With my South African Visa running out, I had to leave the country and our GrizzlyNBear behind.
We decided to return to France but in a part of France closest to Africa.
Welcome to REUNION ISLAND, an amazing and underrated place that we are falling in love with.

In our Land Rover Defender camper which is our full time home we will take you rock climbing, hiking and exploring across all the continents on this planet.

I truly missed Storytelling Steph's time, leaving music directing the orchestra, with the ominous open space and slow descend to "we are exhausted for climbing,hiking and discovering new moments", always something majestic to absorb. ¡¡Pura Vida!!

C’est une île que je connais bien, j’ai habité trois ans à St Louis. J’ai fait des marches, les 3 cirques et beaucoup d’autres le GR n’existait pas. Ce sont les militaires qui ont commencé par ces marches. 👍👏🇫🇷

Wet hiking is not always fun but you get to see the forest and what views there are in a different look to them . Now tHat baguette and cheese and croissant was probably looking perfectly define about that time with some hot coffee or tea about the time you got done moping up the tent water’ 😁 . Unfortunately I think it’s too hot and humid for us most of the year. Making rock climbing difficult. That’s our excuse for a side track dream of buying a piece of land there.

Those strap on ice cleats I think they are called , would be good for that . Another RU-vidr called Itchy Boots . She rides a motorcycle, and recently she was in east Africa and one of the country’s she had to deal with the red clay mud like your in now , on a road she was was on it was so bad some trucks were stuck for over a month . Just be careful of wet feet and blisters . That combo as I sure you know will end your hike . Safe travels .

Amazing! I put it on my ‘to visit’ list! A tip I learned to avoid the flooding of the tent is to put sticks under the tent lines going outwards. It actually gets more spacious. 😎

So the tent that is 30% lighter also comes with 30% less sleep? lol The markets looked amazing. imagining the aroma's, and listening to the happy banter of shoppers. 140 K's in a week, and at such elevations and what views! They are very good. Our bags inside were pushing against it letting the rain inside. This tent has been voted the best tent by the people hiking the Appalachian trail in the US. (We are not sponsored)

Steffi couldnt be happier in this episode....maybe it because she is in a francophone country.....no Roast Beefs to ruin things....after being in South Africa you must realize just how your freedoms are constantly restricted from having to be vigilant the whole time. (Great Scenery (SA) shame about the people.(destined for more upheaval no doubt) Reunion is preferable to Mauritius....although I did come across Sir Seewasagaur Rangoolam (RIP) with his fascinating name....on par with the DODO fame
