Yeah I was confused why he didn't use the off the grid fridge but then I realized he probably forgot it was a thing since Cottage Living has been a while :)
I just said my favorite weather was Rain and it worked too. My sim is never afraid in thunderstorms. Although I do have to fight with him to keep him inside during thunderstorms because he wants to go play in it. haha
The sim gods heard James when he said he wanted this rags to riches to be more challenging and not easy, they granted that wish by breaking everything on his lot 💀💀
Unfortunately the items in the keepsake boxes are tied to the lot and not the sim. So the only way to actually transfer the items lot to lot is to take everything out of it and put it in your sims inventory before they move. I learned this when trying to take a box to University with all my goodies in it and once I got there couldn't get the items back out. Had to use a backup save to go back and put all the items into my inventory and then remember to do it again when I moved out of Uni and onto my own lot.
All boxes (external inventories) work this way, and it sucks! I have a huge post-it on my laptop reminding me of it. Lost way to much stuff on my legacy save because of it.
@@Mrssilviasmff Yeah, I need reminders as well... and yet I love the little box because I don't have to have a huge chest in my home to store all my crud.
I've had this issue as well. If I remember correctly, if you put the box in your household inventory, exit to live mode and then go back and get the box out of the household inventory, you can then take stuff out of it.
@@berg_ahorn yeah! It can also be put in the inventory to bring to other lots- I don’t know if it can take a full plate of food other sims make but when I have my sim order bread rolls or platters at the bar, I can save all of the meals 😁
James calling the nectar guy "crumpleass" is the funniest thing to me - it reminds me of the marvel actors messing up Benedict Cumberbatch's surname as a joke
And always a solution to any problem...not! That damn Mystical Bean tree planted itself right in front of my gate at Ophelia Villa. I tried to plant it on the side. Looks like I'm stuck with it forever.
@@robotrix Maybe you can use the T.O.O.L mod to remove it? Or 'testingcheats true' then shift+click and see if you have an option to destroy it. Though, idk if there is a workaround on console.
About it not counting when you sell nectar to Crinkletop: it also doesn't count when you sell your nectar via a sales table or in a retail store. Just in case somebody is writing up this bug and needs to know.
I also tried selling through my inventory through multi select, it was about 30k simoleons and it didn't count 😭 So the aspiration is definitely bugged.
@@lixyororke but since he needs produce for food too I think it's a good trade off, even if he can't use it for nectar making he can plant it for eating
i think it'd be fun if Lady had a special case of nectar - it could be the nectar for special occasions, like weddings, family get togethers, other celebrations
I just realized that James saying "Yeeee!" while riding Flame is this LP's equivalent of him going "Wheeeeeeeeeeee!" while Bob/Ambrose/Chaz/etc. would ride their bikes
The competition panel isn't bugged, they just all look unlocked when no horse is selected. And you can only enter 1 competition a day with a horse (so when you look a second time in a day and you only have one horse, they will all seem unlocked). Also, save up for a small basement, nectar ages faster in basements.
The planters not showing up in your inventory is a thing the Better Build Buy mod does. they will only show if you activate the show live objects or debug checkmark in the filter menu :) I had that same issue before. (If you resolved this later in the video please ignore my comment :D )
After moving to Galloping Gulch, I think it'd be neat if you turned the original ranch into a retail lot to eventually buy. Lady could sell nectar, the more expensive produce, and maybe even manure. Possibly the wool and milk from the sheep and goats eventually.
You dont even need the weel. But yeah as someone else said, James said he didn't think a pond suited the area Lady lives so he doesn't want to add one to the lot
lady isn’t scared when it’s thundering, because she loves the outdoors! but if you have sims that do become scared, it’s less points to buy “stormchaser” instead of “brave”
@@Zoxia9you can get the special "Thor" powers without Stormchaser as well. My one teen sim went out for a date, and got struck by lightning. He went inside to have the moodlet disappear, but the moment he walked outside again in the same storm he got struck again and got the lightning powers from that. I only took the Stormchaser trait after that as a reference to him having gained the powers that one time
If the plants dying off in the wrong season keeps annoying you, Little Ms Sam has a mod that keeps them fully grown while out of season but they'll only be harvestable while in season. It's an optional part of the Gardening Workaround Fix under Bug Fixes (the mod also stops them randomly reverting to dirt piles for no apparent reason)

@SineN0mine3 ir actually wasn't lms actually admitted they had no idea how to fix so they made around. The problem is gardening effects so many different systems which also means different systems effects gardening so it would take a lot to figure it out, unlike with the missing teeth bug which they could just remove and figure it out.
I'm just here waiting patiently for James to realize he could be instructing Flame to practice jumping and barrel racing to build skill on her own while doing stuff around the ranch with Lady.
The only bin I've noticed that doesn't get affected by being kicked over (isn't affected by the pick up glitch) is the wooden one from Windenburg/ Get Together
If you get an off the gird fridge (like the cottage living one), you can add ice. To cook on firepits you use "roast". Others have probably said it but just in case you miss it. Loving the series James!! ❤
I think an individual horse can only enter competitions once a day, so when you looked at the competition selection after finishing a competition, you saw everything that was available because you didn't have a horse selected to use for it. Now that it's a new day and flame hasn't competed today, you're seeing what's available for her to compete in today.
You can sell to the merchant at anytime the pop up’s mean nothing. You can’t call the wine merchant or invite them over but you can force them to come to a stay over and they will. Then you can just make nectar and sell to him while he is there. Then cancel the stay over when your ready for him to go. A better relationship and nectar quality helps when you sell to him as well. 😊
I just have to say how well you do with keeping your cool when so many things aren't working and just bug out, it must be so incredibly frustrating but you always move past things. Loving this series so far and can't wait to see how it goes!!
Root cellars were also how they kept things cold before refrigeration. Now whether the pack was programmed to do tha, that'sthe question. Some things in the Sims don't act like real life.
For the fridge you could get one that works off the grid. You still have to put ice in it so it is a challenge. And it would help with the power thing xD The name Bonabel (proposed before you renamed the sheep) was the name of the sheep that left my house because of a bug... sniiiif He was filthy and I wanted to wash him, I clicked on wash all mini animals (or something like that) but he got to sleep and I couldn't. I tried to reset him to do so (because it wouldn't wake up otherwise), before it was to late. And... My sims suddenly was sad, I didn't get a notification, the sheep just disappeared and my sim had a moodlet saying his sheep friend left. I was so down because I took good care of every of them. And just because he went to sleep at the wrong time and wouldn't wake up... My poor sims XD So i would say... beware of the sheep's sleep, James XDDD
I watched all the growing together during my pregnancy and this new LP came out the day I delivered my son lol so both of us started a new story on the same day 😊
That’s unfortunate that there are so many bugs… I would definitely recommend updating your mods though, if you haven’t yet. Doc also had a lot of issues but most were resolved after updating his mods folder.
I saw that ghost horse and went, "Lil' spooky, but it's not that bad." Then I remembered that the rest of the world does not have the giant "Blucifer" sculpture chilling at their airport, looking like it's ready to herald the apocalypse. I had to check myself there.
If I had a nickle for every time Colorado decided to place giant, blue animal sculptures for the public, I'd have two nickles. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. Blucifer and the peaking Bear.
I forgot! Don Gooseman's horse is not named Sebastian. The horse is named Duke. Which is still a reference bc he went by the alias "Duke Silver" for his saxophone playing.
A couple tips! I know you want a ranch hand but Patchy can help with the animals too! The wood working bench has worked for me in the San myshuno art museum (it could be a mod bug you are experiencing since it has been working for me and I don’t use mods) and I got my sim a picnic basket to keep food for a little extra time- it usually doubles the amount of time if left out and lasts about 18 sim hours 😊 yeah loving this series so much 😄
It's the better build/buy mod (which is amazing for building!) But I always forget it adds filters to inventory 🤦♀️ so you have to check 'debug' to see your crafted items, catches me out all the time! 😂
You need to have the tag "debug" on when in your household inventory to show the items you crafted And the last time the entire levels of competition were unlocked bc you didn't have a horse selected
Watching this while I cook dinner and clean, thanks for making boring tasks more fun! Im also sick rn so i really don't feel like doing anything but I was like: I'm gonna work until this videos over, so now I have almost an hour of motivation!
Love this series, but just to let you know that thing where it unlocks all the competitions isn't a bug. You can only do one competition with each horse each day. So once you've completed that it looks like that to make it obvious you can't complete anymore
James, your woodworking table is working! The furniture pieces goes into the build inventory, not your sim's inventory-I came up against the same issue before I realised. 😹
I love this LP so much. It's quickly turning into my favorite. I loved the cottage living LP, so I'm so excited your able to include some of that pack too.
You inspired me to play a ranch life in the Sims4, and I happened to be harvesting my prairie grass and came across normal quality, finely aged, “Vitality Nectar” worth $17,430!!!
I've found that if I shear my sheep and sell the wool from my inventory - it sells for at least 20 more simoleons than just shearing for money straight from the sheep.
i’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but i believe the planters you crafted are in the household inventory in build mode rather than the personal inventory :)
