.......L O V I N ....T H I S .......I have lived for the past six and a half years in a 24 ft. Colorado Yurt........and this looks just.....so great.......the 10 ft compression ring.......I have a sleeping loft that id five ft. below my dome/center ring, and it's ....soooooo......great to wake up and see the sky float by.....but a 10 ft view window......I N S A N E !!!!!!!!!!.....SUCH A GREAT YURT.........
Some folks do occasionally break up the lattice wall with wood panels, and we offer hard window frames you can frame in. Our Duro-last cover material is very heavy duty though. Finishing the whole exterior in wood would impact the structure's ability to shift and move with weather conditions, and kind of defeat the whole purpose of a yurt! :)
While this looks cool, I feel that it's a lot of wasted space. In my opinion, if you're going to have a yurt this big, which of course would mean there is a lot of ceiling height, then it should come with a second floor. At least a few lofts, and probably some dividers.
Big yurts love lofts! People build all kinds of interior features and architecture. We're happy to give our input to custom builds and have some companies we work with that do amazing add-ons like that :)
Honestly I kind of like the giant open floor plan idea, But that's the beauty of this kind of house, even if you decide to go open floor plan and decide to build a loft laterThe entire design is very flexible.
