Regarding the flat, we went through the same situation. We sold our house and put everything in storage and headed off on our travels in our overland camper, only to strike three serious breakdowns in quick succession. It was very stressful with the truck in workshops, and us coughing up for airBnBs and couch surfing with relatives. So we bought a wee flat in Glasgow as a base, which has de-stressed us greatly knowing we have a sanctuary we can rely on, and was great to come back to for Christmas. We're just back from Skye when the snow hit - Skye is dramatic anyway, but in the snow it was stunning.
It makes it really hard when your home just stops working doesn't it! We're so grateful to have her fixed now but I think the fact it happened in winter made it worse 😂 I think that's a great idea having a wee place to come back to though, definitely something we'll consider doing one day i think 😁
@@highlands2hammocks Skye wasn't without issues though. We had one of our fresh water tanks burst a seam, so we had to look for water sooner than usual and most spigots we found were frozen! Also, our fuel tank imploded due to a frozen breather valve. The joys of winter overlanding, eh?! Luckily having the flat means we had somewhere to hole up while I did repairs.

Hi guys, I think you may need to research whether you require filming permits for the American National parks for your travels. And hey take things easy. I'm afraid instagram is way over my head (I simply don't get it) but I do enjoy watching RU-vid, having said that I would not want any vloggers to be doing too much and feeling the pressure to post every week. From all the folks I follow I noticed everyone really took proper breaks this/last Christmas and you know I think that is perfectly acceptable and reasonable as many followers are also busy with their own festivities, so its a win win. Anyway I was thinking what would I really like to see and it would be a compilation of all your particularly Campbells funny moments. I mean one of the best moments and I have rewatched it, was the can in the alleyway behind the locked gate in Inverness. However I know that would be quite a task to pull together. Wishing you both a happy and prosperous New Year and safe travels.

Hi guys, Donald Wilson here in Tacoma, Washington (State). I'm still in the process of planning my trip to Scotland. My family, Great Great Grandfather James Wilson, came to America in 1862. He was 37 years old. In tow were his wife, Margaret Andrew's Wilson, and their son, James Andrew Wilson, my great grandfather. Unfortunately, my great great grandmother, Margaret, passed away within 3 weeks of being in America. Anyway, they were born in West Lothian area, Fife, Bathgate. So, my siblings and I are 5th generation Scottish American. My mothers parents came from Norway and arrived in Tacoma in 1907. I have a friend here in Tacoma, Kevin Doig, he was born in Glasgow and grew up in Ayrshire. He is helping me with my travel plans to Scotland. Love your video's. Regards, Donald Willoam Wilson

For sure take a break from vlogging. You don’t want to turn something you enjoy into to a chore. Maybe after a break then do a short vlog once a month just to let us know how the nursing is going, what Campbell is doing & how Ellie is fairing etc. Best wishes till next time x Your wedding is your other priority for this year, so enjoy it and don’t feel you have to document everything for us.

Exciting year for you. Gemma I’m a nurse too and we are wanting to give up everything and going fulltime too. It’s such a difficult thing to give up a PIN. Huge decision but honestly I can’t imagine doing what you are doing and doing hours to keep it. I’m older than you though but even so the loss of registration is a hard thing to contemplate. ❤
It is definitely a something that I do not want to give up as I love nursing 🥰 how long have you been nursing for now? It’ll be a lot of teamwork when I’m nursing with Campbell to stay on top of everything (even including dinner 😂)

@@highlands2hammocks I would really recommend the walk around emerald lake but again it could be muddy and the full beauty of the lake can’t be seen if frozen. I’ll let you know closer to your arrival date with suggestions based on weather conditions. Have fun planning!

Don't know if u went to pavilion for panto I didn't fancy Tresure Island so we went to Ravenscraig Sports centre to see Jack And The Bean Stock it was fantastic great seats amazing show on Christmas eve

Attempting to combine “steady job” and “van life” is, in itself, stressful. Thinking about “a house”, “a wedding”, “fixing a van” are all high on the biggest stresses of your life. Cut yourself some slack, you are a lovely couple and don’t owe us anything. Looking forward to seeing your adventures.
