I follow you on that one. I strongly believe that watching so many movies and series have negatively altered our way to approach life. Nobody goes to pee or poo in almost any movie, doors aren't locked, nobody farts... Very freudian description but not on purpose ^^ it's just what easily comes to mind. But I guess you can see the point.

The fact that building nowadays is an impossible thing to do if you don’t have the money. It doesn’t even matter where you live anymore, it’s that expensive. It’s just sad. So many of us probably would love to have their own home to live in

I live in the mountains of Colorado at an elevation of 8200 feet and I use a wood cook stove all the time to heat my homestead and cook on.

Yeah, and check beforehand how many KwH the stove is said to have, because they do not all have the same heating capacity ;)

@@paolagrando5079 Hats off to him !! I'd rather live like him than in any apartment in a large city,where you are dependent on the 💩system that could be closed down at anytime they wish to do so. Plus the advantage of far less expense. The biggest drawback that I can see so far is not having a road right up to the house. But maybe in future this could be feasible. Auguri di buone feste.🎄🎄🎄

@@angelaberni8873 There are advantages and disadvantages to both ways of life. As you pointed out in your comment. A major issue with living in the the mountains in Italy is a) that you are entirely dependent on having a car, and b) you can have a long drive down steep windy roads to get anywhere else, which can be a problem for example in snow and ice, though no doubt that is part of the attraction. When I bought in Italy the place was surrounded by hundreds of sq km of hills/mountains, but I could walk to the shops in 10 mins. And I have lived in a rustico, an hour's walk from the town, and without a car, which in winter was not easy. Anyone who decides to live in a remote place in Italy, or anywhere else, has to think carefully about what they are doing, though it looks on the face of it that this guy has done so, either that or he has had previous experience. Whichever, I wish him luck.

Are mountain locations in UK/US/Canada et al served with underground/subway stns next to your house? In Italy/Europe it might be hours to get to the nearest shop right? In the US/Canada it might take a day(s) before you actually reach what some might call civilisation. "Steep drives down winding roads", who would have thought when you live up a mountain! Snow and ice , bloody hell(!), I thought Italy was always sunny! You must certainly be some clueless UK townie on a mid life crisis...

@@luiginiolu6842 You miss the fact that I was replying to a comment about the drawbacks of living in the city, that there are pros and cons to both, one of which is that you don't need a car in a city. I live in the hills in Italy ( and I know all about the rural life), but not halfway up a mountain, been there done that, the difference being that I prefer not to have to drive 40 hairpin bends (closed in winter snow, at least where I live, where you get a metre) to visit a cafe, etc. Great if you like the challenge. Canada/US, both of which I know, in particular the Northern Sierra, cannot in any way be compared with Italy. I've seen several people buy and sell up near me. Why? I know an agent who has 300 properties in the hills on his books, and has difficulty selling anything that is remote, needs restoration, lacks mod cons, or does not have a pool. Does that tell you anything? I wonder why these properties are cheap? Is it because people are stupid? In case you didn"t know, rural properties, with land, are two a penny in Italy, I've got two for sale myself, one unchanged in 300 years, stupendous views, built in stone, (including the roof), in the back of beyond. Wanna buy it ? On second thoughts, not to you, I'd rather sell to someone who is courteous. I'm fully aware of the charms (and problems) of country living in Italy, which is why I bought the properties in the first place.
