Hi from New Orleans! Great rendition of the mufaletta! If you want to see the New Orleans original version check out the “Throwdown” episode by Bobby Flay did with the guys from Central Grocery in Nola. Tons more olives and olive oil and various pickled carrots and cauliflower (olive salad).... But you “Yankees” did a great job! Love your channel- keep up the good work! Gonna go watch more of your vids 😍
Thank you Martha. That's a pretty big compliment coming from down there. Before Nate cooked this for us I had never even heard of a mufaletta. The addition of pickled carrots and cauliflower sounds delicious tho. I'll have to search that video out. Thanks again-J
You guys are amazing, I would have never thought about the olives but I think it works on this sandwich, I've actually watched this video before and it looks so good I needed to watch it again, my wife and I have been trying to come up with Christmas dinner it's her family that comes over some are picky and we are all on low-carb diets so I'm going to take this recipe and turn it into a quesadilla possibly add some spicy mustard and swap out the roasted red pepper with sweet peppers just because that's what I prefer but this is going to make one bad ass quesadilla on my griddle.
Looked awesome! Was wondering where this video was going when I saw the thumbnail. This could be a game changer for all kinds of sandwiches! Keep it up with the videos!
Looks delicious!! Have you tried buttering and toasting the inside of the bread before applying the other ingredients? Bet that would add some extra good texture and flavor from the butter!
Thanks for the awesome recipe, looks delicious. I think I'm going to try this out on the Blackstone tonight. Love the videos and content, keep them coming!
Man that looks great!!!! Just a thought, instead of doing a handstand pressing things down. How about some bricks. I keep a couple of bricks and use the tray to keep them out of contact with the food.
I wish I could post pictures here. I do a spatchcocked chicken under a brick. Instead of foiling the bricks each time I put a sheet pan over and weigh it down with the brick. A couple of flips and it is time for happy food. Another benefit of the bricks is I keep them on the lower shelf which is now close enough to the burners to act as a warming rack as I am finishing a dish.
Man, that looks really good. I''m gonna try this, but just for shits and giggles, I'm gonna try a little clarified butter along with the oil on the griddle.
Whats up Troy! So I orignially tried regular butter and the butter browned far to fast, Hence the oil. Butter would be my preference and I had not thought of clarified, that is a really good idea! I would think it would work and add to the richness. Great suggestion! -N
Great lookin sammich guys I'm saving this one so I can do one. Hey Nate tell your brother in-law I'm gonna add extra olives just for him. Don't like olives? Gotta be some kinda genetic disorder there (just kiddin). That was a great video guys. 👍👍
Dam it looks good!! I would chow down on it.. But ill tell you its about 10% of original muffeltta... But its yours and that's alright with me...makes me want one bad!!!
Raised in New Orleans and live 100miles southwest y’all have got y’all’s sh-t together. About as authentic as you can get without the olive salad and round muffuletta bread from Central Grocery. (drizzle that other side of bread with good EVO and use as grill oil). Blackstone takes it to another level. Get me a address and I’ll drop y’all a quart of local original olive salad from down here, great on anything. Great 👍 job boys.......
Thanks so much for the kind words Jon! We really appeciate it! Damn good sandwich and we thank New Orleans for originating it! We are looking forward to making it again for the bowl :D N
The Griddle Guys same here going to make for our Super Bowl party.Seriously get me an address and I’ll send y’all some olive salad, my e-mail ( corinne_jon1@hotmail.com)
