Be prepared for a lot more people moving around to find safer places due to global heating. We can't just let people starve at our borders and say we care for humanity.
@@timmoore3188 and if we stop letting Monsanto engineering crops, that's another geo-engineering mistake, their recommendation on fertilizers F'ing ruined field all over, not sure WTF they did but it destroyed fertility in black soil land. Stop jacking with the shit God created and we have went fugging nuts with impervious cover creating runoff flash flooding, to much F'ing concrete, the big cities are hotter due to the amounts of pavement and concrete that retain heat and cause water to rapidly run off.
Yet we let them in enmasse, which includes all the bad folks. We also have our own homeless problem with Americans starving in our borders. We can't even provide proper support to people that went and fought for America.
No one wants to really talk about the elephant in the room......we distabilized South and Central America and now we are mad they are fleeing to safety here. You can't have it both ways America.
First of all, it's 'dEstabilized,' and second, the US destabilized Central/South America (Nicaragua, El Salvador and Colombia) in the 1980s. Colombia is doing well lately. Venezuela is in shambles due to no fault of anyone but their own government. Very few of these immigrants are vetted assylum seekers. This whole mass immigration issue has been exacerbates by the Democrats to increase census numbers in Blue states and increase Electoral College members.
Yeah, it’s just so stupid to accept the Republican framing of the “immigration crisis” when our economy is actually completely dependent upon migrant workers. Both documented and undocumented workers. We just need to fix the system to do there’s no backlog of people who want to get in. And so people don’t have to sneak in. The border states do have unique problems because of it. We just need functional infrastructure in our immigration system to help spread incoming people to areas that need people whenever possible. And a system that helps support new migrants integrating into their new country while maintaining what they want of their home traditions and culture. One of the worst economic misunderstandings out there right now is that immigration hurts our economy or job market. It actually helps us a great deal, and still would help quite a bit even if we don’t allow them to be taken advantage of by their bosses. Though, we should absolutely stop making the home countries of immigrants such terrible, unlivable places. It’s always because of the US’s actions at one point or another. So, I support us sending aid to help people be able to live safe, happy lives in their own home country. We need to stop falling for Rightwing lies about immigration and economics. Stop using their framing of the situation. That “bipartisan” border bill is such a mistake. It’s so far Right, and continues to break International Law on Asylum Seekers, which I am so tired of the from both parties. We gotta demand better from the Democrats!
We are not a democracy we are a republic. "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.
I have a lot of pride in the youth of the US and while they aren't necessarily the only demographic, it is reassuring to see how active the youth have been in these dark times.
Wish everyone would get to the point faster so we can learn more about the “root causes”. Sanctions, climate change, drug lords and gangs. I’ve heard it all but barely and no specifics.
I disagree. More poor people hurt poor people. Workers are a commodity , the more workers the less they are worth. As far as affordable housing or lack thereof the more poor people competing for housing the higher the cost of housing. I realize that's simplistic and there are other factors but it is definitely part of the equation.
Why is it always a left or right issue and not an AMERICAN issue? We have our own problems, growing problems. How can we take care of other people when we can't even take care of ourselves. What's best for the American people? We elect them to take care of us, not the world.
This guy strikes me as foolish when he claims the democrats border politics have been pushed far to the right “by Donald Trump.” Donald Trump is not forcing Kamala to build the border wall buddy, that’s all her
Linda Thomas Greenfield: “A ceasefire in Gaza is now in sight.” Benjamin Netanyahu: Yes, if you use a strong pair of binoculars, you can see it appear on a distant horizon.
Rules, rules, too many rules! This is the 21st century! Humanity's Consciousness has matured now! We no longer need these socialist controlling manipulating rules in our lives! Less government more freedom! We have learned and are now beyond children in consciousness! Wake up Humanity to the light of your maturity! The five Universal rules for Humanity in this 21st century are simply this: love, honor, kindness, compassion, and wisdom. Love everything. Honor everything. Be kind to everything. Have compassion for everything. Grow in wisdom from everything. Namaste
This is terrible analysis. The bill is weak and permissive and expands the ability for migrants with weak asylum claims to enter the country. Most people who care about stopping illegal immigration hate this bill. How does this guest not understand this issue?
No. The guess is absolutely correct in his characterization of the bill. You on the other hand have demonstrated that you didn’t read or understood to the language in the bill. Then you try to use an appeal to popularity without mentioning any sources or names to boot your claim. When you say the guest doesn’t understand the bill, you are demonstrating projection
@Power_to_the_people567 Have you read the Citizen for Immigration Studies' analysis of the bill? That analysis is thorough and written by immigration law specialists. (Note -- you didn't cite sources either, which is odd if you are going to say an opinion is only valuable if one cites sources). Also, the week the border bill was publicized, numerous conservative personalities came out criticizing the bill, long before Trump said anything (including Ben Shapiro and Ann Coulter).
If we hadn't overthrown the Latin American leaders, we wouldn't have this problem. Given the damage we caused, all citizens should be welcomed here, given jobs and homes just as we should be making reparations to the native Americans and former black slaves. We have so much to atone for
We unfortunately live in a society that worships money. So our morals and convictions are not that strong. But in a right and just society, we would try to atone for all the harm we've caused.
I support an earned pathway to citizenship. Our neighbor recently had a huge dead oak tree in her yard. I couldn't sleep for days because it felt like there was a nuclear bomb over my head. Apparently, she found someone that was affordable because one morning I saw a crew of Latino men working on removing the tree. There was a man way up in the air and I waved and smiled in his direction. I don't think either one of us was bilingual, but I think my smile said that I was happy he was there, and his smile told me he was happy to be working. I hope his boss was giving him a fair wage because the name of the company was Latino.
have the french yet caught the people who fouled all the rail singnals in northern france yet. if not do they have any reasonable suspects yet. if not why not it happen either the day before or the day of the olympics opening ceramonies.
Progressives should be focused on helping US citizens, US labor, the US environment, etc. And progressives (of which, I'm one), therefore, should be opposed to illegals entering our country and taking from and harming our citizens (competition for jobs/college/housing/etc). Dennis Kucinich is progressive for sure, and he has said the same. So keep them out.
@@jttj742 Sounds like you're protecting your own, or else truly clueless. Those "imaginary lines" create real things called nations. Nations have economies that cannot accommodate open borders. And nations also have citizens that are harmed amidst massive influxes of illegal foreigners. So yeah, because of "imaginary lines on a map."
You know what I don’t get about right winger anti-immigration people… they really ‘ought to wonder *why* people immigrate first. If you don’t want them to, help facilitate good strong societies for the people so they stop fleeing, foster mutual cooperation, not imperialism. Then of course you have the isolationists, who are correct to the extent America shan’t meddle in the affairs of others, but it shouldn’t sit idly by when it can proffer aid to nations that need it, be a friend to everyone and and enemy to none. But alas, such is politics.
We should create a VOLUNTARY resettlement board, to help new immigrants find a good match for them rather than continuing to allow new Americans to flood border and coastal zones. We need to get people moving into the Interior, and into rural areas. Farmers cant do anything in a city!
There are two major reasons of migration. One is economic another is wars and both reasons are caused by bad governance by bad politicians whose priorities are selfish interests not public Interests. Migration conditions are forced upon phenomenon on public through bad economics and wars . People are not to be blamed , world governing system has to blame and migration problem should be handled as human crisis not as crimnal issue ! ?
Criminalized, well phrased. I think that extreme weather changes is one of the most deadly threats to humanity, to life as we know it. I respect Dr.Jill Stein for her political stance & courage, but it seems to me that the way the US electoral college is designed, that it only supports the Duopoly- Red or Blue.
The UK is advertising in their African commonwealth for people to join their military. I was in Sikeston. Missouri and saw three large buses from Texas . There must have been 40 Hispanic appearing men, just men, standing outside the buses. I have to wonder if with all the conflicts happening, that the immigrants are how they planned to build up our military.
Look at history, Republicant administrations are horrible economically. Last President to leave office with largest surplus in history, full employment and no war was Clinton
I see that Biden and now Kamala have both learned how to speak from Bernie. But I don't see the necessary policies. We did see corporate presence at the convention, not in people, but in money. The money was there, in the big glitzy party and even in the refusal to allow a Palestinian voice on the stage.
we need to fill the Senate and House with 60% majority Democrats 60% not 50. We need 60 to get things done. Why why why are we not asking for the seats? We need to ask on two levels we need to say who we want to be part of Kamala Harris‘s team in the House in the Senate and we need to call out the bad actors and say we need to vote these bad actors out because they will only harm Kamala Harris team
That's what we were told during Obama's supermajority. He only got half baked health care passed. We were told we would have to wait on robust climate legislation.
Why the hell would we. The solution is to streamline immigration so that it takes weeks to become a citizen instead of years and decades. That way we can have millions of legal immigrants becoming citizens instead of millions of illegal immigrants. The politicians on both sides of the aisle are the reason that the immigration system remains broken. No battalion of troops needed. In fact, it is illegal due to the Posse Comitatus Act if you are talking about federal soldiers rather than the NG.
There are international labor brokers that get vetted and trained workers from overseas for domestic companies and projects. Read how Dubai got workers for their mega projects. It is orderly and controlled. If Tyson Foods needed 42 000 meat processing workers, you do not encourage the entire world to send 10 plus millions if people to the US border and teach them to claim political asylum to gain entrance. Worst, once the US takes custody of the 10 plus million asylum seekers, the US taxpayer is responsible for housing, feeding, and caring for them until their case is heard in court. Right now, the courts are backlog 5 years and the appeals are backlog 2 years. That means the US are obligated to care for 10 plus million asylum seekers for up to 7 years. If the asylum seeker calculates he will lose on appeal, he simply skips the appeal court case and hides in a sanctuary city or state. This is another progressive invention that adds to the lawbreaking and chaos. What this rep needs to do is own up to his party's hairbrain scheme that has backfired and created a chaos and burden on the US.
Agree that the courts are backlogged to the enth degree. Maybe those tax Dodge cargo ships carrying thousands of naked, abused, excrement smeared women - human trafficking in capital letters, is a bigger problem than we realized. Were those traumatized women slated to work in meat processing facilities stateside ?! Shady dealings.
