Why do women get so hung up on crows feet? My dear Mum who is no longer with me since 17 years said to the following to me and I’m now 54. My Mum said “ My face tells a story, I’ve laughed, cried, despaired, worried, and sometimes my face reflects this, everyone with these faces has a story to tell, and it’s interesting! Why would you want a ‘cover’ of a book that does not reflect the reality of who someone truly is”. I’m embracing my own changes, and to all you ladies out there who still have your Mums, embrace them too! Great content as always Nikol.

My sister had very dark hair and it started going gray very early. People used to tell her she should color it and her reply was always "I worked hard for everyone of these and I am keeping them."

My mother turned 90 years-old in December. My husband and I have been blessed to be her caregivers for several years now. Her body is small and frail; she's very hard-of-hearing and her beautiful, sparkling blue eyes don't work as well as they once did. But her mind is still VERY sharp and she has a great sense of humor. She loves working on her jigsaw puzzles and she plays "Words with Friends" every night with her best friend. They've been best friends _since they were twelve years old_ and they're still going strong! 😊 God bless you, @sabinabirnie3761. I know you must miss your mum very much. I don't know what I will do when that time comes for us....

I'm getting rid of nothing! I've been beyond hell and back and despite everything I'm still here I look after my skin, hair and dress well but any lines or wrinkles I may have are remaining. I'm 70 and in 2003 I was a victim of a hit and run but against all odds? I'm still standing! There are far greater battles to fight than aging. I embrace life with warts, lines, wrinkles and all. I much prefer to take the time to stop and smell the roses 🌹.....quite literally.

As a (soon to be) 65 year old, MtF, I thoroughly enjoy watching Nikol !!. As far as the Lines on my face, there is 3.5 Million miles (and 46 yrs driving) of stories to go with them !! My only regret?, not starting a skincare routine earlier in my life !! Thanks Nikol, You are the best !!!

@@pickledginger4574 I am 65 and easily look 20+ years younger. I get comments from people quite frequently. The key to living our best look in my opinion is Mindfulness, Proper Eating Habits ( certainly not the SAD AKA as the Standard American Frankenfood Industrail Complex Diet , Fasting, knowing that happiness is truly a choice and Genetics. Some products with top shelf organic ingreidents help. A fun fact : The more rancid seed oils one consumes the more a person is sensitive to the sun. We need the sun for health, well being and the best source of VITAMIN D ! Cheers 🥂

Agree with you Karen, it's all gotten (far) out of hand. And what about the fact 'they' say to the youngsters that "begin early is to prevend you have to do a lot once you're older" in my opinion is just something to get their pockets filled with 💰💰💸... better now than on long term is what these doctor's are thinking. And a lot of people themselves are driven by celebrity's as well... people want what they do, want to look like them, forgetting that it's all filters as well on social media. A while back I was watching a tv talk show... 6 actresses around a table with the host talking about beauty . All of the women were saying that it's sad how much women 'have to do or do plastic surgery and that aging naturel and gracefully is best' ... but at the same time ALL of these same women have done 'things' to their body and face. I was just thinking about the bad sign they were giving, by saying A and doing B... if that makes sense. And @NikolJohnson thanks for sharing your thoughts, as a woman of 56 years old I can't agree more

Hello, Nichol - I am a 75y/o woman who had a stroke 15mos ago and was totally paralyzed on my dominant right side. Let me tell you beauty procedures were the last thing on my mind! I've come a long way but my makeup routine is at a minimum which has been really a humbling experience. I appreciate your words of wisdom which have become a reality for me. God is merciful and I have learned what is truly important.

I was thinking about working for a plastic surgeon... I had all of the qualifications, so I submitted my resume. Afterwards I went on his insta page and saw many pictures of very young women getting all these procedures done... I was in shock. I never did get a call for the job... I consider it a blessing. I think it would be unhealthy for me to be around that 40 hours a week. 🙏🏻

I never really comment but I had to on this one. Bravo! This was so refreshing to hear. As a 47 year old woman and fellow influencer I feel so much pressure to not look like I'm aging. I have not done any botox or fillers but I will say I've felt more and more pressure lately and to be honest I'm not really comfortable with it. This was a message I really needed to hear. Lines on the face are interesting and beautiful. One of the most stunning women I’ve ever seen had silver, white hair brushed straight back with knowing eyes and beautifully lined skin. She was probably mid 70s, maybe older.

Women who start having various procedures on their faces don't realize that it can actually make them look worse! I see these ladies all the time here in south Florida, with their plastic faces and over plumped lips. I'll keep my crows feet, thanks. The most important things are don't smoke and don't tan. After that, if you smile a lot, when you get older, all your wrinkles will be in all the right places! Thanks for another great video!

I was at a wedding this weekend and a woman was asking me about what I’m going to do about my hair and face as I get older. What am I going to do about it? Thank you! What good perspective. My friend gave a good lesson in perspective that I’ve never forgotten. She called and wanted me to back to the university with her and finish our BA degrees in Genealogy / Family History. I said, “I can’t go back to school now - I’ll be 40 when I graduate” She wisely said, “I hate to tell you this, but you’re gonna be 40 whether you graduate or not!” LOL. (As it turned out, I was 67 when I finally graduated. It was actually harder to learn when I was 37 than at 67. Took me 49 years but I got there!)

I only found your channel a few months ago and I must say you have helped me out of a "deep funk" I had been in. My husband of 42 years passed away almost 7 years ago and my light dimmed. I thought my life was over as well. You have such a great attitude toward aging and I really appreciate it. I will be 67 in a few months, yes I have some wrinkles and imperfections but the people who love me still love me and think I am beautiful. It feels good to be putting makeup on again and playing around with color. Nothing wrong with wanting to enhance our features and help us feel more confident but true beauty glows outward from the inside! You glow girl, you absolutely glow!!

I had to go to an event this weekend where most of the people there were really, really rich and younger then my 70 years. I was feeling so intimated but then I remembered all you have thought you have taught me. I went with my natural skin and went to the back of my closet and pulled out my "vintage clothes " I went feeling good and got so many compliments. Thanks for your good videos

This is great, as usual. Thank you. I’ll pass a tip from my mother, passed from her mother … the best prevention of crows feet … sunglasses! Even when partly cloudy, or just windy, you’d be surprised how you don’t know you’re squinting. I’m grateful they started me with that, Clinique, and sunscreen in the early 1970’s 👍

When I was 17 or 18 someone either told me that or I read it somewhere, etc., but I've followed it religiously since that time, ( even if it's raining out, I don't care )...I just turned 64 and no crow's feet in sight...No lines anywhere...And I've had no procedures...Just the sunglasses and always taking care of my skin...I will die on the sunglasses hill!!...It works. Lol

Nikol, you are a breath of fresh air when you speak about aging. Most articles treat it like it's an infirmity or a disease. I'm 77 years old and I watch your makeup videos and practice, practice. I think you'll find this amusing- I love the little snippets where you show your stunning sense of style when you dress for various occasions. While I certainly can't have a clothing budget like yours, I do look for similar articles of clothing within my meager budget. I can at least find a similar look, similar fabric, etc. You have improved me immensely! I appreciate you so much! My goal this year is to buy some of your makeup line. Your color palettes are so understated and classy, as are you. I have never seen anyone as gorgeous as when I saw you in that brilliant red, one shouldered dress. You were breathtaking!

100% agree with you Nikol, to embrace our aging, lines and wrinkles, and especially for saying we're lucky enough be living and alive. My 35 year old son didn't get that chance at living, so that really hits home with me. Luckily, Im not obsessed with removing lines & wrinkles. Yes, I occasionally use a good moisturizer when I think about it, I love wearing makeup and feeling girly, and feeling great about myself. All I want is to look as good as I can with good skin care and some makeup. That's all I need.

I am 63 and just go with the flow. I use coconut oil with castor oil every night. My wrinkles are minimal for my age, but I am happy to be healthy. My 40 year old daughter is already getting upset over her wrinkles and planning to get botox. Great video!

Excellent video! I recently saw an article on bunny lines, too... I naturally have them by the way I smile and I happen to like them! Although I follow a very good skin care regimen, I have some crows feet and I don't mind them one bit! Thank you so much for having this channel. I am 53 and decided a long time ago to embrace my age but this is not part of the bigger conversation. Like you said, men’s ages and wrinkles aren’t talked about. In fact, we say they are distinguished. Why can’t women be?! I confess, sometimes I see my wrinkles and become frustrated. But then I remember, those wrinkles are earned. If I have laugh lines and crows feet so be it. They show the joy I have had in my life. I hope you keep showing videos. I appreciate you!

Loved this video and message today. I’m 72 and love putting on make up and trying to put my best self forward and feel good, but besides taking good care of my skin and living mostly healthy I am ok with my aging face and imperfections - it’s what makes me-me. I like that you also show your imperfections and show women it’s ok and that’s what real aging is. Now I’m hearing that tweens are already obsessed with skin care and beauty …sad.

I LOVE your eye primer! I often use it without eye shadow to soften my eyelids. It's the perfect amount of creamy and when I do apply eyeshadow it's the most lovely base.

I so agree with you! As a matter of fact, I think it's even more detrimental than we think. I've been reading more and more articles on the disconnect in relationships, or more accurately, the lack of relationships in not only the young, but all ages. The internet women, porn, etc., presents unrealistic expectations that no one can live up to. The perfect "physical" has to be there before anyone is willing to look deeper. It seems the sexualising of women goes much deeper than just our children.

I love your message Louise. As I approach 65 after a lifetime of feeling not deserving and sacrificing my health for career and always prioritizing others' needs ahead of my own, I am finally learning that I am, and always was, enough. I think older faces are much more interesting to look at as they reflect character developed by experiencing life with all of its joys and struggles. Internal beauty is reflected in our appearance and demeaner. Kind and loving people radiate a beauty beyond that which is gifted by genes or attained by a surgeon.

Amen. I agree 100 percent. It is wrong and a lot of people are profiting from and propping up the illusion that aging must be battled like a disease. This lie creates an impossible beauty standard for all. Well I for one am tired of giving this so much of my energy. I could have a doctorate degree with the time and money I have spent to "fix" myself. I appreciate you desiring to be real with us all. I’m 66.... honestly don’t look it...but am ding what I can to age gracefully. My daughter... 39 yrs now....has been botoxing for about 6 yrs ish.....for her forehead... and I never understood why she felt pressured to do it. I’ve had zero. I have no desire. This is me. I do still color my hair... but as far as my face... it is what it is. I can’t even express my appreciation for your honesty and not making getting older a disease! Thank you! I as many women...grew up never being satisfied with who I am.. always living up to someone else's expectations...never thin enough...never good enough because I was never thin enough. Well.....as I have aged and have come to accept myself...I'm Over It!!!
