I find that rolltops are great for me when traveling, adding something in my bag that i didn't account for before. but my day to day stuff i'm pretty compact so i use like a messenger bag or a scout type bag. Love the video guys! very inspiring.
loved this candid video. work lunchbox backpack. bottom half of the bag is a lunch box that is removable for cleaning, top half is for work stuff; laptop sleeve in the back; admin panel on the side
As for roll-tops, they always look cool, and the weather resistance and potential expansion are both really useful features--but yeah man, the critiques you make in the video are exactly why I've never purchased one. It just ends up being too much hassle.
I also understand that why some people dislike rolltop cuz the accessibility is bit annoying and a hustle... I think we can look at ATD Supply 1&2 or the Alpha 31 where they have rolltop backpack but also a clamshell access at the front or at the back panel. The great thing about rolltop backpack, it is adaptable since it is expandable to fit lots of stuffs. Take for example like the trash messenger bag or the mission workshop vandal.
Hello! Like such video format. Sure some will contribute 'light bulbs' to your next project. I dislike roll top bag in the past. Having seeing more roll top backpack especially it's like the identity of German bag has to be roll top design, after few trips there made me rethinking 🤔 if it has it's practicality as daily bag. Case in point, Got Bag. It's super popular at least in Hamburg. Weather resistance, scratch resistance (to me view). But it's a simple, dump-everything-in bag which doesn't agree with my modular system. The major benefits of roll top is extreme weather resistance, no fail point like zipper and possible to expand storage vertically. Also these causing the downfall of no quick access. This design has potential. This is a family picnic size 😂, maybe offer another smaller size. Is there a better and secure method to open from front and/or back to the main compartment yet not compromising the protection from elements? Compartments on front and inside main compartment.
Hola! Gran proyecto Pat!!!!
Rolltop..hmm.. how about making it waterproof? huge volume + self standing + tote handles + backpack straps make it seems like a good bag to bring along while kayaking/boating.
@@timecrash85 I think you need a dry bag. Fabric bags can never be waterproof. To he certified waterproof, everything needs to be water tight. The micropores on fabric won't allow it.
Actually love the idea of a roll top tote! Love your products! If it’s a backpack convertible tote, I love having either hideable or removable backpack straps or a removable crossbody strap. Thanks for all your hard work!
Another point Tote bags attraction is its quick acess .. open the top .. everytg can be seen and is ready to access .. the roll top destroys all that .. For me, the tote must have a wide base for it to be able to stand up so that i can just open and access
I'd order this bag. I like having a way to close the bag as an option for security, but I can also leave it open when desired. Great idea. If you don't like the roll top consider changing it to a big zip top.
These videos where we can see your design process are so inspiring. Also: when I was a little kid, I read about the X-Men character "facade" in a comics guide, and pronounced it "fay-cade" until I got to college, where one day in English class I was *extremely* embarrassed when a classmate corrected me lol
First I want to say, your behind-the-scenes videos are great and beyond all the other reasons I want to support your company, offer a level transparency, fun, and humanity that makes me want to buy your bags even more, so kudos for that. As for roll tops, I wish I liked them more. I just don't think I'd find myself taking advantage of its "benefits" enough - how often am I really going to expand that space? And how often do I have issues with how waterproof my other Greenroom bags are? (Hint: never.) It's awesome that you're experimenting though!
Roll-top closures are too much hassle. I rarely need the extra space a roll-top provides. While ideal in theory, it's quite inconvenient in practice. A side zip would ruin the overall aesthetic. I really love your rainbow tote and didn't realize you sold them. However, the tote could benefit from some innovative features for easier access, like a quick way to dump everything in and out. Of course, I wouldn't use a tote for hiking as it's not practical. It's perfect for quick shopping trips, picnics, or kids' events where I need to grab and go. Longer, more comfortable straps would improve the carrying experience. Ultimately, should this be a new tote bag product or a revamped version of an existing Genesis?
Guys. i BEG make the tuna tin again.. its been my wallet for years and its amazing. its impossible to find another here in europe. i would gladly order direct from your website but its not available anymore.
@@gordongreenroom before i order from your website can you inform me if some of these were sent to mukama? as it is easier for me to buy from there and avoid import tax. Thanks?
I share your dislike for roll top The only reasons for roll top is 1. Extra space, 2. Rain protection In such a big bag already do you really need extra space ? Maybe for backpack esp those for riders I think there should be a way to quick access inside the bag without having to unroll .. maybe a vertical zipper in the middle of the bag that allows quick access in even when the roll is there ? Also, i think there must be a separate laptop compartment to quick access it
