Grats on the monster elk. You did right too, he was at max size. You have an "eagle eye". The fact that you take the long shots, just to make it more challenging is "Above and Beyond". This past weekend it rained all 3 days here so I ended up putting in over 30 hours of game play. Wife questioned it, but worth it 😆. Learned, achieved, and made A LOT (in game $$), uncovered a lot of map.. I definitely figured out the .300 or .338 are almost a must for bear & moose. Also learned, the calls are a big help and will bring them in close. Your also 100% correct when shooting at long distances. Sometimes the animals never spook or sometimes run closer to you. Has anyone else had an animal run through a lake yet? That surely needs fixed. Anyhow congrats again and Rock on DD.

The .308 is fine on Bear and Elk (not tried on Moose yet) up to a couple of hundred meters, but the 300 is definitely the best weapon for level 6 animals. I only ever use the .338 on level 6's over 300m.. That thing wastes meat for fun at shorter distances than that. Had a couple of animals run into/through deep lakes. That does indeed need fixing. Bug reports have been filed!

@@StuTheMoose Agree. I carry the .308 and .300.....really depends what I am going after. Just find it better for .300 on bear and less tracking if shot isn't perfect.

@@robertflint4115 im on ps5 and after getting the perk fast and loud it was awful, spooking animals at 328 yards while crawling with good wind. had to drop skill level down to explorer and it seems animals spook less but there are less animals. So idk and im 40 yo with plenty of irl hunts and video game hunts. Plus calls only work out to 200 yards

Change difficulty from adventurer to hunter, from what ive read on discord the difficulty's are bugged, its made a difference for me, animals are no longer spooking at unreal distances
