When Mark is serious he avoids even more the eye contact. It got tense a little bit but great honest discussion amongst friends. Thanks for sharing and not editing it out
things got real by 47:28 and I love it. Ive always found Sam and Mark much too agreeable with each other on every topic of each episode. Its nice to see them exploring disagreements.
I agree. Mark's such a nice guy and I feel gets talked over a lot, I'm glad he piped up! I adore Sam but at the same time he tries to hard to be so "correct" all the time come on you mean to tell me you're that aware all the time 🤔, it feels unatural lol, but that's why he's great too b/c he's point blank.
I happen to like the dynamic between these two, Sam is more cerebral and comes more “correct” but still is funny and Mark is more silly / goofy and more likely to be “incorrect” sometimes they will call each other out but mostly click. Tuesday W Stories I feel there isn’t any difference in their joking style/ way they talk, almost hard to tell apart, here there is more contrast.
I do too. These people LOVE to throw out the “CANCEL” word way too easily. Dave’s not even close to cancelled. The woman complaining/disagreeing on the other hand IS.
Classic on bathroom issues: Dave Attell's comment on a heavy off load that vanishes. There was nothing in the bowl and he pulls up the seat and finds it attached to the lip of the bowl, I Tony Hawked it
And rewatched the Joker this week and when you mentioned joaquin phoenix it reminded me of Sam’s cameo bits in the movie. Super cool! I didn’t know who you were then so it kinda made that part a little bit cooler.
Mark- “I should point out, I have black dick.” Sam- completely oblivious Mark- smiles, quietly amused with himself Lol Mark is my favorite person I’ve never actually met!
For Marks bit i think it would work if he went at it through the perspective of a women having to use a bathroom after a guy level shit just took place. Statistically guys are shitting more in public places than women for sure
@Mark, that INTERVENTION scene was one of my favorite scenes in Soprano’s - along with the more serious Carmela and Tony fight when they were separating.
I made the Arch @ st Louis the center stage of DEFIANCE a Star trek spin-off as a supreme effort to be inclusive of the center of the country.Sam tells funny stories some unintentional.
I think it was a calculated move by Netflix to get people to watch the special... just imagine how many tuned in based on the media "controversy" and it was broadcasted around the world
The SRP for Blanton’s is like $50. There’s just so much demand for it because of the cool bottle and the fact that it’s a Buffalo Trace product, so privately owned stores mark up the price like crazy on it. Anyone who is really into whiskey knows that Blanton’s is just pretty good, but not worth paying over $70ish for. There are a ton of bourbons that are much better for the price and that are easier to find
Bartender here, If you're doing Champagne you gotta do a Champagne Royale. Is a shot of brandy, little simple syrup (dash or two) and fill with Champagne. It's a Man's mimosa. A Manosa if you will... Also, if you kick a door and don't get hurt, it's badass. Usually that ends with someone on the ground because they fail.
I'd love to see a compilation of Sam doing Rodney, I'd keep that shit on loop. No better way to kick off the week than with this podcast. Fucking love you guys.
Mark you need to watch "the holy mountain" That shitting bit is golden and this movie will give u the key u need to develop it, they go in on that premise
Yeah, although Mark’s point is don’t criticize/make fun of/ disagree with a comics jokes because you might hurt their feelings and they will get sad and take pills. Almost playing victim card. Isn’t that another way to silence people? - don’t do it or else he will get sad! That would eliminate most jokes and crit. If we’re truly separating art from artist we should be able to criticize or even dismiss content freely without the comedian taking it personal, and getting sad, right? Once you put jokes out there you gotta expect people are gonna have thoughts (for better or worse) and It’s not like he hasn’t made offensive jokes at others peoples expense before.
So many people in the comments act like they're the executive producer of this pod. Stop complaining and bitching, Mark and Sam don't have to be doing this but they are. Be grateful for their incredible chemistry and the comedy !!
Great movie score recc (although it may not be great for letting your mind wander): The Mask of Zorro. You’re gonna feel like a swashbuckling, horseback riding hero and wanna do some bad ass shit. RIP James Horner
I saw Mark in Nashville. Best $5 I've spent since donating my 1st grade allowance to the church collection plate. Hey, at least I got a priestly "how-do-ya-do" instead of 10 hail mary's and an our father.
Blanton's is $60 not $200. it comes from buffalo trace who also makes pappy, eagle rare, stagg, Weller, Elmer t. lee. people might ask $200 for it but you shouldn't pay over $90
hell yah Sam..i love hearing you guys speaking the truth..in the streets here in Los Angeles county..we all get along...watch baseball or football games..we united, its fucking social media...preach!! USA#1
Blantons is excellent but it’s definitely not $200 per bottle. The owner of my local liquor store lets me buy it out of their back room for $80. Most stores charge at least $100
Other than Sam's 15 Minute anti-Dave rant, another great EP. Also, I don't have cancer, but I definitely donate to support the cause and try to raise awareness.
Great pod as always guys. Absolutely love both your work. BUT!… the audio levels on this one, with all the scores, is out of whack and too loud. Just a bit of tech feedback. Anyway… keep it up and howdy doo from Australia.
The reason why you drink warm drinks when your sick is because our bodies aren’t meant to take in cold things. The warmth is smoother on the throat and stomach and depending what it is, can act as a natural cough suppressant.
I actually appreciated the deep dive into Sam’s take and vent over cancel culture issues and Chappelles special even though it went for 20 minutes. Ride the wave.
