As sailor for many (too many lol) years I can give you this one bit of advice. Every time your child is on deck or on the dock put a life jacket on him please. As adults wear yours to show him it’s the best idea! Love your video. Cheers

OMG - I love the boat - it is beautiful - you are so lucky to have gotten it from a trusted person. Oh, and the whales - thank you for sharing that - they take my breath away. I have been watching you guys for a long time and I really loved this content. I wanted to see the boat so bad and you gave us a great video showing all the work it took to take care of it. And - Fox - what can I say that hasn’t been said - he is the most adorable kid on earth! Thank you as always for sharing your life. I did notice a few whiners in your audience this time - if you are going to complain, go somewhere else -the rest of us are happy to be here! I do have to say one last thing - my late husband and I had a pontoon boat for many years and when we took our child out with us we all wore life jackets. We saw a lot of accidents on the lake we lived on and life jackets saved a lot of lives. You can’t plan an accident (that’s why it’s called an accident, ha,ha), so you should always be prepared. I can’t tell you what to do but I would hate to see anything bad happen to you. I wish you all wonderful voyages!
I never had much fear before I had kids and then I had all kinds of irrational fears and rational ones too LOL I think we're programmed in a good way for that so that we are not just in charge of our own lives at that point we have to deal with the peripheral and much like our ancestors you are now stewards of something else another life. To me it's not a fear so much as it is a sixth sense that kicks in. Listen to it your intuition is there for a reason.

Of the hundred or more boats we came to know I remember only two who had very small children. One boat had twin boys about five years old and their father had only one leg. I've often wondered how their cruising days worked out. Cruising is a real experience, but is not for the lazy or faint hearted.
Right on Ron...My deceased husband, a Ret. Admiral, our then 4 year old daughter and I, sailed our cabin cruiser around the Big Loop in 1995-7...She had been taking swimming lessons since she was 2....but she always wore a jacket....and we expected that from all who came on board....

Every fcking thing creates the mental basis for a child - one thing that he cannot remember everything, but it has an impact on his mental development. The most important years are from 0 to 6.
Love all of this. Since y'all are new to boating and the water I can't stress how important it is to have lifesaving jackets for all three of you. I'm sure you already know this but I'm a worrier so I just had to say that. And it doesn't matter how good anyone thinks they can swim. Just please invest in them.
As a former owner of a full keel sailboat (for many years) I can say it’s NOT TYPICAL for people to wear life jackets at all times. If you’ve never sailed you don’t get to tell others what they should do. Tsk.

Eventually, I would own a successful marketing company in Southern California and eventually, nationwide. I would then move to Southern California desert, Palm Springs, California, where I lived for over 30 years. After 30 years, of less than 3 inches of rain annually, I longed for rain, thunder and lightning, so I moved to Panama City, Panama 1 year ago and am loving every second. Go for it, I was raised sailing with my father. A few year’s ago he bought a Sunreef Sailing 80 and just before the lockdowns he grabbed up my family and we headed out sailing the Pacific. Ended up in my home state of Hawaii, where we settled.

I think this is a perfect edition to your transportation lineup - A lot of maintenance and safety equipment required but definitely the best way to travel for you guys! I hope you will do a boat tour when it's all redone!

I've never felt home living in a city, or in a suburban area. The woods have always felt like home more than anywhere else. My ultimate goal, is to get off grid. We live in Michigan where we are surrounded by the beautiful great lakes, but the plan is, to get to the U.P. of Michigan. Don't take your blessings for granted. You have a beautiful life.

That little baby is so adorable. Be careful what you wish for, they get so heavy to carry around we want them to be walking, but then when they walk they take off all the time. I raised just one son, it was such a beautiful experience. Age 2 and teenagers get such a bad rap, age 2 are excitingly inquisitive, teenagers are pulling away/turning back to dependence because that is the developmental task at that age that gives them such a bad rap. The whole thing once understood is magnificent! Enjoy every moment, it goes so quick.

I was a live aboard for many years. The tropical sun tried to kill me so I sold the boat, house and everything we did not need and moved to a remote spot in Alaska 13 miles from the closest road. Love it

Highly recommend you take a coastal navigation course that is put on by the US Coast Guard. I did that when I was living up in Washington state. A lot of people know how to sail or operate a motorboat but don’t know how to read a map and if their nav system goes down they wouldn’t be able to read or chart on a paper map either.

I'm more off grid than them and I live in a flat in a city (UK). Got to admit their landscape filming is top notch. Lovely scenes of natural beauty in this one. So many of their followers in denial about how they really make the money to live like this but it's none of my business anyway. All this we live close to nature is BS really.
