Social media happened. In fact, it happened about the same time that the other shoe began to drop on Reagan era policies that gave tax breaks to the wealthy, and began to destroy the middle class so the billonaires could make more money that they didn't need. Everyday folks began to see their agency, and "American Dream" slip away, so tech companies gave them this silly social media toy to play with and vent their frustrations. This kept them dumb and distracted, instead of taking to pitchforks and torches. Society also gave everyone credit cards, new means of getting addicted to nicotine and easy access to gambling. People will stay compliant and hopeless if you keep them in debt and addicted to something.

What has become of the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight David Eisenhower, and, as a native Iowan, a native of the Hawkeye State, for Governor Robert Ray? The four I've mentioned were statesmen. They knew when to compromise, and when to stick to your guns, both of which are required in political office. They took the time to read the United States Constitution, the Declaration Of Independence, The Federalist Papers, and even the Articles Of Confederation. I can't say the same for the executive, legislative and judical branches with Republicans today, whether at the federal, state, commonwealth, parish, county, muncipal or township levels.
