Hang on, are we pretending AEW hasn’t been shitting on WWE from the start? Cody breaking the throne? The AEW wrestler frequently talking about WWE on AEW TV, or social media. Tony himself shitting on WWE. AEW fans are constantly in the comment sections of WWE stuff, the difference is that the AEW fans feel like it makes sense there little guy company can shit on the big bad WWE. If WWE fans shit on AEW, then it’s suddenly unfair the large more popular company and their fans are picking on little AEW 😂 each side has their crazy people
@@osiawideman4851 Tony Khan is constantly trying to beef with WWE like it's the Monday night wars or accusing them of trying to mess with there talent, or even little things like shitting on jinder mahal or other WWE booking. This is just off the top of my head. Everyone who leaves WWE and goes to AEW (except Daniel) has a speech about WWE sucks and they do this cause they know it's a easy way to get AEW fans to cheer since AEW audience is so obsessed about WWE. Meanwhile on WWE, AEW isn't mentioned. WWE stars aren't tweeting about AEW (except seth that one time and he got dive bombed for it) If WWE and their talent acted like AEW and their talent/fans do, AEW fans would riot.
If the TV deal rumors are true, and AEW become the 2nd most profitable wrestling company in the history of wrestling (im guessing passing WCW) then thats impressive for a company thats only 5yrs old.
Just remember that TNA lasted longer than both WCW and ECW combined with people constantly saying that it will go away 'soon'. NWA is still around as well, no really it is.
Why didn't whatculture have this same energy when people were trashing WWE pre-pandemic and the end of Vince's tenure? Oh wait, it's because they were also trashing WWE at the time 😂😂
What's foley supposed to say? "The guy made me rich and i probably saw unsavory behavior from Vince but took the money anyway? " Mick is a good guy. We know this, so why does it matter what he thinks of Vince?
Unoriginal. IT might actually be cool if they came up with something original but they just copy whatever popular acts are doing. That shirt goes hard but everyone knows that its a derivative of what Roman has going on rn.
@@justGSquared bad faith actors for wrestling? Y’all need to grow up and learn that this shit is entertainment. Imagine thinking someone is a bad faith actors for not liking Tom cruise movies. If you need the entire community to enjoy something for you to enjoy it you’re a whiny child nothing more nothing less. AEW is a fine product if someone with MILLIONS of viewers disagrees with that I don’t care but obviously his viewers do so as Simon would say “who flubbing cares”
@EmberMcLain87 something will still have to go. Between AEW and ROH there's just too many shows, they pretty much have a show for every day of the week currently and already only put a focus on Dynamite and occasionally Collision. Realistically they need to focus on Dynamite and Collision drop the other two shows they still have going, and hand off ROH to somebody else to deal with. Then have Dynamite, Shockwave, and Collision in that order each week.
What made "Saturday Night's Main Event" such a big deal in the past was back then all we got on TV from the WWF was star vs jobber matches... when Main Event came along it was the first time we got actual star vs star matches that didn't end after 1-2 minutes in a disqualification. We get that now on weekly television through RAW and SmackDown... so its hard to see this being all that special.
to add to your point it was also at a special time and a different channel and promo'd as a PPV-type deal. I remember I was a kid when it started I was fighting to stay awake. stayed up long ago to fall asleep to Koko B. Ware making his entrance
Even Swerve said in an interview. Its kinda weird that every time AEW is having a big event, suddenly negative rumors start getting posted in the media with no proof.
@@ryderdaniels2401 you are automatically at war with wwe & their marks when you start a 'pro-wrestling' company because wwe have been winning the war for decades

We won’t know anything until it’s announced and anything from Meltzer requires a massive grain of salt (that you guys never seem to take as you spread his word as relative fact). The fact of the matter is that the network cares about things that other people don’t. They may only care that it hits a certain threshold in certain areas. So anyone hoping that they’ll just drop them altogether is a bit foolish as AEW still hits relatively decent numbers compared to other things (just not compared to themselves two years ago). They’ll get a deal, and maybe it’ll be a touch better than the last one. But it won’t be as big an increase as it would have been if their numbers across the board haven’t been dropping these past couple years at the rate they’ve been. A lot of people are just asking them to reflect on reasons why. They lost me as a fan and have done nothing to get me to reconsider since. I don’t hope they go out of business, having another company be big enough to give wrestlers an alternative is very important I think. But I do hope that they do that reflection instead of the deflection they’ve been doing. “To be under constant attack” boo-f***ing-hoo. They were doing over a million viewers routinely for a little while there, now a GREAT week is 800,000 (and they very rarely hit that these days). They used to have packed arenas, now they can only fill up one side and not even all of it (except for PPVs). These are facts. Yes, some hate them irrationally and have since they started, but they were just outliers for a while, now they’ve grown in number. There are reasons for that.
Complaining cus someones is saying "il hold full judgement until i see the evidence in court" is crazy, thats literally how society is supposed to work guys, however sure we are from the tiny bits od details we get. Yall are being very holier than thou again, not gonna lie it makes it hard to watch, its always worse with andy there, sorry but its true, ive gott turn this off again cus i just cant keep listening to it
I love how andy will get out the pitchforks for anyone saying anything bad about AEW.. but sure JUMPED on the story about NXT moving to a smaller venue... and the fact is numbers dont lie so......
Lol these 2 dudes are clowns, Mick Foley sees the best in people. He wants to see the facts before he makes his decision. When you have relationships with people it can get really complicated. You can tell these 2 idiots live in a bubble.
I guarantee nobody has received 16 very heavy, unprotected chair shots to the head within mere minutes and put together a basic sentence two decades later even half as well as Mick Foley did. Was it well-worded? No, but he's been rattled harder than any other wrestler in history still alive today. Mick Foley has lived through both major eras: taking concussion and debilitating damage AND wellness policy helping to keep him alive through all those injuries.
Well people have to understand that regardless of what is going on these people are saying how they feel we can’t tell anyone how to say certain thing because a lot of them didn’t have the same experience with Vince as that young lady I hate having to hear what happened to her but til everything is said and done it’s only fair to presume that this is all alleged! Unfortunately he is considered innocent till proven guilty so people are gonna say these good things of Vince
As bad as the internet wants to make AEW seem that is without a shadow of a doubt the number two wrestling show fans who don't love the E tune into that and don't even pretend it's TNA
see, careful, that's one of those "crazy theories" (aka unpoppular facts) that will have andy cry/laughing and melodramatically tossing his head into his hands "what are we doing here guys?" indeedf
They're probably thinking if AEW sticks around long enough. It might beat out WWE in the ratings. Which it won't. However, after Tony Khan's tone deaf comments of comparing WWE to Harvey Weinstein. I would've ended the company right then and there!
Because AEW has major potential for an Upside and USA Network maintained WWE in the early 90s when tv and house shows were in the Garbage before 1996. Terrible attendance? Compared to An NWA, GCW,real indies (even good ones) AEW is still head and shoulders above everyone except WWE. And also it's demand for content and in history Wrestling is still relatively cheap to produce.
At this point the aew TV deal reminds me of the South Park episode with George RR Martin. I think the reason for that is making a video four times a week telling us about this deal!
A lawsuit doesn't prove anything. This is why we wait for things to come out in court. And you can't tell Foley or anyone how to feel about Vince. It's their relationship with him behind the scenes
I disagree with Foley, but his opinion is reasonable. The lawsuit hasn't been tested in court, so until that point Foley is well within his rights to wait for the outcome before passing judgement and I feel it's unfair to criticise him for that.
@@dogred431 even an outcome is an opinion, "we believe that vince a straight white rich successful male is guilty, why? because he's a straight white rich successful male"
Saturday nights main event played a big role in the Mega Powers exploding story line, get it back to having relevant impacting events occurring on it just like the 90's
Giving Foley benefit of doubt, maybe he's afraid of Vince Mcmahon, either on a voodoo level, or whatever nefarious reach he might have criminally etc, but on surface level Vince Mcmahon needs no praise, he needs to take accountability for the range of public betrayals and then some, he's inflicted.
When I was younger and I used to watch WWE, ROH, TNA, Lucha Underground etc I watched and loved it all, I never once concerned myself with these companies TV Deals, I'm there to be entertained and that happened, job done, onto the next show. I hate how people are these days, just watch and talk about what you enjoy, and don't watch or talk about what you don't enjoy and let the business people worry about the business side of things. It's really simple.
nah I dont think so... I've always been a fed guy (still am) but when i go to "my thing" and get a change of seats or see rows of tarps because the sales are in the crapper that much (and they were) I sat with my friends and had honest "hey this is or thing, i hope our thing get's their shit together" AEW fans like andy and sidg can't do that, it's all sunshine lillipops and unicorn farts... and if you break that illusion YOU'RE the scum LOL
It's the best it's ever been AEW is super versatile All in vs All Out was so different it's really the home of professional wrestling every ppv is on another level
I agree people just need to leave It be and move! Why give it your energy it so insane! I’m a fans of both WWE and AEW I just want to enjoy watching my favorite stars in both companies and others around the world
Question: if Adam thinks his opinion of not caring about how much each company makes is the opinion of most people….. Then why are you constantly talking about it? Wouldn’t you want to do stories that people actually want to hear? Or was it just another chance to go off on a rant about people you disagree with? That seems to be the general layout nowadays. 1-2 news stories then a whole bunch of opinions on other people’s opinions and how their opinions are so much better.
Difference is that both wwe and netflix announced their deal. The aew deal is still just more rumours with nothing confirmed from either party. Just Meltzer talking and so far he's had a terrible 2024. But Aew could go free on RU-vid forever if TK wants to keep funding it.
You guys are asses, someone is innocent until proven guilty, who said the lawsuit is gospel. He worded it fine. It's nothing to clarify, wait until the case is settled. I have a question why wasn't anything filed as long as she was being paid.
I love WWE I love TNA I enjoy certain aspects of AEW though not all however whether I’m a fan of the product and it’s totality or not I would never wish for the company to fail I would never wish for anyone to lose their job I am very grateful to AEW for its existence because it’s made WWETNA even better than before competition tends to do that however it is hilarious to me that you guys are defending some thing that none of you not Dave not Sean Ross Not what culture not wrestle talk none of you know the truth financial situation of all elite wrestling because they are not a publicly traded company which means none of you are privy to their financial records so none of you can speak on it you can’t even speculate on it because you have no physical proof or example to go based off of😂😂 so trying to argue about how much money they’re going to make have made or could make makes all of you so-called journalists seem very freaking stupid I say this as someone with a doctorate in international business finance🤣🤣🤣🤣. How the hell does Dave know that they’re going to be the second most profitable promotion when he’s never seen a P&L? Smh 🤦🏽♀️
Dave doesn't even know what's happening on Raw and Smackdown next week, he constantly does nothing but spout a million things hoping 4 or 5 will come true 😂 he's the most irrelevant "reporter" on earth.
@@sehelmalso whenever they played trump saying god bless the USA, they would say stuff like we don’t endorse him or support him or whatever, and every time I’m like idgaf who yall are endorsing or like yall are from the uk it’s not like you could vote for him or against him
“It’s all there in the lawsuit”? What is? Allegations in a civil lawsuit. Not sure how it is in UK, but just because it says something in a civil or even criminal lawsuit, doesn’t mean that the allegations are true. A criminal is innocent until proven guilty, same with a civil suit, but the burden and standards of proof are much lower in a civil suit. Either way, allegations are only that until proven.
Mick gave a down the middle response to a tough question. He could have just said no comment but it just sounds like people are giving him shit for not bad mouthing Vince. He literally said he would withhold judgment for something that has yet to conclude.
I am so sick of the moving goalposts from the anti-AEW crowd. Here’s the thing, if you really hate something this much that you want to see so many lose their job? You need a new hobby
I don't see a point in asking Foley, someone who has absolutely nothing to do with either the lawsuit or the heirarchy of WWE as a whole right now, about Vince, just seems like someone trying to get a non-thought out potentially harmful response
Or, get this, hate AEW all you want, don't watch it, but be happy for the wrestlers because they have a legit NA alternative AND competition creates a good product in WWE. When WWE doesn't have competition, their product tends to lack...
@@webdesignerplays Because twitter is going to twitter. The difference is that WhatCulture Wrestling pretends to be an unbiased wrestling news platform. Yet theres exceptionally clear bias when it comes to AEW and stuff like this is particually disagreeable because its not a "meh, people have different wrestling tastes" issue. Its a double standard, they don't fill thier news reports of stupid shit said about TNA on twitter, or stupid shit said about WWE on twitter. Its just when random twitter people post negative stuff about AEW its suddenly "HOW DARE ANYONE SAY SOMETHING NEGATIVE ABOUT AEW!". Its disengenous and annoying.
@@GamerFlair They point out what stupid people say about WWE all the time. It's just that most of that is at least reasonable (or not notable) and most of the anti-AEW shit is just blatant lies. You're the one being disingenuous (it has an "i" in it, by the way) and annoying.
while I am personally not the biggest fan of AEW, I feel they are important and need to do well, 170 per year Plus if they can get RoH some kind of TV and they do a deal for PPV/PLE (sorry) and can do well, it is good for the business as a whole. again, I may disagree with some booking and matches but doesn't mean a reasonable person can't wish the good luck, because this is nothing but good for those wrestlers. Now we can talk about how BOTH WWE and AEW still doesn't treat the wrestlers like any other sport/sport entertainment but that is topic for another day. (I personally think wrestlers should get a Union and really work hard to push for better healthcare, retirement, etc) Still a place that pays "well" for wrestlers other than WWE is always a good thing. Hell this may help TNA and NWA get better deals and more ways to pay their wrestlers better.
I fully understand that men had a better experience with Vince McMahon than women did. That is simply going to happen in situations like this. I guess that there needs to be a mass email to all of the men with tips on how to handle these questions more sensitively.
Wait now you saying they're peoepls out there just to put down AEW and wish they go out of business . You mean like you the same ones that was trashing TNA for years and hoping WWE buys them. I remember that . Hypocrites.
Again visit man has not been found guilty until then I will refrain from judgment. How can you judge a person and he has not been found guilty it just makes no sense. Mic was not wrong everybody wants ppl to hate him 🤦🏾♂️
Folks, it’s 2024. The internet is full of pot stirrers and trolls. The reason there are so many “haters” online is because people can’t help but jump to the defense of their favorite product. A lot of those people who say “I bet you don’t even watch” are giving the attention to these trolls that makes them keep going. If everyone would stop giving them a moment of spotlight (Andy) they would simply disappear. Show some restraint. “If you don’t like it, don’t watch it”. Goes the other way as well “if you don’t like it, don’t deal with it”
@@SpazPhoenix I legitimately believe a lot of people are pot stirring. Do I have proof? No. I just notice usernames that go around and post the same copy pasted replies in every WWE or AEW thread to get people riled up and never have any other original reply when someone responds to them, kindly or otherwise.

@@SpazPhoenix yea same here. I’ve been called out for stating that as well and it’s never ending. If you're wanting *any* pro wrestling company to fail right now, you're not a fan. You're also a sad person who's desperate to be a part of something that doesn't even know you exist. Go outside.
VKM did help many wrestlers. He can be a sick man, and did some bad shit right, but he did do good stuff for some people. He's not defending what he did at all.
Best thing for AEW is their unlimited money. Worst thing for AEW is also their unlimited money. They have too many stars to meaningfully get anything out of. And because they have so many stars (and titles) it tends to feel like nobody is really special. You only have so many spots on a card, and they can't effectively build cracking feuds for everyone. So instead we get what feels like meaningless feuds with banger matches that don't really have context behind them. If I was TK I would halve the roster and have the following belts for both divisions. World Title, TNT/TBS title and tag titles. Get rid of everything else. If you have a continental classic, have the prize as a title shot not another belt.
