That’s why I truly believe racism is taught.

That's very true! It's the same with my daughter and her best friend. They became friends in kindergarten and are still friends now in 1st grade. They were both held back because of a learning disability which i think bonds them even more. They feel very comfortable around each other and don't have to feel self conscious when speaking. Whenever we've had a play date her mother would make shirts for them to wear lol. This time i bought shirts with a broken heart that has best on one and friend on the other. They became friends because my daughter took up for her when she was being bullied. They don't even go to the same school anymore which was hard for them both. Quarantine has been hard but we've managed to keep it fun with zoom cookie contest, sending recorded video of them reading bedtime stories lol, knock and run leaving gift bags for Halloween, christmas, and birthdays lol, and zoom sleepovers. My husband and I have become friends with her whole family. As mother's we've even text when having a hard day with homework with them LOL! It's VERY helpful for us both. We do our best to keep them close.

@Deathstroke56 56 Why is it embarrassing to you? Twins are unique. Where I grew up in a neighborhood that and within two blocks, we had 5 sets of identical twins and three sets fraternal twins. Some people actually thought it was something in the environment. Also, there were 4 more sets of faturnal twins spread sparsely around a few blocks near us.

What BS. All that separates "old racists" and those peddling the racist and divisive "critical race theory" is the former thinks "people of color" are held back due to inherent and "inferior" differences while the latter thinks "people of color" are being held back by those "privileged" because they're white. Therefore they both think "people of color" are less than white people. One group likes it that way assumingly due to a superiority complex and the other group has some sort of savior complex where they think they know what the people(who as "people of color" black, etc.are ALL the same with the same problems and abuses against them apparently) they are trying to help(save) need and of course the saviors appoint themselves to get them that.Hope these two kids don't get brainwashed by the "woke agenda" so prevalent in schools and general society into being defined and seeing each other primarily as a black boy and a white boy instead of as two friends.

Your kids sound smart. They know their colors. The thing is, they're not "black." No human being is. Human beings do not come in that color. Internalized anti-African racism keeps so-called "Black" people from shaking off that inaccurate color label, that colonizer insult, in favor of acknowledging their ancestors.

No human being is "white" either. There's little reason to constantly label and identify others or yourself by skin color and make it the most important distinction in every interaction with others. But too many people are making money and gaining influence by dividing us up. It's easy to convince some people that they don't have the lives they want because "someone else" or even the entire society is actively,deliberately preventing it. And it's also been easy to convince some people that they're "guilty" of contributing to oppression due only to being born with a certain skin color.

Are your ancestors from the Caucasus? Then your daughter is not "Caucasian." Was her friend actually "black," or was she brown-skinned? You probably think your daughter is not racist. You probably pat yourself on the back and think, by extension, you're not racist. So why do you use racist terms? Why do you call your daughter "Caucasian"? (Search RU-vid for Nell Irvin Painter's lecture on why Europeans call themselves "Caucasian" for an explanation of its racist implications.) Also, if you're not racist, why did you racialize this story when your daughter seems to have obviously been referring to personality, interests, or hobbies, etc. not ethnic ancestry?

Regardless of all the well-wishing and cute story, the reality for the so-called black child will be indisputably filled with obstacles that the so-called white child will never have to endure. They're systemically on different paths where one is oppressed and one benefits from that oppression. Challenge this TRUTH if you may nevertheless, it doesn't change this TRUTH. It's a matter of a fact really. Therefore if the system doesn't change, this is just feel-good propaganda, tokenism and fabrication. Not from the children of course, but the adults.
