Just unbelievable. My family and I live in the suburbs, but we used to live on the northwest side of the city. This is becoming too much for people. The problem is we are not prosecuting criminals, and putting them behind bars for what they have done. Shootings keep on going up like crazy. A lot of times I wish that the right to bear arms should be taken out of the bill of rights, where no citizen is allowed to own any kind of firearm. Of course it can’t happen, but I really wish it could. The other problem is that the city doesn’t know how to spend money. All the money goes to nonsense. Same thing in Springfield. Our politicians don’t know how to put money towards stopping violence on our streets, and keeping our communities safe

This same thing happened to me many years ago, but in Australia, and in many years hindsight it occured to me that maybe it also was possibly racially motivated. My shirt was all ripped up for no reason. It was just one person, a bunch of others in the crowd days later came to me to express "sorry that happened". I was the only white guy in a crowd of black guys, just a young man walking home. PLEASE if your black, please confront the teachings in your own community that it is okay to be racially hateful or blame innocent people, just because they are light skinned. Almost all white people under about 30 - as far as I can tell TODAY - were & are taught that is unfounded & unacceptable, as it should be. Yet CRT teaches that racism is right, depending on your color. The person who has more power in a situation or position depends on lots of things, but color is rarely one of them, and it can often privilege you if your black e.g. "they are entitled to be racist because they are black/they deserve it because they are white". In the video, the crowd of people who are black have much more power than the white guy; and in particular the criminal that attacked him form behind, which could also have had a racist component - seeing as he was white & thus his friends may have harbored the same racism towards him.

I used to visit Chicago 4 times a year up until Covid hit. I loved hanging out in River North. Looks like things have gone down hill fast in the last 18 months.

As a native Chicagoan, it really saddens me that violent crime has taken a back seat for so long. A city that's now unequivocally bankrupt will continue to spiral out of control, unless the masses wake up and decide to vote for someone who will take control.

The most disturbing part of this whole news clip is the man saying, "There were people all around me and nobody would help me". The fact that the masses are so desensitized is far more dangerous than the guy with the knife. I live in rural NE Pennsylvania, but If I lived in or near any city I would be doing anything and everything to get out. I saw a mom interviewed a few months ago (also Chicago I think) whose 3 week old baby's head was "grazed" by a bullet. As soon as her baby was well enough to travel, the single mother packed her car full of what she could take and her baby and just left. She wasn't sure to where, but she said, "anywhere that isn't here". Lawless, souless places are what cities have become, and it is only getting worse. 😔
