This is one of our most ambitious projects, and one of the most risky. Moving five ancient century old olive trees onto our Portugal homestead which we've bought from a neighbour. Will they survive? Can we do it? Is this a good idea? and, how much did we pay for them?

The best part of this whole thing is that when you and John are long gone and Sawyer and Caruso are grandparents they can tell their grandchildren or even great grandchildren that they watched these trees get moved and planted. And he can even back up his stories with these videos.

Oh my goodness. I have to admit to writing this message with a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat. Good things happen to good people and here’s your reward. Mario was awesome getting those beautifully old trees out and replanted the same day. The view from the window was lovely but the view from the driveway next morning was on another level. I for one can’t wait to watch them grow.

Wonderful project. Wonderful neighbours. What a blessing to have Joao and Mario to help. Those olives will be beautiful, and so special to save them from the brambles and vines! In Turkey, when they move olives, they cut all the branches off, so that all that remains is the trunk. Seems impossible that they will recover and grow again, but they do!

Oh, guys! You had me in tears! Olive trees are so blessed! They give you their fruit,their shade, their wood, their leaves Even when you cut them below where the branches shoot out, to make them grow to the height easy to be picked when they yield their crop, they grow back so fast! They are amazing! I' ve got an olive grove of 83 among which I planted edible olive trees and also a line of edible along the path leading to the little stone chapel we built in our twenties and got married in. I miss them so much as I haven't been with them for five years.I' ve been picking and looking after them since my twenties, with a brake of seven years in London. I have them in my heart and mind and I hope I get better soon and go back to them! Pray for me as I pray for your wel being! It's so good to have such nice neighbours, God bless them ! Crusoe, I think red becomes you! You should wear it more often! Sawyer, you are also becoming a chatter box, just like mum, dad and Crusoe😂.Love you all and wish all of us here that March treats us as well as it's started ,❤❤❤❤,,

I know this will sound weird but it happened, a girl i watched having a quantum hypnosis session talked about a life she had as a tree, why would anyone want to be incarnated as a tree, well she said what she learnt whilst being a tree was everything about the environment the weather in all seasons ,how the wind changes and why , everything about the animals that landed on her the rain and what happened to each drop as it fell off her and how it became part of something else as it landed, trees are very old and wise .she did say it was a very boring life though and it ended because she was cut down , a new lease of life is exactly what your trees will be getting, new knowledge , she said as we hug trees we absorb their knowledge and energy,walking among them does the same, in this life shes a very good gardener ,so enjoy your trees and know that you are extending their knowledge and loving them, what more could a bored tree want in its old age ❤🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

What an incredible opportunity to be able to buy such old and beautiful olive trees. They have transformed the drive and fit so well within the landscape of your property. I pruned my two very young olive trees yesterday and potted up about 10 of the clipping in hopes they would root. I couldn't stop smiling watching this episode. You have truly rescued the olives. They will show their gratitude for the light and space you are giving them.

John talks about being humbled by Nature...... my beautiful and very spiritual soul sister from Swaziland taught me how to physically feel the energy that trees want to share with us. It's the most incredible and soul humbling feeling to lean into an old tree and just feel the deep rumbling/vibrating throughout your own body. It took me a few months to not think and empty my mind and just feel the tree. I'm now addicted and whenever I feel overwhelmed or stressed, I escape to find an old tall tree and have telepathic conversations, (so I don't look too much like a crazy woman)😅😅 Enjoy those beautiful old Olive trees guys, they hold so much information 😊
