I found your channel from the cr85 kart.. I have a Chinese pitbike with a cr85 swap, fully built motor and the bike has billet EVERYTHING that is sold in billet aluminum. Half of the cr85 chassis was welded onto the pitbike so its technically a micro dirtbike (not pitbike anymore since it has the closed cr85 frame). A aerospace engineer built it for fun, he sold it to me for $480 running! The motor is big bore, carbon reeds, hd clutch plates, full exhaust etc. insane build I will never sell it. I do want to take the cr85 motor off and put it in a kart, then swap a predator 212cc w/cvt onto the micro dirtbike. These things are way too much fun!!
This thing must be an absolute riot! I just finished a similar (but much less cool) GoKart build with a cbr125 motor… probably less than 1/4 the power that you got, and it’s still pretty of fun!
You can buy the engine mounts for any race chassis for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda and KTM engines from 125cc/250cc/500cc two strokes and 250cc and 450cc 4 strokes. They usually start around $250 and go up from there (just the mounts). You can buy brand new karts that come with any of those engines listed above too. Most of them convert the engines to a centrifugal style clutch setup deleting the factory transmissions. You can buy the clutch pull levers that mount behind the steering wheel, shift linkages, exhaust and everything else like radiators etc.... QRC karts is one of the companies I've dealt with in the past that has all this stuff.
In my opinion...why get rid of the transmission for a CVT with centrifugal clutch and belt with limited belt ratio....that probably melts and self destructs ?
