We Made Adjustable Pegs For A BMX Bike and it actually works! This is a DIY prototype that Matty Cranmer built for $36 and the idea is pretty awesome but it definitely needs some adjustments! The whole idea of the adjustable pegs is to be able to grind lower ledges that you normally would not be able to grind on a normal BMX bike!

If any BMX company makes an adjustable peg system like what Matty used in this video, he and Scotty are gonna lose their minds. But I like how they come up with new things to try that shouldn't be used in BMX but they make it work which is awesome.

use some washers, and some solid bushing/spacer to support the bolt and the square metal support

Bout to comment the same. Drill the hole to the size of the bushing, so you can keep it on the bolt.

Spacers inside, and some sort of vertical support to stop the bar from turning. Just a couple nobs or something welded on 👍

I have suggestion. Instead of a bar have disc. Attach the front disc at the axle and on the fork. In the back have the disc attach to the axle and 2 of the rear stays. Next to “unnecessary inventions” you guys are probably the most creative ppl on the planet”net”. Awesome vid. Will too.

Weld some peg bosses to the seat stay and fork leg. You won't have the super low grinds but you can carve and still do the high peg grinds

had this idea but the opposite, peg bosses on up the forks and on the seat tube...you can grind higher things that you couldn't get on previously

One thing that will make that better is use a 1/4 inch steel plate and weld some bracing to it on the frame side so it dont wanna spin

Could easily weld up something using much thicker square tubing Matty that would work and also lock in so as 𝙉𝙊𝙏 to spin or rotate like your experimental pair did. Good idea for sure man.

You could drill the forks and back frame. Install nut serts. A lot of lock tightening. Then weld bolts to the pegs

For the front maybe just weld a plate along some old forks and drill some peg holes. backs a little harder

Weld in some braces / caps. 3/8 tie rod should be more than enough. 3/16 to 1/4 inch square end caps would be overkill but worth it.. OR buy some all-thread and nuts. Then plug the holes you aren’t using with the all-thread and nuts and use as braces

You guys should try to extend the pegs in front of the bike and behind the bike. Start with a good foot in front of the wheel and foot in back and then have different gradients back to where your pegs go You could even banana slide it

looks like you could do some good welding along the frame somehow with some metal? Even on some forks. Id use an old frame/fork and just mess with it..good idea though.

I recently had this problem yesterday. I Rub bricked a ledge for 1 hour. Sprayed it with clear coat. And waxed it. And when I was gonna test it. it was 2cm to low.... 2 hours wasted........

Gotta put some nuts in the tube in order to fill the void, then thread the bolt through and tighten it all up and it should be fine.

Matty is definitely getting creative, if you can get Mike on board with a bit of design and engineering, future videos could be pretty interesting. Will definitely needs the challenges but every time I see him crash, I just think woops, that could have been his arm again.
