WE M1911 Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol Review (4K 60fps)

There are quite a few versions of 1911 on patrol base, but if you're talking about the WE 1911 that is black with the brown grip, then yes, it will be identical to this other than obviously, the colour. Compared to other pistols around this price point, well actually this is an interesting point because in my opinion, all pistols around this price point are pretty similar. This specific pistol has quite a long barrel so it may be more accurate that others at the price, and it shoots very fast (350 FPS) but then again it does have a lot of kick so this could hinder accuracy. It handles 0.25g BBS very well - that is what I run through it, paired with ASG ULTRAIR Green gas. As I mentioned in the review of this pistol, in my opinion, isn't for those looking for the most tactical best pistol, but for those looking for the most fun and realistic. It's great for shooting in the garden, you'll make the neighbours jealous! It isn't too loud so shouldn't disturb them. Additionally, I would hope you are going to be using biodegradable BBs if you are shooting in your garden, or shoot them on some sort of area where you are able to pick them up. No problem. Yes, that is the same gun, looks great without the blue grips I must say. When it comes to pellets the heavier you go, the slower but more accurate they will fly. 0.25g BBS is the go-to weight for most players, and this gun handles them very very well indeed. The best way to buy pellets is in bulk, and patrol base makes this very easy to do, should be clear on the product page about the bulk details. For example, some may deduct a pound for each bottle of BBs you buy. Biodegradable BBs will cost slightly more but as you can imagine, much better for the environment and you won't have to clear them up. My parents only let me use Bio pellets at home. Buy 3+ £11.49 per unit Buy 6+ £10.99 per unit Buy 12+ £9.49 per unit As far as maintenance goes, it depends how often you use it, the conditions you use it and the quality of gas-fired in the gun. In short, if you buy decent gas like the one I mentioned in the previous comment, that has lubricant built into it, which helps keep the gun running well. However, the internal parts will benefit from cleaning and lubrication with Silicone Lube. I have owned my pistol for 2-3 years now and only lubed it once and it still runs well, whereas other enthusiasts might clean it after every other use, its personal preference as to how much you do this. It will even come lubed and that'll last for a while.If you're playing at an airsoft field it's going to get dirty so I think if you're just using it in your garden it won't need much maintenance at all. Having said that, maintenance can be really fun, its really easy to take apart and work on, so if you enjoy it then no harm done! CO2 will not be for this gun. I recommend green gas as it's the best for the conditions in the UK, but when it's really cold there are other options like black or red gas that operate better in cold conditions, green gas will operate, but you may get some misfires or excess gas being released on a shot. My last point will be when you're not using the mags, a great way to keep the seals tight and avoid unnecessary maintenance and replacements, is to keep gas in the mags when you're not using them, this will keep the seals tight and lubricated. Hope you don't mind as it is useful to get the opinion of someone more experienced with this sort of thing. Do you know if your pre-two toned pistol will have a better finish on it than the one I'm looking at? As with the other one patrolbase would be spraypainting the slide themselves before shipping it. Do you think I'd be better off getting your version then putting some wood grips on it to replicate the 1943 version? If so, do you know anywhere that makes wooden grips for it? Also, the spare magazines for we 1911s seem pretty expensive on patrolbase, unless that's how much magazines usually cost in airsoft. Did you get your mags from patrolbase or somewhere else? Cheers

Don't worry I'm more than happy to help and share my experiences! The two tone on my pistol is "Factory Pre Two tone" Therefore it was painted with this colour (Blue) in mind, therefore the primer and final coat are both blue, making it basically impossible to get the blue off, the only way would be to literally scratch if off or paint over it. Whereas patrol base don't do something as in-depth as this. They just put one coat of paint which will where away over time and be quite easy to remove with white spirit. So to answer the first question, yes the finish will be better on my pistol. Patrol base sell the grips you'd need. I've looked into doing this before, I believe they also sell a black slide, so if you want to make it back to stock you could buy both brown grips and a black slide. I will leave links of what I can find. As far as the spare mags go, I did purchase mine on patrol base and yes they were kind of expensive. Mags usually range between £15-25. I use this mags: www.patrolbase.co.uk/we-europe-m1911-a-15rnd-gas-magazine?pv=6929 They are the official ones by WE, and will be the same as the one that the gun comes with. I have 2 extra mags, so when combined with the one it comes with, I have 3 mags total. This is a point a touched on in the video, for garden use this isn't an issue though, but out on the field, these 3 mags only give me a total of 45 pullets, and one in the chamber, so 46. Whereas pistols like the M9 Beretta can have up to 25 rounds in a mag, making it more tactical on the field and more efficient. But in order to make this gun a 1 of 1 copy, which it is, this is the amount of rounds the the real 1911 can house, so like I said before, they focused on realism not just making it overpowered. This will be your cheapest place to get the mags. For garden use, you may only want one extra mag. You will also need one of these to load the mags easily. Very cheap but such a life safer. My friend has owned a Hi Capa from RAVEN and it was not very good quality. I'd save up the extra bit of money if I was you.

A pistol is not necessary for a beginner. But if you do want to buy one, it’s more of a novelty because they’re fun and more realistic, I would say this is the cheapest pistol I’d buy, if you go cheaper it’ll just be rubbish

@@JamesTake2 is the front hand guard metal and if so what other metal features are there and have you had any problems with the gun

The entire gun is plastic, the only metal bits would be in the internals, and the extra mags I bought were metal. I’ve not had any problems with the gun at all it’s been great, the stock is adjustable, it fires accurately and fast, is nice and light weight. The only thing was the original sling which came with the gun did break, but it wasn’t a great sling anyway and if a sling is something important to you I’d recommend buying a proper one.

The build quality is great, I’ve dropped the gun before and you can’t tell. I like that it is all plastic as it makes it lighter, which after a long game so appreciated especially for younger players. A metal gun would be more realistic but it would be a lot more expensive.

I dry fire mine quite a lot as I am not allowed to shoot BBs in my garden, it handles it fine!

Also sometimes when I do go to fire it bb’s sadly drop out of the gun have I put too much gas in or something or is it to do with the fact that it says made in taiwan

That sucks! Not too sure why this is happening I don't know too much about Airsoft mechanics. I'd suggest talking to Patrol base as it will still be under warranty.

@@JamesTake2 I rang them and they said I needed to apply the lube to the gun when I first had it and I’m taking it back to the factory to be looked at and I’ve now lost some warranty because I’ve taken it apart. Also when I did take it apart there were these two little rings and I don’t know what they are for and where to put them but one ring is metal and the other is black

The gas nowadays has lubricant in it but it’s still advisable to clean it out every few months it depends how much you use it

I’ve never had that with mine, I would assume it’s a fault, I’d get in contact with the company, explain the issue and they’ll likely just send you another depending where you brought it from.

You have to contact Patrol Base directly and discuss it with them.

If you want to turn it black you can easily remove the slide and grips and either spray them or just purchase the back counter parts
