I hope that Rhett and Link know how amazing this series is. If it doesn’t get the same numbers as other GMM videos I hope it doesn’t discourage them. Because this is truly something special and I hope they know that
Half a million views is incredibly low for content of this production value. You probably have to get at least 10 times this many views to pay for how much this cost to produce
@@Ruslan_davudov_photographyto me that made it more realistic, like he was really a random guy getting interviewed. people who have never been on camera get the urge to look at the camera
No best friend wants to imagine a life without the other. This is symbolic of the fact that Rhett and Link will forever live on somehow somewhere together in this little box we call the internet. Just beautiful, boys. Cheers to the next one.
This is S tier youtube. This is official in a way even the pope couldn't understand. This is Icarus with heat shielding. This is the inner most mind of DaVinci. This is perfection personified, then sacrificed, then resurrected and crowned king of all that exists.
Probably not an homage to cyberpunk. Maybe more of something they've been saying to each other for years because they've been sticking together since grade school
this scene actually got me. been watching the boys since 2014 and im just ugh i wish i couldirl do this with my best friend of 23 years and still be able to find a box of nothing in 200 more 🤣🥲
After just two episodes, I am completely sold on Wonderhole!!! It’s weird, trippy, yet very much Rhett and Link. This concept taps into the “silly” thoughts that we all have dismissed into the ether as random ridiculousness. I, for one, admittedly have thoughts like these on a regular. Can’t wait for the next episode!!!
I love the theme of this. Their friendship is timeless, even after they’re no longer famous, their bond as friends is what was important and will be their true legacy. Alive or dead in 200 years they’ll still be getting into adventures. If they’re dead their friendship will be alive either through the catalog of their videos or through an afterlife. I love how being friends is still important to them at 45 & 46 and will always be.
"People don't die when they die, they die when they are forgotten" Their conscience chip being stuck together in a hard drive as a parallel to their friendship being immortalized through their whole catalogue of videos on RU-vid. Simply amazing writing. Even if the Longevity Escape Velocity won't ever be reached, these two will never die, because they'll never be forgotten!
I kind of understand why they were rejected by big companies for this project. Although it might not seem as an outstanding idea for an audience that doesn't know who Rhett and Link are, viewing this content as a mythical beast of at least 8 years, makes this content as fine as aged wine. The level of emotional umami the years of knowing these two adds to the experience is something any other stranger to these two could never comprehend or enjoy.
I love that Rhett and Link recruit local businesses like they did with Sam here from Deluxe Shoe Repair to be part of their projects. It’s like making a really long and complex commercial for them. I’ve really been loving Wonderhole! So many creative ideas and fun directions. And this one managed to pull at my heartstrings.
They’re turning video ideas into a fictional movie plot. They included every aspect that makes a movie, a movie. Like the intro, preparation, the adventure, the climax/conflict, the solution, final struggle, and then the peaceful ending. This was never done in RU-vid history. Not that I know of, and it’s great!
It is criminal that this doesn’t have more views. The algorithms are clearly a mess. Absolutely love that these episodes are getting so much love and positive comments though, all the praise is very much deserved.
As somebody who'd lost their best friend of 29 years in 2021, that ending hit hard. Don't worry about me - I'm not about to go the, "Where you go, I go," route, but holy hell... I miss him everyday. Rest in peace, Steven.
Well that was an actual masterpiece. A contender for the best video they've ever made. I feel like it really nailed a lot of ideas they've touched on the years in their videos but never got to take to this level of creativity. Love how it took goofy best friend conversations like "what if we lived centuries into the future?" and "what if we combined our consciousnesses?" and turned it into a full-on Twilight Zone episode.
Okay, when the preview of this episode contained synth music and neon I did NOT expect it to punch me right in the feelings gland and have me openly weeping like this. Beautiful work. Loving this, can't wait for next week, here's to 200 (or at least 40) years more friendship.
I watched it and cried like a baby. Then I watched it with my teenage daughter and we both cried like babies. Then I watched it alone again and....yup, I'm still a baby
I’m genuinely crying over the “where you go I go, buddy” it’s such a beautiful heartbreaking friendship. It truly is a view of being together till the end of the line!
My husband sobbed at the end of this episode. He lost his best friend to ~unaliving~ about 5 years ago. Putting nothing in the box to just mess with their future selves and to teach them to just enjoy spending time together really hit him and made him think of his best friend. Thank you, Rhett & Link ❤
After several failed attempts to pitch a show, they harnessed the full power of middle-finger energy and made one themselves, and it's better than anything on TV right now.
2:07 “Wherever you go, I go” Caught the foreshadowing on my second watch. You can tell how much effort and passion has gone into each one of these episodes. The entire team should be super proud 🎉
I can't lie, the sight of seeing link temporarily die brought me straight to tears. Yall have been with me as I've grown up. From middle school to the present, I cannot imagine lossing yall, this really gave me perspective...
This weirdly made me cry, it gave me future nostalgia. Thought about a future where you guys are no longer around and people looking back at this iconic content you left behind. You are wonderful and I love you. Thanks for being a safety blanket.
@@Epyonator it's not weird. At all. I cried my ass off too. These guys are out here...living forever together...and it wasn't enough. Rhett gave himself up to keep being with Link on a hard drive. That deserves tears.
It's definitely not weird...I didn't just cry, I ugly cried 😭😂 after reading all the comments it made me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one! We are one big, weird family & I'm honored to be a part of it! 💜🫂
This episode was a cinematic masterpiece. The story was great, and even though I know it's a fictional skit/script, the ending of pulling both of their chips brought a tear to my eye, as it really goes to show that Rhett and Link are inseparable and cannot live without each other by their sides. "Where you go, I go, buddy" is such a sweet message that I look for in all of my friends.
This is BEYOND phenomenal. The cinematography, the acting, the directing, the editing, the theme, the story, the dialogue, the EVERYTHING. This is art! “I need more” is a grave understatement of how much I *need* more. 👏
This series is truly what I think are all the best parts of Rhett and Link's content. It's funny, heartfelt, well thought out, and at its core, two best friends who like spending time together. This episode made me laugh out loud but also shed tears at the end. Friendship is the best gift there is ❤
"where you go I go, buddy" -Rhett and Link (the epitome of mythical) This show is something that RU-vid has never seen. It's pure brilliance. I'm a student studying mechanical engineering at NC State right now. I know what they teach engineers here, and I can see the logic, creativity, and engineering minds behind this mastery of a show. I cant wait for the next episodes, and as always go pack :)
I really kept questioning what parts were scripted and what parts were not. the shoe shop part felt like mini documentary on a family business and then we're suddenly back to the rhett and link from the future! I'm in awe.
I hadn't watched much Rhett and Link in recent years, but this is one of the greatest comebacks ever. They really have just put a TV show on RU-vid and it's better than TV.
Guys, you've struck content gold! Thank you for sharing your strange and wonderful vision with us. This series is in fact a wonderhole as well as a time capsule of your childlike wonder and the creativity that started 40 years ago. What a fun time it must have been creating this.
My favorite version of Rhett and Link has always been and will forever be Rhett and Link. I'm a long time fan of over 10 years, and I love GMM, but when I see the best content/videos/artistry is when I see their pure imagination put into film! I hope you're encouraged to do more of what you love, because we all love it too!
Been a fan of Rhett & Link for...gosh, probably around 10 years now. This is one of the best things they've ever put out, and I can tell it was written from the heart. There's something about stories that are born from something real that just hit different, and the fact that it's all wrapped up in such a cool sci-fi setting is even better. I cannot wait for more.
18:15 I lost it when Link swore up and down that he would know the direction of the RU-vid play button, and then TOTALLY did exactly what he said he wouldn't. Pure gold. 😂
I genuinely can't hate or dislike any short film/series content Rhett and Link put out. They are gold and the people that helped this series in anyway kudos to them. Their films are hilarious and the comedic timing nothing ever seems forced, every time I watch them, I am glued to the screen. I wonder why they didn't pitch this to Netflix or something because damn this is good.
The production level here is insane, woah. The ending was such a twist too, the beginning scene had me convinced both Rhett and Link would find the time capsule
this is some of if not the most high effort, well thought-out, quality, cinema to come out of youtube for FREE in a long, long time. Genuinely tugged on some strings
@debs11100 Right!?!? 🤣 the one Link used, Rhett said was his old one & it had been used a lot, then you get a closer look & it's all crusty & stained 🤢 SO gross but SO hilarious at the same time! 🤣
This series is the best thing you guys have done in YEARS I am fully falling in love with your senses of humor, your creativity, and your genuine love for one another again. I can't wait for the next one!
Can we please talk about how this doesn't even feel scripted most of the time???? R&L are just so....effortless together sometimes. Same with Buddy System and with GMM. You forget that they are acting because they are so well paired together. This is just...perfect. like always on the OG channel. Too underrated, too under viewed, too looked over. 11 of 10. Also the fall/chip/put me in you scene....why did I actually tear up...15 out of 10.
Rhett and Link, you are both oh so gifted with creativity. You have built an entire empire on the internet like no one has done before. And you’ve earned every single achievement you guys have had. Thank you so much for sharing your art with us. The world feels like a better place when you’re in it. -a 23 year old mythical beast who had no friends in 4th grade but in 2011, found 2 best friends that always made her laugh.
This was profoundly moving to watch. Your lifelong partnership really took centre stage in this episode, and by the end I was holding back tears. Amazing storytelling, brilliant cinematography, and yet another incredible example of your creativity - what more could we ask for! Great work Rhett and Link, you guys are inspirational ❤
I don't even know how many years I've been watching these guys for but I cannot describe how happy I am that they are still putting so much thought and care and creativity into their work. Maybe more than ever. Thank you guys.
I love that their doing stuff like this. They could easily just keep doing gmm and make boat loads of money but this isn't that. What's driving this is the passion of creating. Keep at it y'all. In my mind one of the most wholesome people on RU-vid ❤
Big shout out to sound design, coloring and wardrobe!!! Those aspects really made this episode come together and sold the future idea so well! What an incredible episode, and great series so far, I can't wait for the next one!
I love how it is never questioned in the past nor brought up in the future that Rhett and Link would be/are still friends after another 200 years. It is just accepted as fact. And the ending just hammers that point in.
Coolest episode of non-GMM content so far, and I watched all of Buddy System! Rhett & Link never run out of creative ideas and the Mythical team is the stuff of legends. I can't wait to rewatch this in the year 2224.
I am sobbing 😭 I know it's a series, but imagining Rhett without Link... At least they still have their childhood friends still. That's more than I can say.
This show brings back that youtube nostalgia of originality we've been missing for a long time. I haven't been excited for the next episode of a show in a long time, you've done it again Rhett & Link.
This is like an updated version of the old show in a new format, I love it! If y'all were doing only stuff like this anymore, I would absolutely pay money to watch it
I'm really enjoying the new road Rhett and Link have taken on this channel. Its charming, Humorous and touching. Well thought out and love is put into every single video.
Their explanation for what this channel was gonna be and how they were investing in themselves truely shined in this. It’s really shows us a potential for them that falls so inline with what we know while being new fresh and immensely impressive and creative. Can’t wait for more of this channel and I hope it people profitable so it can continue for a longer time
I love this and I love y’all’s friendship! Wonderhole has y’all’s personalities all over it which is a treat to watch. I feel like the ideas are new but the comedy is familiar which is so fun to watch. Can’t wait for next week!
I cannot believe Hollywood passed on this concept. You've created a masterpiece. The full-circle story, the friendship, the meaning in the capsule itself. It's a work of art. Also, loving all the references including recruiting Sam! I fall more in love with my internet dads every day.
They never pitched it tl hollywood lol. I'm glad rhey decided to do it on their own, at least it's exactly like they wanted it to be, no taking directions from anyone else. Like they said, if they had pitched it to a production company it would've never been exactly theirs
the way I am actually crying by the end😭 this is truly a masterpiece. wonderhole feels uniquely molded out of the years of establishing a community where friendship, art, silliness, and profundity prevail. it feels built on and informed by the different genre of gmm & ear biscuits but so insanely creative and new - so authentic and so rhett & link on a deeper level than ever before. rhett and link, I think this is the best video you’ve ever made. but I reserve the right to amend as the wonder hole episodes continue to premiere ;)
Wonderhole is genuinely a masterpiece. Please keep it original and YOURS. The organic love, laughter, discoveries, and adventures you take us with you on are heartwarming ♥️. #loveR&LWonderhole
What a phenomenal episode! This series has been great so far. Top notch acting from the boys, and this episode actually made me and my 15yr old daughter tear up a little at the end 😄 We are now eagerly waiting for every new episode on Fridays 👏👏
