I just checked the menu and I didn't see it but I know you can get a similar sandwich called the Croque Madame at Primo Piatto, it's pretty good! Here's the vid where we tried it :-) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HD_nVYDV4UM.html
Does the magazine have the actual Ronto Wrap recipe from Galaxy’s Edge or the weird recipe they put in all the official cookbooks? I don’t know why but I can never find good copycat recipes for Galaxy’s Edge foods.
As a Montessori teacher, it is so wonderful watching you read and play with Jackson!! You are asking “thinking” questions and Jackson is learning so much more than just straight-away reading at him! Well done trackers
10:37 - The onset of self-awareness (such as regonizing themselves in the mirror) actually occurs at approximately 18 months! Seeing Jackon's developmental benchmarks is so cool!
"I didn't know you love making sandwiches." "That's why I always want to make you a sandwich." "We've been together for 47 years..." "I thought you were 20!!!" 🤣🤣 DYING
When Tim says “ I’m gonna be honest with you. I don’t think this part is very important “ … I feel like what he was REALLY saying is …. “ I’m starving. Let’s just get these sandwiches made, please.” 😂
I love when the two of you get silly. It completely brightens my day. And so does seeing Jackson. He is so cute and so smart. You are both amazing parents!
My son is the same age as Jackson and I just love how he sits here and talks to Jackson every time he comes on the video! It is just the cutest thing as soon as he hears Jackson he comes running over with a huge smile that just makes my entire day! Being local I hope one day we are able to run it you guys at Disney I am so curious to see how my son would react... your videos are one of the few "shows" he will sit down and actually watch!
Just want to tell you guys how much you mean to my 80 year old mommy. She started watching when she got internet at her house. That was just before you became pregnant. She spent 6 months fighting kidney stones and the infection that they caused. 78 days of IV antibiotics and 5 minor surgeries really got her down, but you were the daily dose of “happy” that kept her going. Now each day I come in after teaching school, I get my Jackson update. Hope you know what happiness you bring to our lives. She hasn’t been to Disney in three years. I know the next time we make it to Disney she’ll be looking for you guys everywhere we go. You guys have become part of our “family”. Thank you and keep enjoying every minute.
So worth it to save all that footage. My family has camcorder videos of me as a baby, toddler and kid and I always love watching them and I am glad that they exist. I'm sure Jackson will enjoy watching these videos in the future, too 💜
Tim you can also leave shower head on. Put vinegar in ziplock bag. Use a rubber band to keep on. Leave it on over night and will be all clean in the morning.
Monte Cristos around here (Maine) are the egg sandwiches like Tim read about. Just like French toast with ham, Swiss & turkey. Then we serve it with maple syrup. Also, they have a good monte Cristo at the Riviera resort.
Next Disney DIY needs to be used with Naomi. I think she was judging pretty hard by the monte cristo production. Also, I love seeing you guys be affectionate towards one another-we’re here for it. I love how genuine you all are! 7:17
If only all parents can be as wonderful as you too! ❤️❤️ love when your affectionate with each other! So sweet! You’re sandwiches came out great! The Count of Monte Cristo!
You know oddly enough I found you guys doing Disney recipes… watched you guys for a few years and now I got my own channel.. I like watching you guys cook…. It’s inspiring -Richard
The first time Jackson says Disney, I bet the internet will break. Also for sandwiches- I do bread, condiments, Lettuce, Cheese, Meat, Cheese, more lettuce, toppings (like olives, peppers etc) then more condiments, bread (oh and toast the bread before sandwich making :)
So rare for me to actually catch a video when you drop it, so I HAD to drop a note. I know you hear this ALL THE TIME, but I really enjoy you all. I started watching during quarantine last year....needed some Disney in my life, but got caught up in your story and now I'm hooked. Jackson... as you know is awesome! I am a former 3rd grade teacher who now teaches 2 year olds and so watching him is a ton of fun for me. Thank you also for sharing your fertility issues with us. I too struggled and we eventually decided to stop trying (5 miscarriages.) Your story was sad, but made me happy that you two were brave enough to share....and LOOK, you got blessed in the end! What a great addition to your already fantastic love story. Happy Anniversary. Thanks for being the highlight of my day! (hugs) - Kim from Wisconsin.
The easier version is just doing the bread like a french toast, and then add some Dijon mustard (typically I use Grey Poupon) to it. Comes together in just a few minutes, with much less mess. It also doesn't feel as oily or heavy as the full battered and fried version!
Seriously Jackson is the cutest!! I think I got happy tears like 3x I this vlog! I remember those stages abs they were the best! You guys are taking it all in and it’s so cute to watch! Keep cherishing every moment!
Ding dang! Right on time for my lunchbreak! Double prizes 😃 Also, when you showed that bottle with the vinegar on it, the "We can pickle that!" motto from Portlandia popped in my head.
i really just enjoy watching you 2 every day!!!! i love how happy you 2 are and with jackson now.... he is getting cuter and cuter in every video!! im so ecited for jackson to start talking going to be so much fun to hear him talk..... love ya guys...
One of my favs!!! Monte Cristo with Cajun fries and a "mint julip" from the window right next to the Disney Railway stop and the Haunted Mansion. First time at Disneyland was 1960. I was 7 yrs old and got to meet Walt and Annette Funicello. As we lived in Santa Barbara we came and stayed at my Aunts home in the Pacific Palisades.Did Went to Disney about once every other month for decades... Also in tomorrowland they had a dark chocolate layer cake with fluorescent pink frosting... Oh YUM!!!
Yes, I agree with your final thoughts about deep frying. Dip in egg and cook it as a french toast style ham turkey and swiss instead. That is the style of Monte Cristo I grew up with from a little restaurant in my home town. It wasn't until I was grown and moved to the south that i had the battered and deep fried. I enjoy them too. Now I think I will make a trip to the deli for supplies and relive my youth.
I love when you two cook together! Also, Baby Jackson is just way too cute, I can't, he is so adorable, I love seeing his funny and loving moments with you guys, the best parents for baby Jackson 💕
Love that you've instilled the love of reading into Jackson. And love that he loves his blue balloons! :) OMG - I cracked up right along with you when he waved from the back seat, Jenn!!! Lunch looked really good, except for the chickpeas (don't care of them). Tim - your lunch made me think that I'm going to try either a playa or acai bowl next week, and this kind of looked/sounded like that. Nice job on the Monte Cristos, guys! Can't wait to watch you make other stuff from t that magazine. Socially distanced hugs from New Jersey to the 3 of you. Stay strong, stay positive, stay healthy!!
This was nice ...enjoyed your home. Thanks for the invite. Wow gotta say Jackson is growing so much so fast... He's a cutie too ❤️ wish I could have eaten with you it looked delicious...Jen and Tim you two are so sweet
Parents really do develop crazy patience...If my kid could only say "what's this?" all the time I would probably go crazy or be desperate for them to learn to say anything else ;)
We’ve made these as well. We cut the sandwiches in quarters so the were smaller and we toothpicked them. We also used a deep fryer which allows better oil coverage. They looked just like the Disneyland ones. They are very heavy so smaller portions are better. I’m glad y’all tried them! ☺️ looked fun making them
Hi, this is another great home vlog. Y'all are doing so good teaching Jackson about things and the world. I'm a Junior Student in College learning to be a Teacher, and I think y'all are doing very good teaching Jackson. Also, His waving to y'all and us is so adorable🤗. It would be cool to learn some Disney foods and cook at home, because we miss the delicious foods Disney has until our next vacation time. Very nice vlog. Enjoyed. Be Safe Take Care ❤️❤️❤️
Monte Cristo hack for a lighter sandwich - we buy the French toast from the freezer section, make the sandwiches and just toast them up in a pan or oven. Just be careful not to try them out if you use the oven. You may be able to air fry them!
True confession: I am the queen of remaking recipes! Years ago I wanted to make a lower fat version of the Monte Cristo and decided to use Texas Toast and make it into slices of french toast. I then assembled my sandwich on the french toast slices and put them on a cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick in the oven at 400 degrees for 5 minutes, flip them over and bake for another 5 minutes. You get the same crispiness with a fraction of the calories!
So funny "Weve been married like 47 years and Jen said I thought you were 20." Lol. 🤣You guys are so cute together. I love watching y'all at home goofing around reminds me of my husband and I. 😍
Great home vlog ! Jackson is amazing , I can’t wait for the first time he says his first sentence! I love funnel cake lol the sandwiches looked yummy ! Stay safe x
Ahhh you guys are so cute 😭😭 Jackson is like words just come out!! He’s wanting them to just blurt out so bad lol. Thanks for the hard water life hack!
I bet the Monte Cristo wld be better with Kerrigould butter. I have to say it looked good. I'm ording the Magizine one for myself and my grandson. He loves to cook (10 yes old). Thanks for sharing. I've been watching you guys daily and I so much enjoy the content especially with Jackson. He reminds me of my grandson. I love that you guys give him all these experiences, you have know idea how much this will help him as he gets older. Thanks for sharing.. love 💘
To get the bread slices to match up easy trick: place both slices on top of each other the way that they were cut from the loaf. Take the top slice and just flip twords you with out picking it up and moving it in another position. IE: Flat side (bottom of slices) would touch same to same if you pushed them together. There you go.. Also I put layer mustard of mayo, 1/2 the cheese, then ham, Turkey and remaining cheese. Plus a pie plate to put the batter in as you won't have to fish the Sando out of the deep batter..
I've eaten the Monte Cristo countless times at Disneyland, and its still my favorite. Also, I was at Disneyland for DVD's birthday celebration and I was standing close to Cafe Orleans while he and his group were singing from the balcony!
Jackson seems to listen so well to you two! I really think you should try asking him to say words more often. I'm wondering if every time you ask him "what are you playing with? is that your truck?" he's probably thinking "uh, yeah, my truck. you just answered your own question"! Haha!
Loved this! I love monte cristo sandwiches. I make them as a grilled sandwich. You can just leave off the egg and grill like you said or dip sides in egg mix and grill. Or you can make french toast first and use that as your bread and grill Dip in maple syrup. So good!
I haven’t laughed this hard in a while. This is the best home blog. I love them all but jacksons dance description and tater tots and jen grabbing the knife and tim like oooh! 🤣
All ears has a ton of Disney recipes on line....you should try the LeCellier Cheddar Beer Soup...its very easy just takes some time stirring constantly. So worth it...delicious!
When you guys do a cooking vlog, it always makes me so hungry 😋 The sandwiches looked delicious but very filling…thanks for sharing! Maybe one day we’ll try to make them 😊
Not sure if someone already said this but you can definitely make the Monte Cristo in the air fryer. Just be sure to line the bottom with parchment paper for easier cleanup
Tim and Jen would be fantastic on a PDA vlog. 🤣Tim math should not be relied on in an emergency. If you air fry something in batter, just put a piece of baking paper in the basket before putting it in.
Aaw Jackson, waving and smiling at himself on the video 💗 Your sandwiches sounded so crispy! They looked good ...but yes maybe too oily- worth a try though!
You can air-fry a cake batter, so I would think you could air fry a Monte Cristo sandwich. Jackson is going to see these videos some day and see all the fun stuff you did once he went to bed. He's missing out on a great sandwich. :)
