Do you have an emergency car survival kit for those times when something goes wrong during a road trip? We didn’t. And that’s why our prep for a survival situation continues with this homemade car survival kit.
First, we added items to our personal survival kit to make it more of a complete survival kit, and then sought the best survival tools to have in our car. From tire chains to a snow shovel and blankets to make a winter car survival kit and to basic tools that come in handy any time of the year, we have attempted to make our very own best car emergency kit for peace of mind.

I would highly suggest a couple of fixed blade full tang knives

Great suggestion. I carry the ESEE Laser Strike as part of my complete survival kit (which also goes in the car during trips).

I’d say you could skip the snow chains, but with the crazy weather you’ve been having, maybe not. Plus, someday, maybe you’ll take a very long road trip to visit your buds in KY:)

haha! Nice, Road Trips! Very much fun! Thanks for the video guys! Very important stuff. I like the flares. Those are cool. I think the scariest place that I have ever been in my vehicle was when I drove through Titus Canyon. I had lots of water, food, sleeping bag, guns knives and such. Yes, I always carry toilet paper in my car, especially when driving out West. I keep everything in my car, but have never really been worried while driving anywhere in the East. Now, I have hiked in some very remote tough terrain in the Appalachian Mountains, and I try to always be prepared. I don't do over night backpacking anymore, and stick to day hikes, but even on some of the day hikes, an injury could lead to a survival situation. There was a couple of times I was not really prepared on hikes out West, thinking I would be out and back in 3 or 4 hours, and things got a little sketchy.

Chris was waiting for your comment, Walt:) We know you’ve had many more opportunities for these tools to come in handy, but we’re looking forward to being more adventurous in the near future!

Thinking about your medical kit I would put some peto or tums in there stressful situations can cause tummy as. Also put a tube TAO and gorilla glue for deep cuts. In the winter put 2 bags kitty litter and 2 bags of rock salt in your trunk in case you get stuck in the snow. ps get a bigger tarp.

Chris thinks he’s soooo funny. I’ve only run into a few things and they’ve all been stationary objects 😂

If you really want to be prepared get spare belts (and hoses) for the engine. ummm wash your hands well afterwards? : 😂
@TheMidlifeRide

Good suggestion! And you're not kidding about the hand washing. My first car was a '71 Chevelle and I always had spare belts and hoses on hand when they inevitably had to be replaced.

There’s a part of me that’s paranoid about attracting attention if my car is broken down 🔫🔫🔫
