I'm no longer a Christian in the sense of what Christianity means the Western world. I have discovered a spiritual path that I follow which includes African traditions. For whatever reason, I have lately been getting these old hyms and church songs that I loved so much as a young Christian woman in my mind and I am thankful to find them here. This song came to me this morning so I looked for it. I heard a couple of renditions but could not find a version of how I remember it sung, until I clicked on this young man. He sings so beautifully and with so much soul and feeling. Thank you for this. Sometimes you need to reflect back and you have helped me do that bringing joy to my heart. I will definitely check out more of your music.

Father I pray you deliver this young man from the opinions of man and give him the grace to run the race that has been set before him. To the folks out there with a spirit of condemnation I say this as Jesus said, HE HERE WITHOUT SIN, CAST THE FIRST STONE 👀. I’ve learned that when folks look for fault in others. Rarely when they’re in the mirror dressing up their flesh do they start their with their own faults. Look in the mirror and if you see perfection then cast a stone. Young man, the word is there cause a tree is known by its fruits. The anointing is there cause I’ve tried the spirit by the spirit to see if it be of God. As long as we are in the flesh we will all forever struggle with sin. Ask your Heavenly Father as I have through his son Jesus to help you to become the man as he has called you to be. You are a man created by God as we all are. To the woman or women that want to condemn this young man I say this. God did not give you authority over the man so be silent as the apostle Paul said. SELAH! 1 Timothy 2:12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression. Pray for yourself that you do not fall into temptation and after you’ve brought your flesh under the subjection of the word remain silent and keep praying the same for others that they overcome as you have assuming that you already have overcome your flesh...fornication, adultery, lying, backbiting, envy, and every other abomination. I’m praying for the woman that cast the stone that she be delivered and her heart be transformed by the renewing of her mind... watch this, MINES FIRST 🙂. Follow after the example that Christ has left us to follow. Continue ministering under the anointing and bless others cause I have truly been blessed in song by you. But remember this too youngster, and I’m sure you already know. Let not your good be evil spoken of. We are in this struggle together so let’s encourage one another and run on and see what the end is going to be lol. Is that a song lol. If so can you minister that one of your lead to. Thank you for singing this song. I remember my childhood church singing this song often and during and after my miscarriage 2 years especially when I'd found out that my baby stopped growing when i got home cried went to bed and and woke up the next morning the first thing God put on my heart as i was crying and praying at the same time was this song. I still sing it on days that are hard for me when i think about the baby i feel should be here even now i somewhat understand why now. But sometimes it doesn't make me feel any better

After my mother suspiciously and mysteriously transitioned from her body at Brigham & Women Hospital in Boston on April 13, 2015, we sung this song at the Dorchester, MA and Beech Island, SC services. It was one of her favorite songs especially at funerals and we also sang it in 2012 at both of my father's services in Boston and Augusta, GA, God Bless !
