We Open 100 Crown Zenith Packs - Was it Worth It? 

Solid price and definitely a fun adventure for a video! Opened 134 packs in a run yesterday. At least $800 in bigger hits and tons of other value in the other gallery cards not counted. Seems to be an easy profit center overall

I personally love and enjoy opening packs. I don’t buy any cards for the collection due to me wanting to pull them. I think you would’ve been closer to the amount you spent if you would’ve added in the regular rare Vs and radiants. Still a good bit of hits for the opening. Glad you were able to pull cards to add to the collection.

Been back in the hobby since 2021 and didn't know what Giratina was until the crazy alt art. Now it's growing on me!

Some good hits there. I usually buy 3 of the product., In this case 3 PC Crown Zenith exclusive Etbs and 3 regular. Etbs. I open one and keep the others sealed.

And the cycle is complete again. > Overhyping a set like it's the best ever > Opening a lot of packs > "I would not recommend opening a ton of packs" Crown Zenith is overhyped af like I said at release.

That's crazy about the 4 booster packs! I thought it was crazy when I got the mewtwo and the gold Palkia in one box. Ordered 6 boxes, can't wait to pick them up today!

I really lucked out with my first ETB of this set. In the second pack, I got the secret rare pikachu, and then a few packs later, the alt art Entei. There were multiple other hits in that one, too.

Opened 8 ETB's and my experience is pretty much the same. Constant hits in the 10-30$ area (1-2 per box) and a lot in the 2-8$ area. No gold card, no Mewtwo VSTAR. Best pulls were the Pikachu SR (2 times!!) and the Leafeon VSTAR. With the current card prices I was breaking even... but selling the duplicates etc. will probably put me in the negative area again.

Maybe the PC ETBs were just loaded? I think your level of luck in this video is way more common than a lot of people might think. Are you going to sell those so that you can put it towards more ETBs?

i’ve opened around 130 packs and already at 3 gold cards and around 20 GG cards left to collect. i definitely get way better pulls from the regi boxes and feel like the etbs just aren’t it at all.

My best crown zenith pull so far was a hisuian zoroark vstar

I have opened 4 Etb's and one Regibox and have pulled 5 Radiant Charizards, litary one in every product. No other Radiant. So for me it is the most common one :D

I wish they'd do some gen 2 starter art cards. They never get love.

I pulled all four gold cards (no duplicates) in my first 6 vstar universe boxes (boxes purchased split evenly between two cities). In CZ got 3/4 gold cards (no duplicates) in about 15 ETBs. I have definitely noticed batching issues for both sets and to mitigate this I spread out my ETB/box purchases from different vendors in the city or across the country, working out well so far.

I am actually shocked you didn't get a Gold card or the Secret Pikachu. My friend opened three cases and got at least 3 SR Pikachus and 3 gold cards in each case. I didn't open a case, but total I've opened 82 CZ packs and got 2 gold, 1 SR pikachu, and a Mewtwo VStar (as well as all the Waifu cards [no husbandos or friends though]).

I opened about 15 ETBs before trying collection boxes where I had way more luck with the hard pulls (gold cards etc.). ETB you get a good few hits per box but it's so many character cards and regular set rares.

My kids opened one ETB each and I opened a PC ETB. We each got a gold card from our ETBs and won’t be opening another box. Told them that was top of the mountain for the “Lucario boxes”.

You are right. Crown Zenith is a strong set. However I have my doubts that it will be at discount prices later this year. It's selling out fast. Some stores are selling for above msrp already

I got lucky and got two SR Pikachus and three Arceus Vstars out of ten ETBS, not a case tbc. I didn’t pay over msrp and got a few ETB’s for under msrp.

Great video! My experience was a little odd: I opened two sealed cases, and I noticed a dupe trend with the SR's and SAR's. One case had 6 Cynthia's Ambition and Deoxys V, and the other had 5 Hisuian Zororark Vstar and Mew V. Perhaps some batching issues? Still love this set though! Going for the master for sure!

When it first released I watched 30 ETB's opened with no gold cards.

Opened up 1 etb and 2 pikachu vmax boxes. Got really lucky to pull a Dialga gold and Palkia gold.

I’m sorry your luck was so terrible! This set is making up for all of my terrible evolving skies luck. I pulled two of the gold cards back to back and then opened a third a few packs later. I’m also sitting at 3 if the pikachus and I have spent around $400 on the set so far

I got pretty lucky in a few etbs. Sold my giratina though while prices were high. It paid for everything i bought so far. Also got arceus, mewtwo, suicune, entei, 3 radiant zards the sleeping mew and of course that pika. So im not sure ill open much more. Pretty much got my chase cards for free. I may buy golds in singles later when prices drop and call it done.

I’ve opened 6 etbs and on my 6th etb I got a gold dialga, suicune v, simisear vstar, and hisuian zoroark vstar. It was awesome because my 5th etb was a dud lol

I started out by opening 7 ETBs (5 from one company and 2 from another) and my hits were so insane. It still doesn’t make sense to me how, for example, I pulled 3 total Gold Secret rares when Tcgplayer then shows the odds of pulling certain cards based on their openings. On top of that, I pulled so many top tier GG cards that again, it still doesn’t make sense. Overall, I had a hit rate of UR+ in over 50% of the packs opened. I’ll be opening more here soon and have opened on lower scale from release day and the outcome is honestly the same. I have only opened 10-20 packs since but % super high and top tier cards 1/6 packs. In your video, the pulls were solid but higher frequency in the low tier hits and a lower pull rate. DRASTIC actually. How could something like my experience happen? Different companies, same orders so “case hits” per case theory was out the window before I got thru pack 3 on the next box.

I also got the same regigigast alt art and radiant zard but instead of zeraora vstar I got regular V and mew vmax from my first etb lol

I'm taking a break from buying Pokémon stuff, last year I overspent on it. So far this year I haven't and there's no rush, CZ will be around for a while. Crazy how much more money you have left every month when you're not collecting lol.

To realistically get $450 back, you have to pull atleast 2 gold cards which are anywhere around 1 in 100-150. Possible, but highly unlikely

Wow, after watching this video I'm definitely convinced that buying singles outright is the cheaper option. Not a single gold VStar or the Pikachu secret rare, ouch! And for that price for all those ETBs I could had just purchased either the Japanese Pikachu from the Precious Collector's box, or the Moonbreon! I was lucky enough to get the Pikachu and a couple other decent pulls within 3 ETBs and 1 V box, and not all at once. Also keeping my Pokemon Center Plus ETB sealed, can't believe that exclusive is exploding in value and it's my first ever sealed exclusive!

I like to get the single sleeved packs my luck is insane with those but etbs always do me dirty, I’m looking forward to opening this set as it seems you get a couple good hits per etb thats exciting to me 🎉😊🎉

Opened 3 etbs 1st didn’t get much other than raikou and the simisear vstar 2nd etb I got radiant Charizard , suicune and the mewtwo vstar 3rd etb I got the Giratina VSTAR 😎

I didn't realize it was possible to pull 2 full art trainers in the same pack...was that some sort of error? U pulled Adamant and friends in sinnoh from same pack

What fun is buying singles? The whole fun of pack opening is opening the one that has the card you’re looking for. Buying singles is boring.

Jake, tough luck. I still think opening Vstar universe is better than Crown Zenith, I've opened at least 60 packs of CZ , no gold cards but 2 secret rare pikachus. From around 5 boxes of Vstar, I got 2 gold cards the Giratina and the Arceus

I pulled origin form Palika on my 4th pack, watching all these packs being opened, it makes me realize how lucky that was

Personally I think there not going to reprint evolving skies.. not booster boxes anyway.. with the price increase coming there not thinking about a reprint at a old price.. there focusing on the future..

The average is 1 GG super rare per box. You got 8, so 2 boxes were lacking and non had more than 1

Just bad luck I think. seen 1 etb have 2 gold giratinas. My friend and I split 6 etbs and 1 of mine had gold palkia and 1 of his has gold plakia and arceus.

so far i opened 7 etbs, and fortunate enough to have the pikachu secret rare and arceus gold. My worst hit was the 5th and 7th ETBs...nothing significant at all.

I opened 70 packs and pulled a single VStar as my best hit, no SAR or anything. I am super disappointed in the set but thats because I was super unlucky. Definately changed my mind to buy singles only in the future.

Why reprint when you can buy the singles cheap of almost the whole set of evo skies besides the alt arts.

I don't think I've ever seen you open a full case of ETB's. It is a fun set to open. I've opened like 186 packs myself and I still enjoy it. The Pikachu SR may seem like an easy pull. However, it's still around 1 in 110 packs I heard which is a little rare although easier than the gold cards

Whew Skies is already over 500 at the local hobby shops by me with Crown ETBs up to 80. Now using these vids to scratch the itch for me because hobby stores are moreso just trying to make an extra 40% on any product now.

I’m 0/24 for a hit in crown zenith and my friends are also 0/10 for it so so far we are not a fan of buying packs for this set. Even though we like the cards

Only issue with buying the singles is that you have to get them second hand and cant just buy packs at the store

I got one box for 300 soles here in peru which is 100 dollars.

The whole evolving skies thing is beyond wild to me. It's a set with pretty awesome variety in terms of having 7-8 all-time great alt arts, but you NEVER pull any of them because the pull rates are the worst of any set ever other than Champions Path (the 2nd or 3rd worst set of all time). I wouldn't pay msrp for an Evolving Skies booster box because it's a guaranteed 80% loss even at 30% of what they sell for today. Pokemon would be indescribably dumb to not print more Evolving Skies booster boxes than any other set in history on this next reprint, because even if boxes crash to $130, that's still considered a very strong price point for a modern set, but they'd need to do 2 more enormous waves to achieve that, and LGS's would benefit so greatly if they each were given 30-40 booster box cases. They'd be sold out in 3 months.

I have only pulled radiant eternatus so far (like 3 of them at least) but I actually really want the radiant charjabug 😢
