Thats because if he dies in the first 10 minutes they restart because it wont be a good manhunt and besides in manhunts he tries his best not to die but here it doesn't matter anyways, you can just get your items back after dying whereas in manhunts he cant respawn.
A year late lol, but when dream said that Dan taught him everything he knows, it made me think of the old video that Dan did on how to make a nether portal without mining obsidian.
