My mum has never watched basketball, she was surprised that I knew all the US players, she hadn't really heard of any of these players before, we're in France on holiday and watched this game with French commentary. At the end of the game she just said "Curry is just something else"

People said that Steph was not delivering as much as Lebron and Kd when I was saying the old heads were playing out of their minds. Now they are silent. Glad to see the people I grew up watching dominate the NBA carrying this Olympic team with so much talent
When Steph said that he isn't worried about his shooting slump, we all knew where it's going. Remember Kobe said about the dangers of Curry's "calmness"
Seeing him have those shooting slumps on their earlier games I was not worried. I have seen him for so many times torch the team I was rooting for in the NBA, to lose faith in him. I just don't understand people for making fun of him during those games for not performing well. I guess they have sitll not learned why the world calls him the greatest 3 point marksman there is in basketball 🙌🤣
Booker definitely really impressed me. Watching Steph is just euphoric and I now have a new found respect for Lebron James. This was a spiritual experience.
Thank you for pointing out DBook. he was really superb this olympics. the difference between him and JT was DBook adjusted his game to compliment what's needed for the team and embraced it. He didnt force his shots. He played great D and hassled out on the floor.
FINALLY someone who gives Dbook the credit he deserves. Imagine Luka being a role player for a team, that's what DBook did for Team USA. A guy who has a career high of 70pts in the NBA accepting being a role player while playing defense with his heart out.
As a french I must admit that even if a little bit unhappy about the result I am still very happy about the fact that Stephen Curry the greatest shooter that ever lived has a gold medal which he deserves 100%. I am still very proud of French basketball capable of watching USA in the eye, both those games were a blast. We witnessed a great performance and can't wait to be in L.A for maybe the revenge. Cheers from France with love USA we are looking forward to 2028.

Anthony Davis was on a roll in that final game. EVERY play he made, all I could say was “Anthony Davis is gonna win us gold.” That was… until Curry showed up 🥇
As a Warrior fan… I’m so happy to see Steph getting his flowers Doing what he did on the world stage, having not only the whole country behind him… but allowing people all around the world to witness his greatness… I couldn’t have written a better story for how this all played out

It was indeed scripted. A designed play created by their coach. The coach instructed the players to find Curry and assigned others to scatter and set screens for him.
It was nice to see thst everyone played as expected. My unsung hero was Book. Was one of those that put him in the aforementioned category of ballstopper and shotchucker but was proven wrong. Bro played his tail off, picking up his assignment fullcourt 80% of the time he was on the court..

Kudos for these points you made among them: 1) As truly extraordinary as the final 3 minutes against France was by Curry, he just as truly got the USA there by carrying the Americans through the first half against Serbia; no Curry, then there's too big a deficit to come back from. 2) Booker was indeed the "secret sauce"; you set that up very well with the Kuzma-Booker exchange; and 3) Thanks for pointing out that Anthony Davis in the Olympic Final was magnificent; just as Wade said (near the end of that game) AD was the MVP on the defensive end of the floor (plus his offensive rebounds/putbacks). In fact, I've never seen ANY really tall player guard elite players SO WELL beyond the arc as AD did that final game. Thanks again; you get the gold!
Great stuff as usual man. ANT was right, it took Curry a while to show up but when he finally did, what a show. I was honestly getting nervous at the end, France has some great players. There are a few teams that should give Yabusele a call, one of them being the Spurs.
Overall W for international basketball. The world is catching up, and that makes the victory more important. This was a historic ending to the Lebron and Curry era. I look forward to see what the future of basketball holds, and it's given me more interest in basketball than I've had in a while.
Tatum is top 10 in the league right now. He's also one of my favorite players to watch. What I've noticed is that Tatum is really good at alot of things on the court but he's not elite at anything in particular comparing to the rest of team USA. It's hard to carve out a role for him when the team need certain aspects for him to fill in. Especially when you take out someone who fits that role much more seamlessly. There is no knack on Tatum, he's still one of the best in the game today, but amongst the elites, he doesn't provide much to separate himself from anyone else out there.
Well, I agree with some of that, but I think it's more of a game-plan fit issue, as far as the number of players filling that same role. So, since we already had KD and Holiday scoring and locking down opponents in that swing role, there just wasn't a lot of minutes left for Tatum or Haliburton. What we really needed was a true point guard, to bring the ball up with control, because we gave the ball away far too much down the stretch.
@mvpfocus Yes, we definitely lacked a floor general. But that type of style of player died in the NBA. There are some great passers in the league, but very few great floor generals now. As far as Tatum, even with the gameplan it's hard to put him in a role where his skillset doesn't really fit. Obviously, among most other teams, he'd be starting but even the game without KD, he didn't play.
@mvpfocus yea but listen to that, we're talking about a top 10 player in today's NBA getting DNPs/ 11 minutes of a full 40 minute game. Not because of foul trouble and not because of injury. Tell me if I'm wrong, what does Tatum's impact look like on this team compared to anyone else? What does he do to standout amongst the rest of the guys?
Team USA 2024 played every game EXCELLENT TEAM BASKETBALL. Props to all the superstar players leaving their egos home and just packed in their luggage their selfless selves and simply gave us a masterclass a blueprint on how to play in different situations and teams which is something to remember for decades to come.
Basketball fans should be thankful to Noah Lyles, if he didnt call out the NBA players this will never happened. And the USA might lose in Olympics once again.

Someone should talk about the free-throw shooting. Watching the man who does not need naming wiggle his way into buttery free points was awe-inspiring. I love watching men wiggle. For real though, the usa team looked like true professionals at the free-throw line.
I wish I got into basketball when I was younger. That was a legendary performance and I wish I could have gotten to watch Steph Curry, Lebron James, Kevin durant, and many more play in their primes.
At least a couple of those 3-pointers were made by Steph behind illegal, brutally strong-armed screens provided by Embiid, but that's beside the point. 😂
I dont think people realise just how insane the 2 game performance was by steph. Those 2 games shot steph up to 1st place tie all time for me with lebron. Seeing lebron's playmaking during all those games was also insane. He just has insane iq.
The fact that usa biggest stars had to go all out twice on this olympics tells the real tale. Despite basketball popularity in the usa and the sheer size of the usa they were pushed to the brink. Im thinking euro countries will be thinking to themselves usa has become very much beatable. Favourites and always contenders but beatable from here on out.
