Microsoft's ecosystem is just plain poor, and that's before you discuss the amount of games they do/do not have compared to others. Using machine translations for their UI, no marketing outside of the US/UK, etc. What's happening with FF14 on Xbox is just another example. They may have a long-term strategy, but there is no short-term promise to start building a base for that log-term goal. For a company that has bought countless studios over the past decade, they have little to show for it outside of Zenimax's titles (Not Bethesda).

I am so glad to hear your thoughts on those Ocarina of Time Unreal Engine asset flips. They all look like they're missing the soul of the game. The only one that I've seen that is worth viewing was the one that got done in the style of a Studio Ghibli film. That had an entire feel & actual breath of life in it. Lastly I'll say, if there's anyone I would want to handle an Ocarina of Time remake/remaster, it would be Ember Labs studio. I still remember their 3D short film regarding Majora's Mask. Would love to have them recreate Ocarina in that style. Thanks again for another great video Nate & MVG.

Love how Nate and MVG ignores the elephant in the room regarding the multiplat strategy which is Xbox sales dropping even further and publishers dropping support. Why didn’t you mention publishers questioning xbox and their support during GDC from Chris Dring? He cited low sales and the multi platform strategy as the reason. “You could’ve played on PC before Xbox went through with this strategy “. Love the strawman. PlayStation would be the place to play Xbox games, and better on PS5 as well with visual and controller upgrades. Tell me, why should anyone invest in Xbox? Gamepass is NOT a selling feature. The first negative thing I’ve heard about Rebirth was from Nate and MVG and god damn, that was harsh. 😮 I only read the initial reviews (which were glowing) and that was enough for me to buy it and I love it so far.

I live by the joycons, generally. Being able to split my arms and relax and playing on the couch or bed, or having my daughter on my lap, this is huge.

I feel you guys with the joy-con thing, but I gotta say that kids and casuals LOVE them. My friends and family all use them detached all the time.

I like 2024 quite a bit already. Helldivers 2, FF 7 Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, and Dragons Dogma 2 have been great. Stellar blade, No Rest for the Wicked, Black Myth Wukong, Silent Hill 2 remake, metal gear solid 3 remake, and Assassins Creed Red later on. And we’ll see what else gets announced. Hopefully Silksong

I really don’t see how the CFO lets them keep making hardware for a decreasing playerbase. I don’t see why anyone would buy an Xbox over anything else. And if the hardware means nothing to MS, at what point do they stop manufacturing it? Again at some point the numbers people are going to pull the plug let’s be real. You can’t keep paying millions for RnD on a product no one buys.

I'm a bit worried that the MIG Flash card could do some harm for "Switch 2" backwards compatibility for physical games. Maybe it's backwards compatible with digital games only.

Do you think when Xbox comes out with their handheld Xbox they put and connect gamepass with it. So out the box you have a collection of games to play on the go? And it be like the console version not the pc one? I hope so. Because I be all in and get it on day one

Regarding NSO on the next gen Switch; I really want to know if they are going to continue to JUST rent us the games; or will they start offering options to buy the games ala carte. Even in the cases where some of the games are avialable via some other offical retro compilations or released; some of the NSO versions of the games run better than those collections (SPECIFICALLY the GENESIS games compared to the ones on the GENESIS Classic colleciton).

I think 2025 is going to be a very big year for Sony. They've got the PS5 Pro launching at the end of 2024 and there's multiple studios, both 1st and 2nd party, that will be ready to launch next year. I think we'll see 2 or 3 big 1st party games and Death Stranding 2 will be their big 2nd party game. I think at least one live service game will launch as well.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake's story twist that it's actually a sequel is fantastic because it doesn't devalue the original game, there's still a reason to go back and play the original. I'm not sure I like the path of an RE4 remake-like Ocarina Of Time because then there'd be no reason to enjoy the original game anymore, and we already did have Ocarina of Time 3D which just wasn't that interesting or memorable.

I'm 8 minutes in and want to address why someone like myself are now losing faith with the Xbox Platform. Durning the release of the PS5 and Series X, I hated the Comcast specs of the PS5. (They kept quoting up to numbers instead of hard consistent numbers) I also wanted to give Microsoft another chance since I thought there's no way they'll repeat the failure of the Xbox One right... Sadly I was wrong. The only reason I haven't sold my Xbox and swore off the brand is because it's the only current gen console I can still use my Favorite 8Bitdo Pro 2 controller. The PS5 controller is too think and I can't hold it for long and I'm *not* a fan of Xbox analog layout Xbox bringing their games to other platforms only ensure they care nothing about their brand so its foolish for me to when they clearly don't. I feel stupid for giving them another shot. Okay, back to the video.

I am very confused on the xbox conversation, I own all 3 systems and xbox has significantly under preformed, nintendo clearly has games, I don’t care what other people say but yes…sony has games that are bangers, where is xbox at? Give me the 360 library feels, i am never going to be loyal to big companies cause their loyalty is to their wallets, I won’t be buying the next gen xbox until their library expands greatly

I have this gut feeling that even Nintendo will end up capitulating and porting their games to PC once their development costs become overly high. It looks like an unavoidable future even if Nintendo tries to delay it as long as possible.

Instead of remaking Ocarina of Time, Nintendo should remaster the 3DS version along with Majora's Mask and do a third game featuring the Hero of Time. Basically reimagine that version of Hyrule without shitting on the original game.

I'm not even going to try guessing Nintendo's next system's name. They're going to come up with a name no one would guess

Breath of the Wild doesn't compare to Ocarina of Time, Ocarina of Time came out when we moved on from 2D into 3D, no one thought it would be possible and we've never seen anything like it. Gaming will never have another amazing moment like going from 2D into 3D gaming, thats another reason why Ocarina of Time out shines Breath of the Wild, Breath of the Wild just copies western game open world ideas and puts it into a Zelda game.

I could see Microsoft offering an Xbox OS where companies could build around. To say Devs won't want to cater for different specs forgets they do this on PC already. Instead of Windows you could get Xbox OS designed around gaming.

Ocarina of time is less out dated than breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom. The new Zelda games play like a RPG from the year 2000 pre Morrowind with no depth to gameplay with a large and empty world.

Gaming is dying, I'm afraid.
