Would you do a rig walk around, I’m curious how you e made the 40’s fit so well.

It's a Willys pickup but I wouldn't know what year it is. 50's I believe. By far the most badass rig on the trail that day 🤘

Back in he day, 20-25 years ago, this was my favorite trail. By that time I'd grown to 38" tires, which were big in hose days. This year at EJS, I ran this trail on 7.50-16 bias ply grave diggers on stock leaf springs, drove up every obstacle (went STRAIGHT up the stairs on Rocker knocker) and had more fun than ever !! A real drivers game, but super rewarding driving up all these obstacles without links, coilovers, or 40" plus tires. No, I didn't spend my day stacking rocks !! Big rigs are tons of fun, but driving this trail, Cliff hanger, and Rusty Nail in a near stock 1958 series I Land Rover was more fun than I ever had with my big rig. It's also really fun to watch different size and driver skill play a role. Expect he unexpected !! Thanks for sharing !!

Apex steering booster does a decent job of helping throw the 40s around. Not a replacement for hydro but good enough to push that further down my to do list

@@Forbiddenoffroad For me, going backwards on a dirt bike, the hardest obstical is that last shelf before the parking lot. Going up that was tricky. Speed, hang on, then if you start to lose it, do a bike throw so it lands on top and you don't have to do it again. Haha! I did spend some good times watching the 4x4 navigate. And fix broken parts.

Definitely not the hardest trail there. Try “rear steer”.

For Sure, but I think he means "regular well known trail" I remember doing Upper Helldorado when that was considered extreme, back in the day. Like I said in my other comment on this video, I just ran his trail with a couple friends, all on 31" tall 7.50x16 tires, stock suspension, in two 1950's Land Rovers and two flat fender Willys. We had no trouble, and drove all these obstacles. Granted, we are old guys with lots of experience and our rigs are well dialled in. I love all these trails and kinda chuckle when I see buggies or truggies out here, total overkill for most of these trails.

Haha this was my exact thought. I started wheeling this in 1989 in a carbureted CJ7 with “outrageously large” 33” tires and a 3” lift. Mad it through a dozen times without damage!

@@buckswaney that's so cool! The trail definitely isn't what it was 35 years ago, now you need 40's to get through it safely and without body damage
