I never had an issue with either of them, however I think it's obvious that their chemistry was what made the show. They pulled off the appearance of working well together, whether they did or not, and this last season didn't have the appeal of the former ones due to Franks absence. My guess is the ratings will drop off.
Viewed many episodes of Pickers here in Australia and watched as Mike constantly belittled Frank. Whether it was scripted that way I have no idea but no one can feel comfortable being treated like that continually. Good on you Frank for moving on
I didn't see it that way.. not belittling.. they took the Micky out of each other.. the banter was the chemistry.. fed off each other.. cheeky .. love it..
Mike's definitely thinks of himself as a "tall poppy" When he's actually just a pushy ugly duckling! I think he was jealous Frank attracted more attention than he did 😆
When you think you know someone you believe is your friend can really be heart felt when their true colors show. Frank was the most likable person on the show and he will be happy in whatever he decides to do. 😊
It would be a terrible mistake to not have Frank not be on the show. I love Frank and the toy treasures he finds. I think Mike has become a bit stuck up thinking the whole show is about him which is not the truth to me. I want Frank back!!
I saw some show on TV where he was the host of an Indian motorcycle event and he walked out on stage thinking everybody was going to clap for him and everything and the crowd just kind of sat there, (I think one or two of them even booed) now if Frank had been with him, I think it would have been a whole lot different. He is definitely stuck on himself...

@@babybison; man, you hit the nail on the head. It happened like that with "Happy Days", "Family Ties" and other shows. The Fonzi character was a fan favorite over the "supposed to be" star of the show Ritchie ( Ron Howard ) and Michael J. Fox's Alex Keaton became the center of attention on Family Ties in a similar fashion. The attention usually goes to the head of the actor involved and speeds along the demise of the show. Been watching from day one. Always loved the conversations that took place between Mike and Frank. The shows ratings were good for a reason. I really don’t see how it can be the same without the dynamic duo.

The first thing I noticed about the show was how Mike treats Frank. He doesn't treat him like a partner or an equal. He treats him like a child or a low-level employee. He constantly taking swipes at Frank about his size and his eating habits.
I went through something similar. Had a major back injury & surgery. My best friend of over 18 yrs didn't call, didn't text, nothing. I reached out to her several times via text while recovering from the surgery (recovery took nearly 1 year) with no response. Finally I asked what I had done wrong & why we weren't friends anymore. She replied with "we're still friends" but I haven't heard one thing from her since & that was 8 yrs ago. Was more hurtful than a boyfriend breakup especially since there was no explanation. Up until my back injury we were like sisters, saw each other every few days, texted daily etc. You learn who your true friends are during crisis.
I had major back surgery 20 years ago , I could have ended up in a wheelchair. You find out who your real friends and family are. Now years some of the people who weren't there for me or with me then want to re-establish friendships. Too bad for them I've moved on and realised I don't need them even if they are family.

Just finished reading the comments & having been in a similar business for over 40 years it just reminded me of the load it removes from your shoulders not to be around those who believe they are better than you and run you down to make themselves feel better about their own (Mike?) insecurities. You are so much better off Frank! You can see the way Mike would snap at Frank for no reason when they were driving around. I figured this would happen. I think the fame went to Mikes head.
Franks has always been an asshole on the show. He tries to rip everyone off as hard as possible and uses passive pressure techniques. Anyone who doesn't see that is an idiot
Well in fairness , he's a business man and it was basically his. He owns a few different businesses , he was the driving force of the show. That was pretty clear from the beginning , especially when he was expanding to open another store in Tennessee..
I had a very best friend from Kindergarden, we also could finish each others sentences. Could see each other across our classroom in grade school, knew what thee other was thinking & laugh hysterically & only we knew why. We had a falling out 28 yrs later. I miss her soooo much. She has passed some yrs back. But I dream of her talking to me telepathically all the time. So I figure shes still with me until I get to 5D or otherwise. People go their separate ways when they can no longer compromise their ethics or morals. At least in my case. I watched my best friend make the same mistake 3 times & crying 'why these things are always happening to her?' I summed it up for her with common sense answers and basically told her no one to blame but herself. She didnt like that answer & was not willing to change her behavior enough to not make mistake #4. So she ended our friendship. I cared more about her health, morals & ethics than she did. She died young because of it. Frank & American Pickers are both Alive & Well. Works for me!
We have no idea what happened behind the scenes. I’ve been around drinkers and if Frank had a problem it can drastically effect relationships for the worse. But only those close to them know what happened.
Frank was ok. But he was definitely the weak link in the show. I didn’t really like him too much because he will knickle and dime people out of their heirlooms, he’s so cheap. And what makes it worse is that he’s at the same time collecting a big check from the tv show. Mike at least seemed to pay people a bit better. And he seems authentic and genuine. But his brother doesn’t have a good personality and don’t prefer him on the show.
When did Frank get a knife in his back I never heard about that and I well start watching the show when they get rid of Mike and what every Daniel has to do with the show!!!!She is as big a phone as Mike is...
I’ll take Frank over Mike’s disgruntled looking brother and Jersey John any day!! And keep Danielle at the store where she belongs. She started the whole mess of new characters.
Ya, I agree. Nerd Mike alone is only a nerd. Mike with Frank is a Nerd and a Dork. I 'dunno about chemistry, but the math equals 2 'Tools' are better than 1.
Sad story, we will never fully understand. I hope there is forgiveness between them inspite of their differences. The show is not same without FRANK ! WE MISS YOU ! GOD BLESS YOU, THANKS for all the years.
The producers of popular shows like the American Pickers will never ever learn. Frank Fritz was the heart and soul of this show when Mike and Frank were on the road. Frank unknowingly brought the positive entertainment to the show without even realizing it. American Pickers without frank is like pouring cereal in a bowl and eating it without the milk!
A 40 year friendship, down the drain. Mike should be ashamed of himself, and make things right. Frank was 50% of that show, and should still be. What kind of friend throws 40 years away. Pathetic.
Actually Mike owns 100% of the show. He invented it from nothing. Frank and Danielle were brought on board only AFTER the show was sold to the History Channel by MIKE. Without Mike, there would be no "American Pickers," without Frank, "American Pickers" would still exist, but with someone else filling Frank's shoes...
40 years they’ve beeb hanging around together doing exactly what they wanted to. Seems as though mike has gotten too big for his britches & only thinks about himself. Isn’t that interested about his friend any longer
I've noticed a huge change in Mike Wolfe in the last three or four years. He has turned into basically a jerk especially towards Frank and then laughs about it. He brags about it and all that has really rubbed me the wrong way and I've actually stopped watching it regularly. I like Frank a lot and I thought he was the heart of the show and Mike was more the business. Frank also said something to the effect that he was getting phased out so Robbie could step in and I believe that to be true also (the network is saying thats not their plan, be we can see it happening. I dont really care for robbie. He has no heart (compared to frank), hes a kiss up to mike (which clearly feeds mikes ego, with mike often telling robbie how great he (Mike) is, himself, with robbie just nodding in agreement). Now they're labeling themselves as the Wolf brothers on the road... I won't be watching anymore, and it's a shame that turned out this way but with his divorce coming up too, it seems that Mike has changed in several different ways. I'm really happy with Frank's attitude as far as that won't change his life either way, and I would love to see Frank on the road in his own show if he can handle it physically.

For years on end Mike continually increased his narcissistic abuse toward Frank. Frank could have at any time been very mean to Mike about the abuse and slowly told Mike about how badly he thought he was being treated. Always reminded me of the hare and the tortoise. Mike was always in a hurry and Frank was very thoughtful in his approach to purchasing big ticket items, perhaps slower decision maker. Too bad Mike left Frank in the dust. You could sense tension, at times, between the two friends. But, no matter what the truth is....two years without contacting your best friend???? Let it go boys, life is way too short!
My wife and I used to watch regularly, but I stopped some years back after I found out every pick was staged, locations combed through in advance to find anything of value so that diva Mike could magically uncover treasures without having to spend his valuable time looking.
