍🏽
That chef clearly was angry you wanted it well done. Or it was a rookie chef. Either way dont apologize, especially when you paid 50 bucks for it and it was no where near close to well done.
