@@JacobRestituto I mentioned this in another comment.... The Alex Lacamoire episodes of the podcast "The Hamilcast." He gets INTO IT. With lots of files on his laptop of early versions of songs and isolated tracks and the like. A lot of why decisions and choices were made. HIGHLY recommend for a guy like you.

Lin-Manuel wrote and Alex Lacamoire orchestrated but the cast album is produced the Black Thought and The Roots...they are the ones added all of the embellishments such as the panning and synth effects which are not things that you will get during the live performance. The cast album has a lot more ear candy while the stage performance has all the eye candy (staging, choreography, etc.)

David Nunya , I listened to this recording for about 12 months before being lucky enough to see it live in London. I was worried it would be just like listening to the recording while being sat a room with lots of other people. But it was amazing, all those super clever bits in the recording might not have been played live but they were still in my head, plus the spectacle of the choreography and the acting made it unforgettable.

After hearing deleted songs and the mixtapes (with barebones orchsestration), I started to really appreciate just how good Alex Lacamoire is as an arranger and orchestrator. This guy is awesome.

Here Jefferson, Madison & Burr confronted Hamilton. Once the explanation was out, Jefferson & Madison walked away because they had issues they didn’t want revealed either. But Burr.... well... the score builds audience suspense... and it’s developing into a Hurricane! (See what I did there)😉

Alex Lacamoire refined the music as the orchestra director but it was written by Lin Manuel Miranda. For example the tune to "the story of tonight" was actually written by Lin when he was 17 to different lyrics. He wrote the lyrics for King George's songs without a piano (he was on his honeymoon) and being the musical genius that he is already knew the tune he wanted and wrote it after.

Alex Lacamoire won the Tony for best Orchestration. Don’t know how different, if at all, the orchestration for the cast recording is compared to the stage production.

The big difference I know of is that Alex Lacamoire said that they used a live harp on the album rather than a keyboard playing a sample that’s used in the live show. Also, The Roots producing the album suggested the addition of some of the vocal effects (the overdrive when Lin says “enter me” in My Shot, for example) and panning, etc

He worked close with alex lacamore who also is the orchestrator and musical director and has been working with lin since in the heights, lin's first Broadway show. They also work super close with the director and choreographer that also did in the heights.

Lin wrote the lyrics and the music and then Alex lacamoire (who directed the orchestra as well) came up with most of the orchestrations.

I don't think so. Music credit is to Lin-Manuel Miranda. Alex Lacamoire and Lin co-arranged the music and Alex Lacamoire did the orchestrations. Alex won a Tony for the orcheestrations.

Lin was stuck on a song for Burr .. His tendency to wait for it ,,, Lin was riding the train to birthday party and the rhythm of wait for it came to him ,, spent few minutes at party rode home on train and wrote song

And here comes the tipping point that pushes Hamilton into blowing the whole thing wide open to the public. While Jefferson and Madison directly say they won't say anything about this, Burr is sly about it and pretty much hints that if it'll help him, he'll spill everything. Hamilton then decides he has to get ahead of it and tell everyone before Burr can use it to destroy him. Not that it really worked out that way, unfortunately, but I suppose it might have been even worse if he tried to keep it under wraps. Then Burr would have been totally free to spin an ugly tale.
