In this video, I give a synopsis of the three sessions my D&D group had wherein we playtested the homebrew rules I created to play a Fallout-themed adventure in the 5th-edition Dungeons and Dragons ruleset. This game was based on the rules outlined in my previous video on this topic, link down below.
I also include a few stat blocks for monsters that appeared in the adventure. Feel free to screen-cap them and use them in your own games, if you wish.

Unfortunately, there isn't much more to hear. After this first video, one of the players dropped off the face of the Earth, and the others had scheduling conflicts, so the adventure just sort of died after two sessions. I would love to continue it, but I'm not optimistic about the odds.

@@damienfeymont3433 Not in the foreseeable future, unfortunately. My group has run into a crisis of motivation, and I'm having trouble finding other people to play with. It's hard to even go looking for players when everyone has to work.

@@chameleonx9253 What is your opinion on a Fallout TTRPG using a mix of Cyberpunk 2020 combat and Call of Cthulhu’s percentile system? It’s the best I’ve been able to cobble together for a system that is as close to the core gameplay as possible and still able to use most of Fallout’s perks as written. The game is classless. Combat ends up being a bit on the math heavy side but the roleplay works well. I wanted to use 5e and make it classless but found it a bit too time consuming. I got pretty far in that area tho.

@@damienfeymont3433 I haven't really looked too deeply into either system, so I can't really give much of an informed opinion. D20 modern might be something to look at too. It's not technically classless, but it's pretty close. Does the system you created have some issue that makes you want to try a different one?

@chameleonx9253 I hear you there. Hey, do you still plan on doing your equipment video? I've been looking at the PDF, and I'm having a lot of fun reading it. Main issue is that my players are split on whether they want to go all in on weapon complexity with Ammo from across the games or if we want to simplify the system as much as possible.

@@pippogriffthegreat7003 Honestly, I had totally forgot about doing that video, but I can see about getting back to it. I was thinking about getting back into fallout, so maybe i can add that to the list. I could've gone way more in-depth with the equipment, but at the time I was throwing things together ASAP since I didn't have too long to plan the adventure. What I have there was what required the least deviation from the vanilla 5e rules. I could've added a whole other system for weapon mods and variant ammo types and stuff, but I decided to save that for after I had the basic system down.

@chameleonx9253 Hey I hear ya! I've been considering an ammo system where we do Small Rounds, Medium Rounds, and Heavy Ammo, each with rankings of 1-3 (maybe higher), each with value and damage increasing. For instance: 9mm: 1d6 10mm: 1d6+1 .45: 1d6+3 You can use entirely different damage die, and I'm pretty sure I have it set to something else entirely. The point is that it keeps the dice diversity low and the game accessibility high.
