Thankyou for sharing your experience! Me and my partner have started the process to move to Sydney in 2025 With his job, he will be away across Australia Monday-Friday, sometimes over the weekend too and I’ll be on my own knowing no one I really look up to your journey and how you’re doing everything alone.. please don’t stop making videos!!
No Doubt you will have your bad days , but just imagine what my parents went through .... they moved from Aberdeen in 1958 to the outskirts of Melbourne . Dirt Roads no town water it was water tanks . No flush toilets it was basically a can with a seat on it that had to be emptied by the users . often finding tiger snakes curled up on the back step . Hearing strange grunting and squealing with thumps on the roof at night , finding out later it was just Koala's . we had one car which Dad drove to work if mum wanted to take us kids to town it was approx 2 miles walk along dirt roads ( no footpaths ) to the station where you had to use a flag to get the train to stop :) about 30 minutes later you would get to Frankston which is roughly 1 hour from Melbourne by train .Not taking away from what you are feeling or experiencing just thought i would describe what some have gone through .
I moved to another country along time ago, it can get difficult, but once Isla has a playgroup you will meet mums and get some friends and it will be some support for you. Also your husbands workmates will have wives you might get on with, just be open to anything and things will get easier. 😊
You are going to be overwhelmed from time to time but that shiela in Target should have seen you were in trouble and offered to help. I know how hard it was for my parents over 50yrs ago when we came out from Scotland, Prestwick was where we came from, and it was hard for them and we had family here. I was fifteen so I basically left on my own while they struggled with my younger siblings who weren't adapting to well. But 50yrs on I asked my father if he thought it was a good idea to emigrate and he said yes. There are going to be bumps in the road but there are help groups out there.
@Kimberley Lucas hahaha, you'll get there mate. I hope you meet friendly neighbour's to help uou when times get tough. You will find a lot of people out there who are nice.
To be honest though I am in the same situation with getting support because I am old, my children are scattered ,wife works etc etc etc and I was born here !!! Like for instance I had to go into daycare for a procedure, had to get the wife to take a day off to get me there, to pick me up (because you are not allowed to drive after an op )It's the same with everything all family are gone so it revolves around use of the car, organizing to suit my wifes work schedule using her days off for all other things, so , really, you ain't doing so bad 😇 My best friend is NETFLIX and KAYO😂
