I was pleasantly surprised to see a new video from you! I was not expecting it at all… Glad you’re back on the road but honestly, you guys could make a parking lot interesting! 😂
Welcome back. Good to see ya'll again. Going slower is fine with me. I've always said you see so much more when you slow down. Good to see Kona also. See looks like a happy camper. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️
Any A+K is better than no A+K! Take as much time as you need to make whatever videos your heart desires. You've pumped out so much high quality content you definitely deserve to slow down. And you're definitely not letting anyone down! Cheers to your happiness!
Love you guys - your content is great and your travel guides and inspiration are second to none. Here’s hoping to see the recipe for that delish dinner from Van night #1!!!
Thank you for watching and visiting our website! Greens, cucumber, bell pepper, a pear or apple, steak, avocado, and this dressing www.loveandlemons.com/cilantro-lime-dressing/#wprm-recipe-container-43188
I support your decision 100%! Slow down, enjoy your lives together. We're not going anywhere, and will cherish any content you put out there. Looking forward to your evolving channel.
Guys we love you both 🤍🩵Please take as much recovery time as you guys need. Spend some quality time with each other and just enjoy life. In the meantime I will be checking the older vlogs that I did not had a chance to watch 😂love from upstate NY 🇺🇸
Good for you! You guys are the best! I thoroughly enjoy all your content and everything you do...I have taken numerous trips all based on your adventures...my favorite so far was actually finding the hidden waterfall off Sombrero Beach on Vancouver Island! Y'all are my "go to"!! Truly inspiring! Don't feel pressure, do what is right for you now and its ok to change your mind at anytime, its your life...take care of yourselves! Ordering my coffee mug now!✌
You guys are just amazing to be accomplishing what you have at such a young age (not sure how old you are but I'm almost 70!) The detail you both put into your work & play is so interesting to watch. Your knowledge of the places you visit, right down to the ice cream shops provides so much detail for us if we ever get to those places. I can understand why you would be burnt out right about now. I hope you do try to take some pressure off yourselves at this time. I've been subscribed & watching since I found your channel during the pandemic & so glad I did. Wishing you both & Kona, great days ahead & safe travels. Love from Spring Grove PA.
Even though I have to say I will miss the weekly videos, I am so happy for you to realize the toll the RU-vid lifestyle has taken on your health and that you take the steps to combat that before it is too late. Now I am looking forward for the videos when they come and wish you all the best for your travels and taking care of yourselves.
You guys do work hard and it shows in the quality of your work, be it your videos or your website. You are remarkable at disguising your burnout because you are both so energetic! Take care of yourselves and I am sure your dedicated audience will continue to journey either way you.
You look happy and refreshed! Choosing your own path forward to suit you needs is so smart. I actually lived in Roswell as a very young child. Dad was USAF and we probably only stayed less than two years. 70+ years ago! Wishing you safe journeys always, I love seeing the wonder in your eyes as you discover so much of the world.
I chuckled at you trying to be polite about the Roswell PF. I spent about a week in Roswell once and that PF still ranks as one of the worst I've been in. 😂 I'm such a slow traveler . . . I spent six weeks by Leadville, CO when it was hot everywhere else. You can explore more and spend less money on fuel when you go slow. I will say its taken me some time to adjust to slow travel though. At first it was hard to slow down so you might experience that too. I appreciate all the effort that goes into your videos. When people ask me why i don't have a RU-vid channel for my travels I tell them that is way more work and learning how to do it all than I am interested in And that it would detract from my enjoyment. So I totally get it. Put out videos when you feel like putting out videos you don't have to have any set timeline.
haha yeah it wasn't the best! But it got the job done! Leadville is clutch at that elevation! It's great to be a slow traveler. We're really hoping we can stick with it this year! Saving fuel is definitely a nice perk. Having a RU-vid channel is definitely more work than people think. It can quickly eat all your time and honestly does take away from your experience at times. Thank you and thanks for watching!
I am so glad you guys are prioritizing your self-care! We love re-watching your videos, so we will look forward to new ones and enjoy old ones also! Thanks so much for the amazing contact you put out, you are such a big part of our happiness!❤
Hey guys so glad you're back! My husband and I did a huge road trip last year, from Florida to North Dakota etc. You inspired our road trip looking for the best coffee and donuts every place we went. This year we decided to "meander" around the south east USA and take our time. Deirdre and George Kelly
How 2 people live in a van cramped Don’t make a kid because it costs like $100,000 dollars from 0 to 18 years Be single like most people so it won't be cramped
I'm glad that you have ability to slow down and enjoy life more. Building a RU-vid channel is much like starting a business, early on you spend countless extra hours in the construction and distribution of your product, and as time goes by you can dial back your efforts back and take pleasure in the fruits of your efforts and enjoying a better family life. Hope you will make it to Oregon during your westward travels. Did you see my email to you about the USFS fire lookout offer in September?
That's exactly right! We are lucky we've been able to build what we have that allows us to roll back a bit and focus on some other things. Yeah we responded to your email back on April 4.
I took a lil trip out west from Lousyanna first of May Up to San Angelo then thru Roswell to Ruidoso Then back down thru Alamagordo white sands Los Cruces then bypassed El paso on the north loop to Guadalupe mountain area Then south to Alpine Would of been nice to have seen yall but i was couple weeks late
Great video and I am glad that you are taking things a little slower. There have been times where I have had to take things slower with my channel. So, I totally understand what you are going through. I cannot wait to see your next adventure.
I love Connections!! Happy you guys are slowing down and taking care of yourselves! (And Kona!) You deserve it - and we can wait with anticipation for your videos!
We love you guys, your pep, and love for life... No matter what you guys choose to share/not share we will enjoy. Take care of yourselves!! 🫶🏻 Hoping to buy your sticker soon!!
It’s about time I comment again. Your winter series overseas was totally amazing! Helen and I super enjoyed each and everyone one of them! We can definitely understand you being a burnt out from the past several years. You’ve put out so much high quality content and I understand that it takes a ton of time and energy. Everything you do is so well researched and planned! The information and advice you give is so valuable! You’re truly the class of RU-vid vloggers…second to none! Please don’t worry about slowing down and not putting out as much content, we just appreciate you regardless of how often a new video drops. Btw, we purchased your A+K coffee mugs and have been enjoying them so much! Thank you again for the many adventures and inspiration! Keep shining my friends….
Can I just say I made the exact salad you guys talked about in this video (using Trader Joe's carne asada) and it was SO FRIGGIN GOOD. Thank you for the dinner inspo this week 😂
Welcome back! It’s exciting you’re back in the van and headed west. Great to hear you’re going to slow down a little bit. You’ve worked hard and deserve a slower pace. (Wordle and Connections are part of my daily routine.) Happy travels! 👏❤️
Oh yeah New Mexico is known for its April windy season. We were there last year, also went to Roswell, same thing. We were traveling from Carlsbad Caverns to Great Sand Dunes, passing throwing Roswell and Santa Fe; the wind was miserable!
So thankful for yall and absolutely believe yall are making the right choice to take a breather!!! Love yall and keep taking care of yall. (Trying to see how many y’all’s I can get in! Hoping Peru is y’all’s big destination!)
THANK YOU for slowing down! I love your videos and it makes me want to travel even more and I feel like I'm always trying to catch up. i have used your videos to plan many trips including my honeymoon. Take time and enjoy the views! It'll give me a chance to catch up on my own travel plans before falling in love with a whole new destination from your videos.
Hey, have you guys ever tried the Spelling Bee game on the New York Times games app? So much fun! (I do Wordle, too 😊) Love your videos, and you take the time you need! If you are burnt out, we don't get to see you at all! Plus, I hate the idea of anyone ignoring their mental health for the sake of anyone else! Breathe easy ❤ life is beautiful, right?
We have played the Spelling Bee game, but I (Adam) think it's lame that you have to pay once you get so many words 😑 Thank you! We are really trying to prioritize ourselves this year and going forward! ❤
Yes we’ve been to Banff and drove the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. Didn’t get to do much in Jasper on that trip though. This was right before we started our RU-vid channel so don’t have any videos of it. We want to go back, but are hesitant of the massive crowds. We’re mostly focusing on mostly non national park adventures this year
You guys are my favorite RU-vid travelers to watch if my husband was here it would be our dream to travel like you with your pup! My son likes to watch you too! My husband and son did alot of hiking we enjoy seeing new places experiences and food thank you Be safe I know not always easy but you make it fun and adventurous !!❤
Thank you for all your videos! You have inspired our family to travel and hike. I can’t wait to see how you do your routines in different places. We love A+K!
Good for y'all! Honestly, we don't know how you've been able to plan, travel, film, edit, create travel guides, and run your site for this long (never mind the mundane activities of life like laundry, shopping, etc.). We just started creating YT videos last fall and quickly realized that editing really good videos every week alone takes a TON of time, so we too have decided to go to an every other week schedule. It reduces the need for content and greatly eases the burden of editing. We've really enjoyed following you for the last several years and are glad that you'll continue creating more videos but at a more manageable pace. Looking forward to future adventures! 😁
Glad to see that you are back to van life! Enjoying the road trips slowly is way better. You need to come visit The Shawnee National Forest in Illinois. Hike the Little Grand Canyon, Garden of the Gods.
I know its selfish of me to say this but for your little slow down gather yourselves get a new perspective you could have always come back here to newfoundland and set your time to island time ;) but with that said I sure have been enjoying all this content you have been putting out, I don't type much but I watch every single episode, sometimes entire trips over and over again because it so filmed so great
SO happy for you both. First off, pig candy OMG. Secondly, in no particular order: phone, laptop, camera. If you can do something without them, all of them - disconnect, even for a short while - it's the greatest thing in the world.
We're super excited to be back! Bell pepper, cucumber, avocado, pear or apple, steak, and this dressing: www.loveandlemons.com/cilantro-lime-dressing/#wprm-recipe-container-43188
We usually grocery shop 1-2 a week. Our fridge isn't very big. Most of the time we find a laundromat in town. Very rarely if we are at paid campground they'll have a laundry facility, but we try to limit paid campgrounds as much as possible
Thank you for sharing all that! I love both of you. Adam, you’re a very handsome guy and Katherine you’re a very beautiful woman. Your content is really good and I would rather see less of it and high-quality than something not as good and every week. Take care of yourselves.
Totally understand and agree. It's easy to fall into the youtube trap. We love your videos because they have your personalities in them. Gotta protect your mental health. We're behind you 100%. And we will keep an eye out for you in the West. Stay safe, mates.
You two are my favorite RU-vidrs. Love watching every piece of content you put out. The quality of content is truly phenomenal. Wishing you increased success as you expand your business portfolio. The website and travel guides look incredible as well.
Hey Jymn! Thank you so much! We're so glad we could help in any way with your family adventures! That sounds like an epic trip! Let us know how it goes! ❤❤
I was wondering how you could sustain your life of big travel for so long. I was kinda getting worried!!! And yet, also amazed at your fitness. So, Utah is awesome, that’s where we high mountain people go when the snow is still here in April and may. Bears ears!!! FYI< Routt county, CO has sooooo much gravel riding. And forest. (I was laughing and sympathetic about driving a van in the wind… it’s the worst.) thanks for all your fun, uplifting, inspiring videos. ❤❤❤❤
I applaud your intent to slow down this year. Your elder viewers, like me, don't travel as aggressively as you do. I welcome vlogs that show the interesting sights in a local area. For example, Arizona has 18 sights managed by the NPS. A VLOG that focused on just them is suggested. Or, how about a VLOG on the forts in Texas? A VLOG concentrated on the historical sights in Virginia appeals also. But, whatever you create, it will be much appreciated.
We're excited for our new approach on the road. The problem with NPS sites are that they require a permit to to film in them. Many of them charge a hefty fee and are restrictive on our schedule. We will be visiting a handful of NPS sites (including a few National Parks) this year. The forts in Texas, cannonball parks, and those types of parks are very interesting to visit, but are very challenging for us to create an engaging video about. We appreciate you watching!
Thank you so much for the content you put out. I have been watching all of your videos for years and will continue to do so no matter what you choose to do. I am starting my adventure next month with a trip through South Dakota (Sioux Falls, Corn Palace, Bandlands, Wall Drug, Custer N.P. Mount Rushmore, Sturgis and Spearfish) and then to Glacier N.P. and the to Banff N.P. and Jasper before returning back to Nebraska. I will use your website and videos as guides. Once again, thank you and enjoy your adventures.
Good Idea.....Make sure you take care of each other and your mental health. I always enjoy all of your videos....Twoi thumbs up !!! Blessing from B.C. Canada Ray
I couldn't agree more. Maintaining a Go-Go-Go! schedule will burn you out quicker than anything. And another comment I've seen on this video, any A+K is better than no A+K! Thanks for posting, and I look forward to your upcoming content!
Hey, from Pleasanton, TX Your vans name is Brisket, lol, love the name. Our south and North Dakota trip was awesome because we followed some of your itinerary. Can't wait for this one. We love New Mexico.
If you're doing Roswell which is famous for the UFO crash site, then you have to go to Aztec, NM which has a little known UFO crash site. And if you do Aztec, go to Rubia's for good eats.
So happy for the 2 of you very. Wise decision, you're making.😊 Take time for each other and enjoy your lives and most of all, just Breathe and enjoy your lives. You only get one chance 😊 Thank you for all your hard work and blessings to you.❤
From Roswell I would have gone north and then west on 40 to SR14 and have taken the Torquoise trail. Little slower but beautiful country and 3 little towns. Way less windy. My wife and I had a 1958 school bus. The small mountain variety, we went that way and always enjoyed the trip. Then again, we always took life slow. Be safe and don't get carried away by any aliens. Also, I heard R2D2 and C3PO were on the prowl up that way.😂😊
You're getting close to 200k subscribers! I remember when it was about 30k and then when you were waiting to hit that milestone of 100k subscribers. Look at all you have accomplished! Sounds like you've got the perfect plan for the next phase. Your videos are always a bright spot for me so just happy to know you'll still be doing those, even if not quite as often. Wishing you grand adventures ahead ❤
Love seeing you enjoying yourselves back on the road! Although, we miss you❣️ I also love your A+K mug…so cute! Safe travels to our favorite RU-vid couple❣️ Can’t wait to see you soon❣️😜
Hi! Your adventures are so fun, but I could see your burn out long ago. Glad you are taking "me time". Have you considered talking to the History Channel or National Geographic network to air your adventures? Also, have you reached out to schools and nursing home activities directors to air your postings? Activities could include food and an activitiey for where ever you are on a trip, e.g. ice cream--well you eat a lot of ice cream; taste testing maple syrup (in your Vermont trip) and making something with leaves; etc. ; ) That way viewers get to participate with you on your adventures!
Hi! I wish it were that easy to talk to those massive publications! We like being producer, director, and creators of our show and being our own boss anyway 😊 We do have some teachers that tell us they show our videos in class on occasion which is really neat! Including some activities like that would be a really great idea for them! I'm not sure that's something we could arrange, but it's a great idea for a teacher or activity director at a nursing home! Thank you and thanks for watching!
Love how you're taking care of yourselves - burnout is real, but so is self-care!! My daily routine includes Wordle, Spelling Bee, Letterboxed, and Connections - in that order - during my lunch break at work. Words with Friends is also a great go-to relaxing game for me that I love. Looking forward to your van life adventures again!!
We love the NYT games. Never heard of Letter Boxed, will have to look into that one! Words with Friends is fun too! We're excited to be back in the van as a family at a more manageable pace! Thank you! ❤
Really enjoyed the video! You guys been to Bandelier national monument in New Mexico? If not, you should go. They have some really awesome cliff dwellings
Good luck! I hope that Adam finds some good fishing holes along the way. I’m glad that you’re coming out west. Looking forward to seeing all of your new adventures. Happy trails.
We were amazed how far you drove between locations...we do months long van trips and meander all back roads with no itinerary. Very chill. Best wishes for a great 2024. Take time to smell the roses. Oh...we play Rummicube.
Yeah we do vast distances sometimes! There's a lot more that goes into where we go than simply what we feel like. Thanks for following along! Rummicube is fun too!
Can't wait to see where you "start" this 5+ month journey. Northern New Mexico would have made a nice base to start. Lots of interesting National parks and Monuments plus stuff like Roswell.
If it isn't too late, visit Las Vegas, NM. Lots of old west and movie history. "Longmire" was filmed there. The beautiful Plaza Hotel is historic as well.
It's great to see you guys back. You are my favorite travel vlog. I'm still watching your old videos! It was smart to buy the bikes and not have to rent them all the time. I do Connections and Wordle every day! Have you tried Strands? It's a little tougher, but I like it! Have a great rest of the spring!
We’re so pumped to be back on the road! And yes renting bikes got real expensive! We go to so many amazing biking destinations and we’re excited to ride own now. So we do wordle and connections in the morning and Strands at night! That’s a fun game too! Thank you! ❤️
I came inside to have some lunch. I turned the TV on to see what I could find on RU-vid and there you were. I thought, "Wow, already?" Before watching I went to the kitchen to fix a sandwich and said out loud to myself, "Those young people are going to burn themselves out." So happy for you two. So, we'll have to wait a little more between visits. It will always be worth it.
We've been looking forward to your return!! So glad y'all made it back safe and had time to recharge a little bit before heading out😊We so appreciate all the hard work it takes to bring us all the wonderful video you share🥰Utah is on our radar too! So excited for another season of A+K (&K!😂) Praying for safe travel & continued good health....Love you guys!💞❤️🥰
Too fun, I actually discovered y'all via your first New Mexico videos, and I'm so excited you're back there! Take the time you need to recover, you've definitely earned it!
