Yes, bathroom zombies are no joke. Sometimes, you'll find like 7 of them all crammed in one - I do NOT want to know what they were up to when the zompocalypse happened :D
If you keep playing and want to set up your character a bit better there are a number of negative traits that are super easy to manage so you can pick really beneficial positive traits. Short sighted-free points Slow reader-basically free points Weak stomach-Just don't eat rotten food or drink tainted water Smoker-Cigarettes and lighters are extremely abundant High Thirst-Water is very abundant in any town Underweight-Food is easy to find and you can get to a healthy weight pretty quick Prone to illness-Can be countered by the outdoorsman trait so basically free points Slow healer-Very easy to manage, just bandage yourself quickly when you get severe injuries Everything else is either unplayable, like sleepyhead or just too much of a pain to be worthwhile unless you're building a specific type of character for RP purposes or something like that. Strength and fitness take a long time to train up so picking stout and fit gives you a huge advantage, and wakeful is an absolute must (if you're playing SP or MP with sleep enabled). Burglar is IMO the best occupation because it gives you a bonus to your nimble trait which lets you turn and strafe faster and it gives you immediate access to any running vehicles that have gas since you can hotwire without having to level up mechanic and electrical skills. PZ is an incredible game but can be really off putting to new players since it really just throws you into a brutal world to learn the hard way, glad to see it take off so much lately with all this new youtube attention
you can even take Prone to Illness without Outdoorsman to counter it. just stay relatively dry (bath/dish towels, umbrella/poncho) and warm during cold seasons (campfire, wood stove, layered clothing) although Outdoorsman is a good perk in itself i also take Hemophobic. that's free points at the cost of you not being able to medically treat your buddies. Think-Skinned isnt so bad if youre always alert and dont take risky fights + tailoring some padding to your clothes helps guard from scratches/lacerations Underweight/Very Underweight is good too. just eat the fattiest/carb filled stuff you can find like sticks of butter, lard, margerine, cereals, oats Sunday Driver - **only if you plan on NEVER driving** you can just catch a ride from your friend. if you wanna drive, you're gonna hate this perk with a passion.
1:28 Scholar Doctor is a pretty solid pick for multiplayer. a Doctor with Learning, Tailoring, Cooking and Nutritionist, and anything not useful for combat, such as Asthma, Hard Hearing, Short Sighted or Sunday Driver. you basically run housekeeping for everyone, cook them the best meals for best performance and patch them up if they get hurt. with Tailoring being the only thing providing defense, getting it leveled quickly is a priority, so, with little else to do besides cooking or tending wounds, you sit down to read and power sew, and level up in no time.
A really rewarding game if you don't mind the steep learning curve. If you do a sandbox session you can customize just about everything. Zombie population and behaviour most importantly. Can make it really manageable so you can learn mechanics without constantly running or fighting.
Well thank you for the glorious 1 min and 40 seconds. The friendship was felt. I will admit that since this video I have gotten much better at editing (but not Project Zomboid). Thanks for trying us out! - Kat
