Hi Don & Pegi, love you guys, your travel blog and the joy! Grew up in a house in NYC and it was warm-hot from June-August. Myself, my siblings and all the kids on our block stayed outside until the lamp post light came on and then we played in front of our house, played in the sprinklers, etc. Now some of us have moved to the south where this is a different kind of heat (although it is hotter in NY and NJ than some parts of the south right now). Thank God that most homes have air conditioning. It’s not healthy or safe for kids or adults to be outdoors in this heat wave. Key word is hydration and electrolytes!

Yesss, we were superhuman and it was super fun. I was raised in Indiana but spent every break in Kentucky with my grandmother. We had the neighborhood candy store that this older couple ran out of their garage (Mr. and Mrs. Howard) and Mrs. Copeland sold the Kool-Aid cups. Those were the good ol' days. Tfs

Between global warming and the availability of a/c, I be!I've we have gotten soft, lol! My mom had a house built in 1972 without central air and we were just fine. We opened All the windows and stuck a box fan in one facing OUT to help if there was no cross breeze. That was for late evening, because we were generally outside from sun up to sundown! It was so hot at the Glampout, the power went out twice and the river's with multiple A/D's were asked to use just one, lol!

Yes Badboys ride or die was really really good. It was soo crowded and I mean not even a empty seat and I don't like being all crowed up right on top of people so I might go back and see it again when its not so crowded. I only get the pretzle nuggets with cheese or the cinnamon pretzle nuggets with cream cheese dip❤. I absolutely adore watching lil Dj playing in the dog park did the other dogs come in the park to play with Dj?

We have a Rockwood TT thats 35ft. It has a 15 and a 13 btu ac's. We just returned from a 5 day trip with the temps are 98 each day. Ours did ok but they ran the whole time. At night I kept the bedroom cold because I sleep hot. Our slides have toppers that I believe shades the top of the slides from the sun. You might want to check on them.

Oh my goodness! If you listen to some folks we should have all been gone drinking from the waterhose. We were building immunity. LOL I wouldn't dare do it now though. Also, I'm still best friends with the gal I grew up with. We've been friends 50+ years. We grew up on the same street. Her mom was the neighborhood mom during the summer. She was the only stay at home mom. At 1pm every day in the summer she passed out popsicles from those tupperware popsicle things. It was either apple juice or ice tea!!! Sweet tea popsicles were the bombdiggity!!! Here's the thing. Sometimes her mom would run short. And if she didn't have enough for every child that showed up, NOBODY got one. So, on those days my friend would say...ssshhh don't remind everybody about popsicles. She doesn't think she has enough. So we would sneak away from the other kids and run get our popsicle and HIDE! LOL The heat now is different! Can anyone deny that?? I was an August baby. I LOVED the heat. Until I got heat exhaustion several years ago when our hit index got up to 123. Not normal. I can't take it anymore. Makes me sad. Anyway, with the air blowing full blast Tuesday of this week...our heat index was 110 with a 97 temp. It was 79 degrees in our house. There was nothing we could do. IT'S JUNE! God help us!! I'm in West TN by the way. South of y'all right now. Aww....Look at DJ living his best life! I bet he enjoys having your grandson as a playmate. Stay blessed!!

Yes, Don! I grew up in Virginia in the 70s and 80s but the atmosphere was so different. We didn’t have AC until the 80s. My mom kept us cool with a big industrial fan that worked both ways. Shade was our best friend. Sometimes I wish we could go back to those days. It was so simple and fun back then. I loved bad boys as well. I can’t wait to see what’s coming next with this franchise. You, Pegi and DJ try to stay cool. Have fun with the grandkids.

We would take our mom’s clear plastic off the table and soap it down, turn on that hose and have a good old time. We could not wait for her to say it was time for a replacement. We would take it off and the fun began 🎉

When I was a kid...I was born in 1966...we would get one of the "dad's" to turn on the water hydrant on the corner! We had a BLAST!!! We also had a snow cone truck that would come around, and they were a whopping 10 cents!!! Big one's, too!!! We also had a little corner store, and could go get a soda and some penny candy! Those were the days!!! We LIVED outside during the summer...in Texas! Temps were often over 100 degrees! We'd have baseball games under the street lights in the evenings. So much fun!!! EVERYONE came! Not like today, where neighbors barely know each other! We would often go to the lake for a campout with ALL the neighbors! It was hot, but we didn't care! We also drank water from a hose! Good memories! 😁
