Highlights of this weekends 1st XI cricket match which sees Whaley bridge Cricket Club visit the Speedwell Cricket Ground in Round 2 of the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League Division One Competition.
The season should have started last weekend but all matches were abandoned due to the long spell of wet weather we’ve had. It’s a strong XI out on deck for Tintwistle today. It’s Maynies first game as he takes over the captaincy of the team. We have debuts for Atley, our overseas signing and new 1st XI vice captain for 2024. Dan joined from Newton Cricket Club during the close season and Frank also makes his debut.
